Chapter Ninety One

Some weeks later...

Rose and Christopher have been going to work and coming back home together. As days went by, they became closer.

Cindy has been quiet after the incident at the mall. She didn't trouble them because she was under strict warning from her father. She wasn't happy with what was happening but there was nothing she could do. She would watch every day as pictures of Rose and Christopher would surface on the internet and they would always appear like the perfect couple. The most painful part of it is that a few days ago, Pictures of Princess had gone viral. The little demon modeled some clothes with the two youngest models who are children of a very popular actress and people kept appreciating her. Cindy had been in a bad mood for a very long time and she was getting to the point where she would need to let it out or explode with anger. Her father had assured her that he had a plan that he is working on and she should wait for his direction.

Mr. Allen was also in a tight spot. He couldn't leave the house as freely as he used to. After that day that Christopher and his family came to have dinner with him, he had been at home. He would only go out a few times. Christopher kept him under watch 24/7. There was no opportunity for him to do anything. He wasn't happy but there was nothing he could do. He was living in fear every day. He was always on edge thinking that Christopher would have found out what he did many years ago. The fact that Stone was nowhere to be found was his biggest fear. If Christopher should get a hold of Stone and make him talk then, everything will be finished...

Christopher and his people kept Stone in a place where no one could ever guess. They didn't torture him. They only kept him. Christopher would go and see him but, he would just watch him. When Stone would see Christopher, he would become very scared because when Christopher comes, they would bring in things to use for torturing but they would not touch him. Gradually, he became wary of Christopher and his people.

On this particular day, Stone couldn't take their silent treatment anymore. He wanted them to do something. If they want to kill him then, fine. When they came in, as usual, he started to beg them to kill him. He begged and begged but was ignored. He couldn't take it anymore and promised to tell them everything that they asked. Christopher was called in and they recorded everything that Stone had confessed.

Rose had put Princess to bed and Christopher wasn't back yet. She decided to wait a little longer to see if he would come back. When the time got to 11 pm and Christopher still hadn't come back, she became worried. She called him several times but he didn't pick up. She had to go to Mrs. Rita for help.

She got to her door and knocked. "Who is there?" Mrs. Rita asked from inside.

"It's me. Please, I need your help!" Rode answered.

When Mrs. Rita heard the worry in her voice, she quickly opened the door and let her in. "What is it? Is there a problem?" She asked as she ushered Rose inside.

"It's Christopher. He isn't back yet and I have been trying to call him but he is not picking up." Rose said worriedly.

"He might just be busy. You shouldn't get yourself so worked up!" Mrs. Rita said and led her to sit.

"You don't understand. He would always call me or leave a message to let me know if he is busy. This time around, he didn't call, leave a message or even pick up my calls and reply to my messages. Is this not enough reason to worry?" Rose said in one breathe.

Mrs. Rita thought about it for a while and said. "You are right. It's enough reason to be worried. Why don't you call Uzo? He might know what is happening."

"That's true. If there is anyone who can know then, it's Uzo. Do you have his contact?" Rose asked Mrs. Rita.

"Yes, I do. Let me get my phone." Mrs. Rita answered and went to the table where she was charging her phone. She unplugged it and dialed Uzo's number. It rang and rang but Uzo did not pick up. "He is not picking his phone." Mrs. Rita said after trying the third time.

Rose was about to lose her mind when she heard that Uzo did not pick up as well. Different scenarios started playing in her head. What if something had happened? What if Christopher's father or Cindy had done something to him? Things have been very quiet lately so, what if they had finally attacked? What if they had succeeded in getting to Christopher? Those thoughts started running through her head and she started crying.

Mrs. Rita was surprised when Rose started crying. She quickly put down her phone and went to console Rose. "Why are you crying?? I am sure he is fine. He will be back soon... Stop it, Rose.!"

The more she tried to console Rose, the harder she cried. "What if something has happened to him?" Rose asked with tears running down her cheeks. Before Mrs. Rita could answer, she started talking again. "I won't be able to take it if... If something should happen to him... I haven't even told him that I love him!..." She said and cried harder.

Mrs. Rita was at a loss. She didn't know how to console Rose. She almost started crying as well. "Listen to me, Rose... Christopher is fine. He will be back soon. Stop crying... Please... Stop crying..." She said and pulled Rose into her embrace.

"No... I haven't told him that he means the world to me... What if... What if I don't get to tell him?" She said between loud sobs. "No... No... I have to go out and look for him!.." She said and pulled out of Mrs. Rita's embrace. She stood up and rushed to the door.

"Where are you going to?..." Mrs. Ri5a asked and rushed after her.

When Rose pulled open the door, Christopher was about to knock. His hand was hanging mid-air when the door was pulled open. Rose opened the door and saw Christopher standing outside with his hand in the air. She was only shocked for a moment before rushing to hug him. She buried her face in his chest and sobbed harder. "Where have you been.!! Are you okay?? I was scared when you didn't pick up my calls... I thought I had lost you before I could tell you that I love you... I love you, Christopher!!! I love you so much!!! You are my life!..." She confessed as she sobbed in his embrace.

Christopher was shocked for a moment before hugging her back. He hugged her with all his strength. He didn't want to pull away. Her cries were like arrows to his heart but her confessions of love cooled his pain. "Shhh... You are my life as well. I love you so much.!" He said with red eyes. These are the words that he had been longing to hear from her for as long as he could remember. Hearing her saying it made him forget about all that has been disturbing him since he heard Stone's confession. He held her shoulder and pulled her out of his embrace so that he could see her face. He cleaned the tears that were running down her cheeks and said, "am sorry for making you worried. Am very..." He was saying before he felt Rose's lips on his own. Her lips tasted salty due to the tears that were still running down her cheeks. He immediately returned the kiss. They continued to kiss each other as if their life depended on it.

They kissed till they were both out of breath before pulling away from each other. They joined their foreheads together and stood in silence for a while. After catching her breath, Rose said. "I love you, Christopher... It took me a long time to realize that I have fallen for you and it took me a longer time to tell you. I love you.!!"

"I love you too..." Christopher said and kissed her again. They continued to kiss while he lifted her off the ground. Immediately he carried her, Rose wrapped her legs around his waist. They continued to kiss while he started walking to their room.

Mrs. Rita witnessed all what they did and she had a smile on her face as she watched them walk away. Stood there for a while before closing her door.
