“Stand straight. If you slouch again you’d walk out of that door and never return.”
The girl behind Daniella adjusted herself immediately.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered, turning her face around to make sure she didn’t embarrass herself in front of the other girls.
“Sorry? Really?” another voice scoffed from behind
“You think he picks weak girls? You’re not even going to stand a chance” the lady standing beside Daniella muttered under her breath.
“As if any of us would be picked?” A tall slim girl whispered
The room went silent. It was true Christian Harper had never lived with any woman not even as a house help, he was so tight, mysterious and extremely secretive.
He’d prefer his male business partners over having any females around, he was already 32 and not ready to settle and get married to any woman, something about him hated the opposite gender with passion, and for some reason this got his mother worried.
She had tried several times to hook him up on a blind date but for some reasons the only thing that mattered to Benson was his wealth and his business.
So right now she’s using a different tactic to get him to get married, by getting him a house help even though he had tons of male cleaners she just wanted to see a woman in the house.
Angella on the other hand met Christian at a get together party a few months ago and for some reason she found him not only attractive but surprisingly sweet, for a man who literally had no social life and would always frown at the sight of a woman.
She literally became so obsessed and somehow found her way into his home and finally getting to meet his mother, but it was obvious Christian had no interest in her so she automatically became a pest always following his mother around trying to win the heart of a man who had never shown concern to a woman.
Daniella on the other hand stood on the extreme end of the room, her eyes sharp scrawling through the other girls as she watched them bragged on how they would win the heart of Christian, she smiled softly, her mouth shut.
The other girls were trying too hard dressed sexually, tight dresses, glossed lips, cleavage on display.
Every single one of them dressed like they were here to be married and not to get a job.
Daniella's eyes lingered around the room, she was studying it.
The light was dim casting a deep red hue across the walls, the kind of lighting that felt controlling, the marble floors were polished to perfection reflecting everything like a mirror. Even the air felt expensive.
The house seemed a bit off, Daniella knew she didn’t come from wealth but then she had visited some wealthy buildings but this was different, not the guards positioning at the extreme end and standing molded statue or the camera’s carefully hidden where careless eyes couldn’t notice.
Everything about this place screamed power and gave a mysterious vibe.
And Daniella noticed it all, because unlike the others she was here on a mission.
The door flung open, every conversation died instantly.
A woman in her early 20s walked in, her heels clicking against the marble floors with complete precision.
Her eyes scanned the room sharp and unimpressed, taking notice of every lady standing in front of her, the perfume she wore suffocating the room but no one dared to make a sound.
“So this is what you all chose to wear?” Her voice grew angrily
“You’re invited to work as cleaners not to present yourselves as prostitute to my boyfriend”
The room burst into confusion, everywhere silent as a grave yard but the confusion in their eyes went unnoticed
Just by looking at their eyes you could read their hearts. Since when did Christian Harper keep girlfriends? Danielle stayed fixed on the young lady, her eyes without emotions. She was too calm.
Before she could mention another word the door flinged open again and just then she walked in. She needed no introduction, Christian’s mother didn’t need to raise her voice to command attention.
“Stand properly,” she said, her voice calm but firm, the girls stood in straight lines.
She walked through them slowly, observing each girl with a level of scrutiny that made it clear she was missing nothing. She lifted the First Ladies chin, turned her around slapped her eyes
“Hmm… too hard” she was plain
She moved to the second one tore her top open squeezed her nipples, the girl’s eyes tweaked as she let out a little moan.
She glared at her and moved over to the third lady. She pushed her hands up, smelt her pit hole, rolled her eyes and now it was time for Daniella she walked up to her and gashed her teeth.
She pressed her face close to hers and her mouth to her ears she whispered “hope you know you’d never cut the match” her voice thick and serious
Daniella said nothing, her eyes fixed into thin air and just then the door tore open
“‘Mom?” A thick strong voice extremely controlling and would definitely turn everyone on
Christian Harper! He walked into the room unannounced, scanned the girls and then turned back to his mother as if the girls being there had nothing to do with him, In fact they felt like they didn’t exist.
“Mom I would be leaving for the business deal I would be home late” he softly spoke and made an attempt to walk away
“Christain?” His mother called shocked at his ignorant behavior
“Yes mom?” He turned pretending not to notice what was right in front of him
“This!” His mother signaled him
“We’ve done this before,” he said, glancing at his mother. “You already know I won’t pick any of them.”
He turned slightly clearly ready to leave again
And then he paused and it felt like he had seen wrongly.
His brain caught something, he was sure of it.
He turned back and looked at the girls, his gaze landing on Daniella.
She wasn’t trying, she wasn’t competing, the aura from her felt different, she wasn’t even looking at him and this drove him to curiosity.
Everyone looked at his confused and surprised face, they followed his gaze and yes it was on Daniella.
Even the lady from earlier was silently watching him.
Christian stepped close to her, his presence felt heavier but Daniella didn’t flinch. He looked at her trying to figure something out
“How did she…..”
