Lana’s POV

“I didn’t mean it like that!” Freya backs off from me

“Then what did you mean? You can’t just call me a key and then pretend you don’t know.”

“I didn’t…I shouldn’t have… Hallen is going to kill me.”

“Not if I kill you first!” I snap at her.

“You wouldn’t?!”

“Try me!”

Calling my wolf forward, every bone cracks and grows as they reposition. Sam was right, it was becoming less painful the more often it happened and I was getting quicker to.

In less than a minute my white wolf had replaced me. My clothes laid in tatters on the floor around my feet as Freya stared at me.

“I could kill you.” She mumbles, summoning a ball of brilliant white light.

“But you won’t.” I stopped speaking the moment I realised that I was linking her. How was that even possible? I didn’t belong to a pack, she didn’t belong to a pack.

Her eyes stare into my own as the ball of white light is crushed.
