XXV

Ever since Agatha's car exploded, she hasn't visited the police department for a couple of days. Kathy finds it to be good news, but she can't help but wonder too. What does it mean she ruined its purpose? Does it have a significant relationship between them and the show? What does Agatha know about the show? Those questions need to be answered as well as the show continues to air. She took a deep breath and decided to consult with the police chief.

"Hello, what is it?" The Police Chief asked her as soon as Kathy finally approached him.

"Do you know where Agatha lives?" Kathy asked.

"No, unfortunately, but I have her number instead." He grabbed his pen and a small note from his drawer, wrote down her phone number and gave it to her. "I don't know why you are looking for her, but here it is."

Kathy thanked him and immediately left for his office. She tried to contact her, but it took her three attempts before Agatha finally responded.

"Hello, this is private detective Agatha Brookes. How can I help you?"

"Hey Agatha, this is Kathy Jefferson. Can I talk to you for a moment in your house? It's about the incident with your car. "

"I was about to ask you how you knew about my number, but it doesn't matter. I will text my address to your phone. " Then, suddenly, Agatha hung down her phone. After a couple of minutes, Kathy finally received her exact address, which was three hours away from the office. She quickly went to her car and drove her all the way to Agatha's place. As soon as she arrived, she saw Agatha standing outside. Kathy got out from her car and checked her house for a moment. Her house is a modern Victorian house. There's no house nearby, or at least any sight of life from her surroundings.

"Welcome to my territory, Kathy. What made your decision to visit me?" Agatha asked her as she took a sip of a glass of wine from her right hand and took a sip of a cigarette from her left hand.

'This bitch is slowly killing herself.' Kathy thinks before she responds. "Well, it's about the incident with your car and the letter you received."

Agatha nods. "Good, come on in."

Kathy follows her as they enter the house. Kathy can't help but be amazed at what her living room looks like. The modern Victorian style was evident in the flooring, wall design, chairs, sofa, and her table. She noticed the picture on the wall. It's a picture of her and her father during their college graduation, yet none of them smile.

"You can look around in my living room for a moment." Agatha said as she went to her kitchen. Kathy looks at the pictures hanging on the wall. Her diploma, her first car, and her daughter's first birthday. She noticed one of the pictures was hidden behind the sofa. She quickly grabbed it and took a look at it.

It's a picture of a guy who looks exactly like her.

"Looks like you found a hidden picture. That's impressive." She heard Agatha speak. "Why don't you sit down and chat for a while?"

Kathy sat down with a picture on her hand and watched as Agatha placed a slice of sandwich and a glass of soda on the table. Agatha sat in front of her.

"Before we proceed to our topic, how's Jeffy doing?"

Kathy takes a bite from the sandwich. "He hasn't appeared ever since the funeral, probably still mourning. Poor guy."

"Ok, anyway about the incident with my car? It looks like he's aware of what I'm capable of. He probably feared that I might solve the case before the show finished. In particular, I already know his name.

Kathy went into shock as soon as she took the last bite of her sandwich. "You already know? How? "

"Simple, body language. I recognized all his body language and the way he spoke to the public. "Everything leads to the one person." She explained as she pointed to the picture. Kathy looks at the picture she's currently holding.

"That person is the host of the reality show, my half brother, Keith Patterson. "

Kathy accidentally dropped the picture, causing it to shatter on the floor.

"Not only that, I discovered everything. Not only from the host, but from you as well.Tell me if you've met him before. You know everything about the show, yet you refused to speak up because it might ruin not only your friendship with Jeffy but your reputation as a famous detective in the Crite State Area. I guess that's a reason why this letter appeared. He knows me the way I know him. That's why he blew my car as a warning.

Kathy can't help but be scared at her skills.

"Look, I might be a bitch, but it doesn't mean I'm a dumbass motherfucker, or should I fatherfucker since I fuck men." Agatha added as she drank all the wine left in her glass.

"How did you know about the host, your half brother?" Kathy asked her.

Well, you know, as a private detective, it's my job to search for someone's personal information, including my half brother's personal information. Ever since I learned that Keith is my half brother, I have secretly investigated everything about him. He must know that I'm her half sister because her mother told him. That's why I decided to not visit the Crite State Police Department because of his wish. Like I said, earlier, I knew everything about the show, its motivation, and the contestants. But I guess it's my time to act as a big sister in the illegal way. "

"But why don't you tell me everything? We can finally rescue the six remaining contestants. "

But Agatha laughed at her. "Don't act like a hero, Kathy. I know that you know this show very well, yet you act like an innocent. You can't save a person who's already gone, Kathy."

This made Kathy stand up and immediately leave the house.

"Can't stand the fact, aren't you?" She said as she took a last sip of her cigarette. "Ms. Katherine Jefferson."
