David's voice sounded distant, more like it was coming from under water. Christian didn’t answer immediately. His fingers tightened around the glass, his jaw clenched as he stared into thin air unfocused. He wasn’t ok, he couldn’t take it anymore, his problem wasn’t the alcohol or even the noise he just hated the fact that a woman was living in his home. “What’s going on boss?” David asked again, this time lowering his head to know exactly what the problem is. “I’m fine ... .just let me be” his vision was blurry but he was still trying to sit strong. “You genuinely do not look fine boss, I think you drank too much,” David worried. “I said I am fine!” That was the turning point. David leaned back studying him quietly, he knew when to stop pushing especially when it came to his complicated boss. Christain poured another glass for himself as he gulped it down his throat. “Oh my God, sir you need to calm down” David warned. He knew his boss so well, he had zero alcohol tolerance, he'd get drunk from just a cup and right now it felt as if he wanted to kill himself. Just when he felt like the whole situation wouldn’t get any worse Christian’s phone started to ring. David stared at the screen and he was shocked. “Sir….. your mom is calling?” He whispered Of course he knew he was in big trouble, she’d blame him for allowing Christian drink this much. “Oh fuck! You guys should leave me alone” Christian aggressively replied. He was no longer himself, the effect of the alcohol has taken over completely and David was completely confused. He picked the phone and slowly responded to the woman over the other line. “Hello son? Where have you been all morning? The investors are already calling” she sounded worried. “Uhm… good morning ma’am we might have a bit of an issue” David responded, his voice shaking, he knew the amount of nagging he’d be getting in a few minutes time once he spilled the beans. “David, is that you? Put Christian on the line” she demanded. “Actually ma’am the boss is drunk and he’s in a really terrible condition and I can’t help me alone I need help” “What!!!!! You say WHAT!!!” Her voice echoed through the phone. David almost threw the phone away in fear. “David, I think you’re mad! You have one fucking job and that’s to make sure my son is ok and what did you do, you went ahead to let him drunk to stupor and you know Chrstian doesn’t have any tolerance for alcohol” her voice sounded like a great thunder storm. “I’m sorry ma’am but I was on my leave, I just walked into the restaurant when I saw….” “Oh please shut up! Daniella!!!!” She screamed over the phone. “Yes ma’am” David could hear the beautiful voice of a lady. He was confused “Uhm sorry ma are you at the boss house?” He asked, trying to be sure he didn’t miss heard, he had worked for Chrstian for more than 14 years and he knew Benson would never bring in a woman into the house, not for any reason. The only woman he had seen was Angella and she was always sticking around Christian’s mom, she dare not speak directly to him. “Of course!” The woman rudely answered and then turned back to Daniella. “I am going to send you a phone number just call him and find the location of Christian make sure you get my son back home” she screamed and walked away. Daniella stood there with her heart beating, of course he was a child he knew he couldn’t tolerate alcohol but yet he just wants to make her life a living hell. She groaned inside of her as she walked out of the living room heading up stairs to pick her phone. “What kind of a man doesn’t tolerate alcohol” she muttered under her breath as she picked her phone from the bed and headed straight outside the building going to look for Christian at the said location. When Daniella got to the restaurant David was shocked, he stared at her from top to bottom, this has to be one of the most beautiful ladies he has ever come across, of course she didn’t do too much. Daniella was dressed in her usual boyfriend crazy jeans, a baggy top that swallowed her curvy shape, her hair packed into a bum one would see her and call her homeless. But regardless she just couldn’t hide her resistible beauty. “Uhm … hello you’re ?” David found himself stammering as his eyes stayed fixed on the young lady whose eyes didn’t leave Christian’s face as she watched him misbehave in his drunk state. “Daniella nice to meet you, I’m Christian’s new house help” she was straight plain and not one bit flirty. This was unusual, to David every lady that had come across Christian wanted to have a one night stand with him, but this she was different, at this point she genuinely found Christian irritating and this made him laugh. “I’m sorry I am David his personal assistant, his always like this when ever he drinks” “So how possible is it that a grown ass man doesn’t have any tolerance for alcohol?” Daniella asked as she walked over to Christian pulling him up. “Let go of me” he growled and she glared at him with anger “please where is the car?” She asked as David stood there staring in amazement. “Wow, you’re something else” he whispered as he led the way heading to the car. On getting to the car Daniella pulled Christian inside and closed the door behind her just when the car was about to start he puked all over her. “Oh my God!” This was the height of it, she was definitely going to lose her mind because of this annoying freak. “What did you …” she screamed but Christian was already closing his eyes slowly, almost falling asleep. It felt like she was talking to a ghost because he was already lost as a result of the drink. “I’m so sorry” David apologized as he sat in the staring wheel. “It’s fine let’s just go home” Daniella responded trying to calm her nerves down before she loses her temper and kills him right there and then. Daniella pulled off her top leaving just the bra singlet she had on Christian tore his eyes open as they dropped on her cleavage he couldn’t stare away. It looked soft plumpy like something he wanted to get his hands on. “Damn” he groaned his eyes not moving away “What is wrong with you?” Daniella screamed.