Freda’s POV.

I was supposed to celebrate love and reconciliation that night, a chance for me to finally settle things with my ex-fiancé, Darren.

Liam had been helping me plan the party, putting in efforts to arrange everything perfectly.

I poured all my love and attention into the details of the evening, wanting to show Darren how much I still cared for him and to prove that we were meant to be together.

When Ruby arrived, my heart raced with anticipation. I was ready to embark on a new chapter with Darren, one filled with love, forgiveness, and hope.

But as the night progressed, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off.

The Darren who had walked into my house just minutes ago was now completely different.

Darren seemed distant and distracted, giving off the impression that he was preoccupied with something else.

I tried to brush off my concerns, rationalizing that maybe he was just nervous about our reconciliation.

But as the night went on, my anxi
