Chapter 20

I closed and locked my door behind me as I entered my room. My legs wobbled and I felt faint as flashes of Abigail wrapping her naked body flooded my head. How could she sleep with my dad? I muttered inaudibly under my breath as I lowered myself helplessly to the floor with my back leaning on my door. I was still finding it hard to believe what I had just seen.

'She said she loves me. Why would she lie to me?' I groaned bitterly as I sat on the floor; covering my face with both palms the minute I felt trickles of tears flowing down my cheeks.

Just as I sat wallowing in my depression, I began to hear what sounded like footsteps approaching my door. The person was walking fast, after which I heard four hasty quiet knocks on my door.

I sniffed and, wiping the tears on my cheek, I sat erect. What more does she want from me?! I clenched my jaw in suppressed rage. I knew it was Abigail at the door even without her speaking. So I made no effort whatsoever to attend to her or even utter a wor