“Hello, boss.”For one long second, Christian genuinely forgot how to breathe. The ballroom around him disappeared completely. The music became distant noise. The flashing cameras, the laughter, the expensive conversations happening around them all faded into nothing the moment he saw her face beneath the silver mask.“Daniella…?”Her lips curved slightly at the sound of her name leaving his mouth. “Missed me?”Christian stared at her like he was seeing a ghost. Days. They had spent days searching every corner of the city for her. He had barely slept. Barely eaten. His men searched hospitals, ports, underground connections, abandoned buildings. Nothing. And now she was standing in front of him looking absolutely breathtaking. The black satin dress wrapped around her body perfectly, the fabric gliding against her skin with every small movement. Her dark hair rested elegantly over one shoulder while the diamonds around her neck sparkled beneath the ballroom
The mansion was unusually quiet that night. Too quiet. The massive grandfather clock downstairs echoed softly through the empty hallways while cold rain tapped lightly against the giant glass windows surrounding the house. Inside the dimly lit study upstairs, Christian sat alone behind his desk, his jaw tight and his expression unreadable. But the silence around him was dangerous because inside his head, chaos was happening.Daniella.Everything kept coming back to her. The accident. The blood. The fact that she disappeared without a trace. For the first time in years, Christian genuinely felt powerless, and honestly, he hated every second of it.A knock suddenly came from the door.Christian did not look up. “What?”The door slowly opened and David stepped inside carefully. One glance at Christian’s face alone told him immediately that tonight was not the night to say the wrong thing.“Boss,” David started cautiously, “we searched every location connected to
Daniella froze completely after hearing the man’s words. For a few seconds, she simply stared at him like her brain had stopped functioning properly. Her breathing slowly became uneven while her fingers tightened against the ropes tied around her wrists. The room suddenly felt too small. Too cold. Too heavy.“W… what?” she whispered weakly. The man stood quietly in front of her, his expression unreadable. “You heard me.”Daniella shook her head slowly as tears instantly gathered inside her eyes again. “No… no, you’re lying.”The man sighed softly before walking toward the small table standing beside the wall. He picked up a thick brown file and dropped it heavily onto the table in front of her.“Do you think I would kidnap you just to tell you stories?” he asked calmly.Daniella stared at him silently.“How do you know about my father?” she finally asked shakily. “How exactly do you know what happened to him?”The man slowly pulled a chair and sat dow
The SUV crashed violently into the ditch with a deafening sound that shook the entire road. Metal twisted painfully against metal while shattered glass exploded everywhere inside the vehicle. The car flipped once before landing upside down with terrifying force. For a few long seconds, everything became silent. Then came the smell of smoke.Daniella coughed violently as blood trickled slowly from the side of her forehead down her cheek. Her ears rang painfully while her entire body screamed in agony from the impact. Every part of her hurt. Her ribs burned. Her ankle felt broken. Even breathing felt painful. She groaned softly and forced her eyes open properly. The car was upside down. The driver sat motionless in front, blood covering part of the windshield. The man beside her was unconscious, his head hanging awkwardly against the broken window.Smoke slowly filled the car.Panic gripped Daniella immediately. The vehicle could explode at any mome
Blood. Everywhere. The second the woman dragged the penknife hard across her own throat, blood splattered violently against the wall and floor instantly. Daniella froze. Her entire body locked in place as the cleaner collapsed heavily onto the ground in front of her, choking violently on her own blood. The horrifying sound echoed through the empty hallway while red spread rapidly beneath the woman’s trembling body. For one terrifying second, Daniella could not breathe. Her brain completely stopped working. “Oh my God…” The whisper escaped her lips shakily. The woman’s body twitched again. Blood bubbled out from her throat. The woman grabbed Daniella’s wrist tightly. Daniella gasped loudly in shock. “Run…” the woman choked weakly. “Run before….” Her words cut off completely. Her hand dropped lifelessly onto the floor. And just
Daniella’s heartbeat pounded violently inside her chest the moment Christian pulled her into his arms. For one long second, she completely froze beneath his touch. His warmth wrapped around her carefully while his hand rested firmly against her back, holding her close enough for her to hear the slow rhythm of his breathing. And somehow…That terrified her.Because nothing about this was fake.Nothing about this felt like part of some operation anymore.Quickly, Daniella pulled away from the hug almost immediately like she had just remembered something dangerous. Her breathing came out uneven as she stepped backward slightly, her fingers tightening around the ice pack still resting in her hand.Christian blinked once slowly. For the first time in a very long time, he genuinely looked unsure of himself. His jaw tightened slightly before he looked away briefly. “Are you okay?”Daniella quickly nodded even though she clearly was not okay at all. “Yeah
