Sylvia's POV

A loud crash shattered the quiet night. The heavy polished oak doors of the Kensington estate flew wide open and slammed hard against the stone walls.

I stood in the center of the grand foyer. My palm still throbbed with a hot ache from the magical blood oath. Julian stood right behind me. He was silent and massive. His large frame was hidden beneath a thick dark cloak.

Cassian marched through the doorway. Four elite pack guards followed closely behind him. They tracked wet mud all over my clean marble floors. Clara peeked out from behind his broad shoulders. She looked nervously at the expensive crystal chandeliers and the velvet curtains.

"Your little temper tantrum is over, Sylvia," Cassian announced. An ugly arrogant smile stretched across his handsome face.

"Get out of my house," I said. My voice stayed flat and calm.

Cassian chuckled. He stepped further into the room. He waved a crumpled piece of white paper in the air.

"This isn't your house anymore," he told me. "Your father is dead. You are an unmarried female without a mate. Under the old pack laws, that makes you a dependent of the Alpha. I just signed the paperwork with the elders. I am officially your legal guardian."

My stomach twisted in disgust. The sheer audacity of this man made my blood boil.

"You broke our engagement an hour ago," I reminded him. "You have no claim over me."

"And you threw a fit in front of my entire pack," Cassian snapped back. His smile vanished, replaced by a greedy glare. "You embarrassed me. Now I have to fix your mess. I am taking over your family vault tonight. I need those funds to pay for my wedding to Clara. I also need to rebuild the southern border and pay the winter guards. You owe this pack your loyalty."

"I owe you nothing," I answered.

"You are going to spend the next few weeks locked in my basement until you learn some respect," Cassian ignored my words. He turned his head and nodded to his guards. "Grab her. Drag her to the cells."

Two guards stepped forward. They bared their teeth, ready to drag me out of my own home.

"Wait," Clara whispered. She stepped out from behind his back. She looked at me with wide innocent eyes. "Sylvia, just apologize. If you say you are sorry and accept your place as an Omega, maybe Cassian won't lock you in the dark. Please don't make this harder than it has to be. Give him the vault keys. We can all still be a family."

I stared at her. I didn't yell. I didn't cry. The burning anger inside me quickly turned into freezing ice. They really thought I was the same weak pathetic girl from the original story. They thought they could steal my money and throw me in a dungeon.

"Stand down," I ordered the guards.

I walked over to the large mahogany desk in the corner of the room. I opened the top drawer and pulled out a thick stack of black stamped documents. I walked back to the center of the room and threw them onto the glass coffee table. The heavy papers hit the glass with a loud smack.

"Read them," I ordered Cassian.

Cassian frowned. He looked down at the table but didn't move his hands. "What is this nonsense?"

"Pick them up and read them," I challenged him.

Cassian snatched the papers off the table. His eyes scanned the first page. His confident posture slowly cracked.

"Those are foreclosure papers," I explained. I kept my voice icy and deliberate. "The Kensington estate actually owns the deed to the Mercer packhouse. The money my father gave you wasn't a gift. It was a business loan based on our marriage contract. Because you broke the engagement tonight, the loan is in default."

Cassian stared at me. The arrogant smile finally fell off his face. His hands started to shake.

"You have exactly twenty four hours to vacate your own home," I continued. I took a step closer to him, letting him see the pure confidence in my eyes. "Take your guards and your new Omega with you. If you aren't gone by tomorrow night, I will have the human banks bulldoze the entire building to the ground."

"You are lying!" Clara gasped. She grabbed Cassian's arm. "Cassian, tell her she can't do this! The packhouse belongs to the Alpha!"

"She has the deed," Cassian whispered. His voice trembled with shock.

Then the shock turned into pure rage. His face turned a violent shade of purple. The veins in his neck bulged against his skin. He realized I trapped him. He realized he just lost his home and his pride in front of his elite guards. He lost everything in a single night.

"You crazy bitch!" Cassian screamed.

He lunged at me. He raised his heavy fist, aiming straight for my jaw. He wanted to break my face.

I didn't even flinch.

Before Cassian could touch a single hair on my head, a dark blur moved past me.

Julian caught Cassian's fist in midair.

A suffocating aura exploded through the room. Julian released his pure Lycan dominance. The pressure felt heavier than a collapsing building. The air grew thick and cold. The four elite guards instantly dropped to their knees. They clawed at their own throats, choking and gasping for air under the dark magic. Clara fell to the floor, weeping in pure terror.

Julian stood tall, holding the Alpha's fist with zero effort. The dark cloak fell back from his shoulders, revealing his scarred chest and glowing golden eyes. The feral beast from the fighting pit was gone. A deadly ancient king stood in his place.

Cassian's eyes widened in horror. He stared at the golden eyes of the true heir. He tried to pull his hand away, but Julian held him firmly in place.

Julian slowly twisted Cassian's wrist.

A loud crack echoed through the silent room. Bones snapped and shattered under Julian's brutal grip.

"Ahhh!" Cassian screamed in sheer agony. He dropped to his knees, clutching his broken arm against his chest. Tears of pain streamed down his face.

Julian stood over the kneeling Alpha. He looked down at the man who stole his throne. He looked at Cassian like he was a piece of trash stuck to the bottom of his shoe.

Julian smiled down at him. "Don't touch my mate.”
