Chapter Ninety seven

Some hours later...

Rose was left alone in the hospital room with Christopher. Princess had been taken home by Mrs. Rita and Ada. Uzo also went along with them. "What do I do? What do you think I should do?" She asked Christopher with a hint of worry and sadness in her voice.

"Don't think about it yet my love. You don't have to make a decision yet. Just give yourself sometime to digest it. I know you will eventually come to the right decision." Christopher said while holding onto her hands.

"I can't help it. I just can't help it. All my life... I thought she had died or something. I used to tell myself that she probably died and that's why she had never come looking for me. And now?" Rose said with a shake of her head and in a shaky voice.

"Hey, it's all going to be fine. You don't need to make a decision yet. And if you don't want to see her, you just have to say the words And i will make them leave. You have me, our daughter, and others who care about you. Okay..." Christopher said.

Rose looked at him for a minute and could feel tears welling up in her eyes. "What did I do to deserve you?" She said while looking at Christopher. She then pulled her hand out of his and tapped on the space beside her. "Come and lie down with me. I want to hug you."

Christopher didn't waste a moment and climbed onto the bed with her. He pulled her into his arms and said. "Take a nap. When you wake up, you will feel better."

"Okay." She said. Maybe because of the drip she was taking, she felt tired and sleepy. She smuggled into his embrace and started to fall asleep. "I love you, Christopher. I love you so much." She said groggily.

"I love you too my dear. I love you so much." Christopher answered while placing gentle kisses on her forehead. He held her in his arms till her breathing became gentle and he confirmed that she had fallen asleep.

He gently pulled himself away from her and got out of bed. He picked up his phone, walked to the window, and called Uzo. "Come back to the hospital and bring Mrs. Rita and Princess along with you."

He looked at Rose who was sleeping peacefully on the bed and then walked out. "What are you still doing here?" Christopher asked with a frown the moment he stepped out and saw who was still there.

"I have been waiting for you to come out. There are some things I can't say in front of my sister. I just want to ask you a question. What do you intend to do about your father?" Danied Rose's brother asked? He had been waiting for Christopher to come out for a while.

"It's none of your business. Now, step out of my way. I have things to settle." Christopher said with a frown and side stepped him.

"It's my business. I won't sit back and allow any harm to come to my sister and niece. Things are different now. She is not alone in this world anymore." Daniel said and turned to walk behind Christopher.

"She has me. I will take care of my own. And you take care of things from your end. If you want to help her then, you know what to do." Christopher added and walked away without looking back at Daniel who had stopped following.

"So he knows..." Daniel said with a smirk and picked up his phone to call his mother. After a few rings, the phone was picked up. "How is it going? Have you found it?" He asked once his mother picked up the call.

"I think your father moved it. Come back home. It will be easier with the both of us."

"Okay. I'll be there in a while." He answered and dropped the call. He looked towards Rose's hospital room and after a moment of thinking, walked away.

On the other hand, Uzo and the others had rushed back to the hospital and they met Christopher waiting for them in the parking lot. "Take care of them. I'll be back before she wakes up. Okay?" Christopher said to Mrs. Rita.

"Okay. Go do what you have to do." Mrs. Rita answered with a nod and tapped him lightly on the shoulder.

"Will mommy be fine?" Princess asked her father when he bent down to hug her.

"Of course princess! Your mommy will be fine. Just go inside and protect mommy till daddy gets back. Okay?" He said and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"Okay, daddy. I love you." Princess answered and held onto Mrs. Rita's hand and left with her.

"How is the situation at home?" Christopher asked the moment they were out of earshot.

"Well, she was working alone," Uzo answered. He had gone back to the house to see if there was anyone who had helped out Ene. Luckily, there was none.

"That's good. Where is she?"

"I had the guys take her to the hideout. Should we go there?" Uzo asked.

"Yes, I need to put an end to somethings," Christopher answered. They got into the car and Uzo ordered the driver to take them to their base in Oshodi where Stone was being held.

Almost an hour later, they got to their base and stepped out of the car. A guard rushed out to them in panic. "Boss!!"

"What the hell is chasing you??" Uzo asked.

"We have a problem. The maid, she tried to kill herself." He explained.

"And??" Christopher asked with only one word.

"We managed to save her in time. She is awake but not talking." He explained.

"It's good that she is alive. I don't even need her to talk." Christopher said and walked in. Leaving Uzo and the guard to follow behind him.

Uzo looked at his back view and smiled. He knew a show was about to go down. "Some people don't know who to mess with," Uzo whispered with a shake of his head and followed.
