Chapter Ninety Five

"Why are you crying? It doesn't suit you. You look ugly with tears on your face.!" Rose who had just woken up said with a smile on her face.

When Christopher heard her voice, he was shocked and relieved. He raised his head and looked at her. She was smiling tiredly at him. "Thank God you are awake. What would I have done if you had died?" He asked with a smile while tears of relief were still running down his cheeks.

"Hey, stop it. Who is dying? Me? I still have many years to spend on this earth. I haven't seen Princess grow up and I still haven't given birth to twins neither have I given birth to a boy!! It would take more than a little stomach pain to kill me.!" Rose said to assure him and she was serious about it. She wasn't planning to die when she had not even enjoyed her marriage.

"Yes, that's true. You still have a lot of things to do. A lot of things so none of us can die now. I love you, Rose! I love you so much. It's my fault for not being cautious enough! I should have been very careful." Christopher said and dried his tears. At that moment, he made up his mind to do what he has been hesitating to do since yesterday. If he delays further, his family will be out in more danger. His family is the most important to him now and he shouldn't delay in doing things that will keep them safe.

"What are you talking about? It's not your fault that I am here besides if I wasn't here then how would I know you look ugly when you cry?" Rose said trying to make him smile.

Christopher smiled at what she said and looked at her. He placed a kiss on her lips and asked. "Are you that happy to see me cry? "

Rose nodded her head at his question and said. "I am happy to see that you are a total human. Do you know that people working for you used to think you can't smile?"

Christopher was happy to hear her talking so happily and he kissed her on the lips. "You asked me a question in the morning and you didn't get to hear the answer before you were rushed down here. Should I tell you now?" Christopher asked her.

"What's that?" Rose asked.

"You asked why I didn't come back home on time yesterday. Do you want me to tell you what I found out?" Christopher asked and she nodded her head. "Okay, yesterday, the hired hand that my father paid to kill us had confessed and he told me some things that I had only thought about. He told me that my father and Cindy's father were the ones who killed my mother. When she was pregnant, they wanted him to kill her but my mother was too careful. They only got the chance to get to her when she was in the hospital after childbirth." He explained to Rose.

Rose didn't know what to say for some time after hearing what he said. It's one thing to be suspicious and It's another thing to have your suspicions confirmed. She felt pity for Christopher. This fact only proved that his father never loved him. He was always seen as a problem. She tried to sit up and held his hand in hers. "What do you plan to do now?" She asked.

"I plan to put an end to all these immediately. I will do what I should have done since yesterday. Do you know you were poisoned?" Christopher asked her.

"Mmmm, I guessed as much. I knew what happened to me wouldn't be an ordinary stomach pain. About your father, how do you feel?" Rose said and looked at him worriedly.

"Truthfully, I don't know. Yesterday I was very hurt and I was torn but today, thinking about it doesn't give me any special feelings. I only know that I should do what I know I should." Christopher answered.

"Well..."

Rose was saying but Mrs. Rita popped her head in. When she that Rose was awake, she rushed into the room. "Oh, my God you are awake!! Thank God.!! I was so scared when I saw Christopher carrying you and you were bleeding..." Mrs. Rita said and held onto Rose's hand and at that moment, tears started falling out of her eyes.

"Not again!... Please stop crying. I am fine as you can see." Rose said and cleaned her tears.

"This is because I am happy. It's a relief to see that you are awake and fine... I am very happy." Mrs. Rita answered and hugged Rose. "Oh!!! I came here for another thing." Mrs. Rita said after pulling out of the hug. "Uzo is back and I don't know why but, he came in with some guards and they brought Ene and Blessing. Are they involved?" She asked Christopher.

"One of them or both of them is responsible for what happened. I don't know Uzo's plan tho..." Christopher answered and looked at Rose.

"Please, bring them in..." Rose said.

Mrs. Rita nodded and walked out. A few minutes later she came back in with Uzo and the maids. Paul came in as well and started setting in some dishes on a table. After the dishes had been set, Uzo gave each of them a spoon. "Now, the both of you should take a spoon at the same time and eat it." He said after handing the spoon to them.

"You brought us here saying that madam Rose is sick and we are coming to check on her. Now, you are asking us to eat. What's going on!?" Blessing questioned while looking from Rose to Christopher who was also looking at them.

"This food is poisoned. One of you poisoned her so, the both of you need to eat it.!" Uzo answered.

"What!!!! You... You are saying... This food that you want us to eat is poisoned?" Blessing asked loudly.

"Yes," Uzo answered without any expression. "Since the both of you want her dead, we decided that the both of you have to die as well." He added.

"That's nonsense!!! Why would I want to poison her!? I swear it wasn't me.! I didn't put anything into her food.!" Blessing shouted while Ene was just quietly watching. Her silence didn't surprise anyone because she has always been like that. She hardly talks.

"You have two minutes to each eat a spoon full. If that time passes and the both of you still haven't eaten, the police will come here to take you away.!" Uzo answered.

Blessing became scared at that moment. She started crying and went forward. She looked at Ene who had not said anything since they got there. Blessing took a spoonful of the food. Looked at Rose and Christopher for a moment before she put the food in her mouth with her eyes closed and tears running down her cheeks. Ene also looked at the food. She didn't make a move. She only watched it for a while before throwing away her spoon. "Why do I have to eat? She deserves to die.!" She said and looked at Rose angrily.
