Hannah's POV

I had lived so long being abused and insulted that I think I ended up getting used to some things. Being called a slut, a tramp, that didn't affect me anymore. Besides, I knew that girl was having problems and I had to be mature enough to ignore her offensive behavior.

Everyone there was too nervous and she was pushing everyone to the edge. If I didn't keep my cool, this could turn into a physical confrontation that everyone would regret later, so I took a deep breath and, remembering what Rubina said in the elevator, I took a step toward her. Her eyes widened when I approached.

"Look, Giovanna, look closely, so you never forget what a bad choice can do to us." I let her get a good look at me. "But if that's not enough, I can show you the photos the police took of me when they found me nearly dead in my ex-boyfriend's apartment, after he beat me up."
