Chapter 22 FREDA’S POV Sadly, Liam has been going through so much lately..... Yeah, I managed to get him a phone so he could use to while away time or maybe explore the internet whenever he’s alone so he would while away his time whenever I’m not there. The last conversation I had with him made me know that in as much as he’s trying to cover up, he’s been very emotional of recent. FLASHBACK While I was leaving the house to go run some errands, Liam called out to me from the couch. "Freda, can I talk to you for a minute?" he asked. "Sure, what's up?" I replied, turning to face him. "I just wanted to say thank you for everything you've done for me," he said, his eyes looking watery. "I know I haven't been the best company lately, and I've been a real burden on you." "You're not a burden, Liam," I said, sitting down next to him on the couch. "I care about you, and I want to help you through this." “And you’ve also been the best company one could ever ask of,” I added. "I know,
CHAPTER 23 LIAM’S POV. I’ve managed to come out of my shell, and I was glad that I overcame it quickly. I’ve been feeling weird of recent but I know I need to ignore whatever this feeling was just to be there for Freda. Freda was going through a lot and I swore that I was beginning to feel uncomfortable of the fact that she was thinking about my well-being despite facing all these. My phone’s ringtone jolted me back to reality and a light smile appeared on my face when I saw Freda as the caller ID. “Hey,” Her voice echoed and I chuckled lightly. I was happy that she was happy, even though I knew that it wouldn’t last long. “How are you?” I smiled lightly. “I’m okay, although I called to check up on you,” She said, her voice was loud and full of life. It was enough to ensure that she was okay. “I’m good,” I smiled and paused. “When are you coming back? I was thinking if we could watch a movie together,” I said “I’ll be back soon, and I’ll surely love to watch a movie with y
CHAPTER 24Author’s POV. Liam and Freda has been trying their best to be each other’s keeper. Liam has been battling with his vision he’s been seeing recently. But today’s own was different, as he saw a blurred image of himself addressing people. They were in a big room with a wide table, some kind of meeting or an announcement that they have been invited. He heard the same words over and over again. “…and we hope to bring new things into the......” He didn’t hear the last part and it confused him the more. The image was still blurry and Liam couldn’t make out what they said but it made him sad.He wondered what exactly was happening to him and why things were appearing in bits. Liam felt like there was something missing from him. Something important, something that could change him for the better. And it was all just too much for Liam to cope with.He needed to cool his head, or just do something to distract him from whatever is beginning to happen to him. Maybe then he would
CHAPTER 25 FREDA’S POV. I don’t know if I found it difficult to move on from Darren or if I was just being stupid. I knew that the way I acted with Liam yesterday was so odd and weird, that I knew that the latter would be wondering if I was okay. How could I act indifferent to a news like that? How could my ex fiancé that broke my heart, suddenly show up to start hurting my patient—my friend. I picked up my phone and dialed his number. I waited patiently for it to ring, but it suddenly disconnected. It seemed he was out of a network coverage area, so that was why it didn’t connect. I sighed and dropped my phone on the desk with so much hatred coursing in my veins. I hated Darren so much, but deep down I knew I still loved him. I suddenly became confused about the particular feeling I had towards him, yet I still couldn’t place a finger on it. I remembered the way I had dodged Liam this morning and anything that would make him bring up the topic of us discussing whenever I w

She has also not heard from Darren and it seemed more like she had forgotten about him, including Ruby. Liam on the other hand was going through a lot. He has been seeing his body shift into things he didn’t know. It was more like a puzzle for him to fix. At times, it comes like a dream, while at times, it comes like a vision. Sometimes it comes in dreams when he is sleeping but sometimes, it will come in vivid dreams during moments of waking. He has lost a lot of weight and looks so tired. He also hasn’t stopped thinking about Freda and hoped she was
CHAPTER 27 LIAM’S POV. Freda was ready to leave, yet I was shaking in nervousness. I wasn’t ready to be left alone in the house again, because I was beginning to be scared of my dreams—memories. “I’d need to find a job seriously,” I said, but didn’t know when I said it loudly. “What?” She asked with a weird look on her face, and I widened my eyes in shock. I didn’t know when I said it out....It was just meant to remain in my head. I flicked my head numerous times with a look of an apology, but Freda wasn’t ready to buy that. “Really,” She said and continued almost immediately when she didn’t get any response from me, “I thought we’ve spoken about this,” “Yeah, so it’s a slip of tongue,” I said and she stared at me for a while, before she ventured out of the house without a single word. She got straight into her car and after a few minutes, the engine ignited. Seconds after, She drove out speedily. It seemed like I didn’t even have time to say goodbye to her—or anything, re
CHAPTER 28FREDA’S POVThis past few weeks has been a good one for both Liam and I.. We spent most of their time together and that was cool for them. At least, We have become free with each other to the extent that we freely hug each other without feeling weird. Liam follows me wherever I go so he can be able to distract himself, and it’s been working except that he doesn’t follow me to work. That morning while Liam was in the living room, sipping some coffee, I walked downstairs quickly. I Wore a five inch black heels with a fitted black gown and a black purse. I was rushing out of the house when Liam suddenly stopped me with a creased brows. That’s the first time he saw me wear a heel to the office coupled with the fact that I was rushing out. He wanted to confirm if I was actually going to the office, but to his surprise I replied affirmatively. “How come?” He asked me and it was my turn to be confused. “Why are you rushing out, coupled with the fact that you dressed reall
CHAPTER 29LIAM’S POV. It has been a week since I opened up to Freda about my visions—Memories. I thought she had forgotten about it, until I caught her red handed today. She was surfing the internet, and I appeared behind her, but to my surprise...She was searching of what it meant when a amnesiac patient was remembering things, but instead, the patient do see himself turning into things he can’t decipher. I was so shocked when I saw it, but because of how engrossed she was, she never noticed I was behind her. She didn’t notice me standing there for over an hour, watching her as she surfed through websites, scrolls and documents—research on memory disorders. It was a fascinating read. She found that a few patients who could recall their memories were able to interpret these fragments only after a while. Some patients remembered them for years—months, even years—as if they were in their late thirties, sometimes older, sometimes younger. They are usually extremely intelligent
