His mate: Fated to the Lycan

CHAPTER 1

GOLDENROD PACK

Pacing up and down the room, Nathan is restless as to what he is to do next. He did come across his mate yesterday night at the event he went to. He did not get the chance to talk to her as he had to give a speech. Her face doesn't look familiar but he knew she was his mate. It's hard for him to be the pack leader with the way things are going for him.

It seems like soon enough, his pack might want to ask for a new one. He has a big problem. He is a Lycan whose side isn't coming out and only a beastly side of him remains. The only way to bring out his controllable side is for him to meet his mate and claim her according to the prophecy he had when he was born. He will be the most powerful if he could just do that.

But then, he has never met her before until yesterday.

He went to an art exhibition event where a friend invited him because she's also participating. He never thought that in a place like this, he could meet his mate whom he had been searching for all along. Their eyes met when they bumped into each other, but she got a call and left. At that moment, his wolf shouted MATE!

He could hardly believe it, he kept looking around for an opportunity to talk to her. Sadly, he lost her before he could even get another one.

He is on the edge. His step brother Stefan and the others may be looking for a way to dethrone him. Not just as the pack leader but also as the sole heir to everything they own. This is because they know he's not that strong enough to stop them. If only his Lycan side could be awakened, this won't be the case.

"Are you going to pace around like this all day?" His sister Noelle asked him as she entered the room.

Nathan had failed to notice his sister's presence as he was lost in thoughts. He almost flinched when he saw her. Another reason why he is called a weak leader.

"You should knock before coming in. Stop sneaking up on me like that." He warned, pretending to be cold towards her.

In reality, he loves his sister dearly as she is all he has left after their parents died. Stefan is just a mistake his father made before his father met his mate, which is Nathan's mother.

"Yeah whatever." Noelle sat down on the bed, "To be honest, I was worried about you. What if you don't meet her again? And if you do, what's going to happen? I'm not sure if she's single but my guts keep telling me something isn't right."

"We'll see about that when I see her again. I have someone look into her, I'll find out who she is soon enough." He replied with enthusiasm.

"I wish I had your courage, I wouldn't be running away from my mate this way if I did." She sighed.

Nathan smirked, "Hmm... You keep running away from him because you like him. He did not reject you, why won't you give him a chance."

She shrugged, "I don't know. He is way too hot and handsome. You know what happened with my last boyfriend. Even if this one is my mate, I feel like he's going to do the same thing."

"Sometimes you need to stop listening to your dumb head and listen to your heart instead. You will find all the answers you seek. The mating bond is very strong, I don't think anyone can ignore it."

"You and your..." Her statement was cut off by the sound of his phone.

Nathan jumped to pick up the phone as soon as he heard it ring. He is only expecting an important call from the one he asked to get information on his mate.

"Yes, tell me." He said eagerly.

He listened with excitement, he only had time to listen to her address before hanging up. He ran out of the room after grabbing his keys.

Noelle shook her head, "Why do I feel like something bad is about to happen."

Nathan got into his car and drove straight to the house where his mate lived in. He already got her name. She is Riella but not someone from his pack. That doesn't matter to him, as long as she could get him out of this unwanted situation.

SILVER MOON PACK

Nathan knew this place was not his pack and most people certainly are not in good terms with him either. He stopped his car right in front of the house and jumped out. He went straight to the door and rang the bell waiting eagerly for her.

As he expected, she opened the door. It is daytime and he can see how beautiful she is. He smiled as soon as he saw her, but that's not the case for Riella. She wasn't smiling or looking happy to see him, she frowned and looked really cold.

"Who are you? And what can I do for you?" She asked coldly.

Nathan did not expect the cold shoulder as he thought she would already know who he is. Still, he decided to play it cool, he is after something right?

"I am Alpha Nathan of ..."

"Listen, I don't care. What do you want?" She cuts him off rudely.

Nathan couldn't tell what she was thinking and why she kept being rude. He had mixed feeling as to what to do, he did not understand anything at all.

"Why are you like this? You won't even let me say anything. I think you know why I am here already. We met yesterday at the art exhibition, you left before I could even ask you anything." Nathan expressed his frustration.

"Is that why you came looking for me?" Riella scoffed, "Just get to the point or I am going back inside. Wouldn't want to associate with someone like you."

"I am here to claim you as my mate. I know you already found out who I am too and..."

Riella stopped him from speaking further. "I am not interested in whatever you have to say. I Riella Edmunds reject you Alpha Nathan of the Goldenrod Pack."

This came as a big blow to Nathan and his wolf. His eyes widened in shock as no words could come out of his mouth. He started feeling out of breath, then he held his chest in pain but Riella never looked his way. More like she wanted him to be like that, but why?