“I knew you’d never make the cut” Angella the woman who walked in earlier snapped
“You!” His voice brought the room back to its quiet state
“I will take her” for a moment everyone gazed at each other
The decision was too sudden, how? What?
Daniella stood calm, not surprised like she had anticipated this moment all along, his mother nodded her head without question.
Christain walked out
“Who are you?” Angella rushed to Daniella grabbing her by the collar but as usual she stayed calculated and quite
“If you ever go close to my man I will behead you” she was stern, raw and angry.
The second Daniella realized what she had done, her eyes widened dramatically.“Oh my God.”Christian looked down slowly at the vomit covering the front of his expensive black shirt before closing his eyes briefly like he was questioning every life decision that had brought him to this exact moment.Around them, several guests stared openly.A few women gasped quietly.Someone even whispered, “Did she just throw up on Christian Harper?”Daniella immediately covered her mouth with both hands. “I’m so sorry,” she said drunkenly. “I didn’t mean to….”Christian grabbed her wrist before she could continue embarrassing both of them further.“We’re leaving.”“But the party….”“We’re leaving,” he repeated firmly.Without another word, Christian immediately pulled her away from the hallway while curious eyes followed them everywhere. Daniella stumbled slightly in her heels while trying to keep up beside him.Honestly, she was too drunk to even
The moment Daniella ended the call, her entire expression changed instantly. The softness disappeared. The tension returned. Slowly, she slipped her phone back into her purse before taking a deep breath and walking back into the ballroom like nothing had happened. The gala was even louder now. Music echoed beautifully beneath the giant chandeliers while masked guests laughed, danced, and moved elegantly across the marble floors. Expensive perfume filled the air alongside the scent of alcohol and luxury. Daniella exhaled slowly before grabbing a glass of champagne from a passing waiter. Then another. And another. Honestly? She needed it. Too much had happened tonight already. Christian pinning her against the wall. The way he looked at her. The way his voice softened when he told her not to run away again. It was messing with her head badly. So instead of
“Hello, boss.”For one long second, Christian genuinely forgot how to breathe. The ballroom around him disappeared completely. The music became distant noise. The flashing cameras, the laughter, the expensive conversations happening around them all faded into nothing the moment he saw her face beneath the silver mask.“Daniella…?”Her lips curved slightly at the sound of her name leaving his mouth. “Missed me?”Christian stared at her like he was seeing a ghost. Days. They had spent days searching every corner of the city for her. He had barely slept. Barely eaten. His men searched hospitals, ports, underground connections, abandoned buildings. Nothing. And now she was standing in front of him looking absolutely breathtaking. The black satin dress wrapped around her body perfectly, the fabric gliding against her skin with every small movement. Her dark hair rested elegantly over one shoulder while the diamonds around her neck sparkled beneath the ballroom
The mansion was unusually quiet that night. Too quiet. The massive grandfather clock downstairs echoed softly through the empty hallways while cold rain tapped lightly against the giant glass windows surrounding the house. Inside the dimly lit study upstairs, Christian sat alone behind his desk, his jaw tight and his expression unreadable. But the silence around him was dangerous because inside his head, chaos was happening.Daniella.Everything kept coming back to her. The accident. The blood. The fact that she disappeared without a trace. For the first time in years, Christian genuinely felt powerless, and honestly, he hated every second of it.A knock suddenly came from the door.Christian did not look up. “What?”The door slowly opened and David stepped inside carefully. One glance at Christian’s face alone told him immediately that tonight was not the night to say the wrong thing.“Boss,” David started cautiously, “we searched every location connected to
Daniella froze completely after hearing the man’s words. For a few seconds, she simply stared at him like her brain had stopped functioning properly. Her breathing slowly became uneven while her fingers tightened against the ropes tied around her wrists. The room suddenly felt too small. Too cold. Too heavy.“W… what?” she whispered weakly. The man stood quietly in front of her, his expression unreadable. “You heard me.”Daniella shook her head slowly as tears instantly gathered inside her eyes again. “No… no, you’re lying.”The man sighed softly before walking toward the small table standing beside the wall. He picked up a thick brown file and dropped it heavily onto the table in front of her.“Do you think I would kidnap you just to tell you stories?” he asked calmly.Daniella stared at him silently.“How do you know about my father?” she finally asked shakily. “How exactly do you know what happened to him?”The man slowly pulled a chair and sat dow
The SUV crashed violently into the ditch with a deafening sound that shook the entire road. Metal twisted painfully against metal while shattered glass exploded everywhere inside the vehicle. The car flipped once before landing upside down with terrifying force. For a few long seconds, everything became silent. Then came the smell of smoke.Daniella coughed violently as blood trickled slowly from the side of her forehead down her cheek. Her ears rang painfully while her entire body screamed in agony from the impact. Every part of her hurt. Her ribs burned. Her ankle felt broken. Even breathing felt painful. She groaned softly and forced her eyes open properly. The car was upside down. The driver sat motionless in front, blood covering part of the windshield. The man beside her was unconscious, his head hanging awkwardly against the broken window.Smoke slowly filled the car.Panic gripped Daniella immediately. The vehicle could explode at any mome
