Chapter Ninety Eight

When Christopher got into the room where Ene was, she was sleeping. "Wake her up!" He ordered the doctor who had followed him in.

"Yes sir!" He was about to go rouse her awake when Uzo stopped him.

"Not like that!" He picked up a bucket of ice-cold water that someone had knowingly brought over and poured it over the sleeping Ene.

The coldness jolted her awake and when she saw Christopher sitting on a chair in front of her, she began to cry. "I knew you would come for me. I knew you wouldn't let them do anything to me. You love me... Don't you??" She asked between sobs.

Christopher, Uzo, and every other person on the lookout looked at her like she was mad. "What the hell is the mad woman ranting?" Uzo asked with a from after a few seconds of surprise.

"Shut up your stupid mouth.!!! Don't worry... I will make you pay when Christopher makes me the madam. Just wait and watch!" She replied Uzo threatenly.

"So, you poisoned my wife because you think I love you?" Christopher spoke and every other person kept quiet immediately except Ene who was still sobbing.

"She thinks she can just come out from anywhere and take you from me? That's not going to work. I will not be alive and watch any woman take you away from me.!!" She said and sat on the bed. Looking at Christopher like she was looking at her world.

"Then, you might as well die and go to hell..." Christopher said and stood up.

"Where are you going?... Didn't you come here to take me away?" She began to get scared.

"Nobody touches my family and expects to live. See you in hell." Christopher said without looking at her.

When she saw that he was about to step out she panicked and started to speak. "Do you think I am the only one who wants those people who came out of nowhere to disappear? You must think that after killing me then all will be fine, there are people who want them dead as well."

Christopher stopped in his tracks and turned back to look at her. "They will join you in hell the day they lay a finger on them. That, I promise you."

"Let me go and I will tell you who tried to kidnap princess today. I will even tell you their other plans." She added.

"Do I need a crazy person to help me out? I know what I want to know already. Just go to hell and wait for them to join you." Christopher replied and finally walked out.

"No... No... You are just pretending. Come back here!!! I know you definitely love me!! You are only like this because of the inheritance!! Come back here!!!" She screamed and tried to get down from the bed but couldn't.

"What is wrong with me? What have you all done to me?"

"Haha haha!!! I thought you wouldn't notice.!! Gosh!! You just talk too much nonsense. You really think you are special. Right???" Uzo asked mockingly.

"Shut up your smelling Mouth and undo what you have done to me, you crazy lackey!! Undo it and let me go!!." She screamed at Uzo and the others.

Uzo shook his head and said. "You are so delusional. Well, keep being like that till you die, maybe then, you'll know that you mean nothing to any of us here. You are not even a threat at all." He added and moved away from her.

"Don't make her die yet. Just make sure she wishes for death every day. You all know what the boss wants. Right?" Uzo spoke to the others who were standing guard.

"Yes sir." They all answered.

Uzo finally stepped out and walked to where Christopher was standing. "I took care of her. They all know what to do."

"Okay. Let's go. I think it's time I end it all. I won't give them a second chance to hurt my family. This has to end." Christopher said and walked in another direction. Uzo followed with a smile.

A few hours later, Christopher went back to the hospital while Uzo went back to the house. When he opened the door, Rose was still sleeping on the bed, princess was lying beside her on the bed while Mrs. Rita was on the couch. He walked in as quietly as he could and sat by the bedside looking at his wife and daughter who were sleeping peacefully.

"When did you get back?" Rose's voice jolted him out of his thoughts.

"Mmm, did I wake you up?" He asked, folding his arms across his chest.

"I was waiting for you. Where did you go?" Rose asked. Her voice laced with concern.

"I went out to take care of things that should be taken care of." He answered. His voice barely above a whisper.

"Hey, you don't have to do anything that will make you feel bad. Okay.? I am fine and you are beside me. That's all that matters." Rose said to him with concern written all over her face.

"It's okay. I only did what had to be done" He sighed deeply before speaking.

They both watched each other for a while without speaking and then,

"I love you." They both said at the same time. And then smiled at each other.

Christopher stretched his hand out and held onto Rose's outstretched arm. "I promise to make them all pay for this. I won't allow anybody to harm my family and go Scot free. I promise you." He leaned in and said.

Rose sighed with a soft smile and replied. "I know. I know you will do everything you can to protect us. And I will do all I can to always make you happy."

"Okay. Go back to sleep. You need to rest." Christopher said after a beat. He couldn't help loving her the more.

"What about you? Will you leave again after falling asleep?" Rose asked worriedly.

Christopher looked at her and his heart skipped a beat. "I promise to be here when you wake up. I won't move from here. Okay?"

"Okay. I love you, Christopher. I love you so much."

"I love you too my love. I love you with all my heart." He replied and at that moment, he felt better. His troubled heart finally felt at peace.
