Chapter 8

In Brian’s apartment, Maya made herself comfortable on the sofa and took a sip from the exotic wine in her glass. She smiled at the feeling she got from it and looked at Brian who looked like he was upset about something.

“Is anything the problem, hun? You have been moody since I moved into your house this morning. Tell me what is bothering you. Who knows, I might be able to help,” Maya said and smiled in the end, while also running her fingers around the tip of the glass.

Brian, who had been sitting quietly suddenly felt provoked by Maya’s words and he snapped at her, “Can you just not talk? Like, I need you to be quiet.”

“Hey! That is not the way to talk to your wife,” Maya said, pretending to look annoyed when in truth she was enjoying the moment.

“You are not even my wife,” Brian scoffed.

“But I will be in a week’s time,” Maya said and chuckled.
