CHAPTER 7

"Eva is not that kind of a girl. She will never do that to me." Ethan said to Luna after listening to her words.

"Brother Ethan, don't be naive. Have you not noticed the changes in Eva? She has stopped arguing with you when you go out with me, even when you bring me to the house, She never complains. Instead, she goes out of her way to give us space, and she is never around. She stays away more and avoids staying in the same place as you."

Ethan said to himself, "Could what luna said be true? Does Eva have another man in her life, someone he doesn't know about? Ethan decided to find out the truth, and he decided to keep a close eye on Eva as he spent more time in Luna's company in the future.

After a week of staying away, Ethan was not in the house, and for a whole week, I did not hear from Ethan. The only times I got to know of his movement was through Luna's moments on wechat, where she posts how well Ethan was treating her.

It wasn't until a week after I came back and went grocery shopping with my friend Arail that I saw Ethan. When he saw me, he pretended like he didn't see us until my friend called them out," The scumbag and the slut, a peer made in hell, look at them acting like a couple , one would think they are the real couple. shameless people. Luna, are you not ashamed of yourself? is it that you like eating trash so much that you've lost sight of how dirty you are?

"Arail, mind you words!. Ethan boomed,"Eva, control your friend. "

"Arail is an adult, Ethan. I can't tell her what to do. Besides, is any of what she said wrong? Are you not out with Luna? Is she your girlfriend?. I demanded in anger, after deciding to let go, I still find out that it still hurt little seeing them together.

"Oh. so you think hitting a woman is the only thing that can make a man a scumbag? what of all the times you and your little mistress bullied my friend . what of those times you will be intimate with your mistress and when my friend comes in, you will pretend like you are innocent? Let me tell you Ethan. you're not just a scumbag ,you're darm right ungrateful.

After making sure that my friend has vented enough, I said, "Arail, leave them ,let's go, there is no need for you to get worked up over people like these."

Ethan stood stunned, his face pale as he heard my words as he thought to himself, "So Eva has truly given up on me,?." because if it were before, Eva will never allow Arail to speak to him like that.When Luna tried to hold his hand, he pushed her away and walked out of tha mall alone.

When I got back that evening after spending the whole day with my friend, I met Ethan drunk, at home, sitting in darkness.

When he saw me come in, he tried to stand up and hold my hand, I dorged him and went to the bedroom, he followed behind me.

"Eva, are you breaking up with me?

"Ethan, you're drunk. You're not thinking straight. we will talk when you're sober."

"IS it because of Luna? tell me if it's because of her, I will limit my movements with her."

I looked at him for a long time, really looked at him, that halo that I used to see him in has disappeared, standing before him now, I see him for what who truly is,, "A bully and a pretender. A scumbag through and through, I wondered for the first time what I truly saw in him.

In a careless tone, I said, "Ethan. you know what you did."

"Eva, I will change, I will limit my closeness with Luna, and I will spend more time with you. let's not breakup okay?."

"Not he will stop seeing Luna,but limit how many times he sees her." I said to myself

"Ethan, please, I need to sleep. let's talk tomorrow. "

"Okay, Eva, go to bed on time, I will sleep in the guestroom so I don't disturb your sleep. "

"I wanted to take my things to the guestroom to sleep, but now that he had volunteered to sleep there on his own, it's for the best." I thought as I walked in.

"Okay, Ethan, goodnight. "
