Chapter 16

"Joshua, you look pale. Are you sure you're feeling fine?" My mom inquired in a concerned voice before placing her right palm on my neck to feel my temperature.

"C'mon mom" I gave a faint chuckle before lowering her hand from my neck.

"I am fine... It's just that am having slight headache" I lied, pretending to sound weak and exhausted.

"Go lie down so the headache can subside" My dad adviced, staring down at me with a smile on his face. Then he turned his head towards my mom and said. "Honey, let me go and take a shower... I'll be with you shortly" giving her a peck on the forehead before leaving the dining room.

Then I looked at the time on my phone, it was just 8:04pm in the night.

"Mom... I'll need to get some rest." I informed and raised myself from the chair with my plates in both hands.

"Maybe I'll feel much better in the morning... Good night" I concluded with a smile.

My mom only nodded without muttering a word. Her mouth was stuffed from the meat she was chewing. So I wa
