Chapter Six

The morning was gloomy. I still didn’t get enough sleep on top of that my body ached. Every inch of me refused to move after all the sudden exercising I did yesterday. I still couldn’t shake my mind off of the eerie feeling I had of the place. Even my body knew I wasn’t home, it just wouldn’t rest.

I forced my legs down the stairs, not wanting to spend another minute in my room that wasn’t mine. The muddy yellow light coming from the huge windows was dizzying to see on the polished staircase. No one was in the living room. I checked the garden at the back and kitchen, but no one was there.

“This house is big enough to have a whole school.” I mumbled to myself.

I decided to stay in the drawing room first.
