XXVII

Kathy went into shock as soon as the host finally removed the mask. The host congratulated the remaining contestants, but Katherine noticed one of the contestants went missing.

"Congratulations to the remaining contestants." The host congratulated them as he removed the mask, revealing himself. "As a celebration of surviving five weeks, we will hold a celebration on next Saturday, no deadly challenge. Now, let's go back to the assigned house, shall we?

The screen went black for a moment, then a word suddenly appeared for five seconds before it went to a static mode.

'Have you checked the notebook already?'

Kathy recalled what happened after the funeral. Fortunately, she decided to take the notebook with her, hoping she could bump the person who had accidently left it. She checked her drawer, where she decided to hide it and open it without any hesitation.

My Personal Journal.

Keith Patterson

She was about to read the first page when someone decided to knock on her door. She quickly hides it under her bed and heads to the door to greet a person.

"Agatha, what are you doing here?" Kathy asked her, but Agatha ignored the question and went inside without any hesitation. "How did you know my address?"

"The Notebook." Agatha dodged the question. "Where's the notebook? I know there's significant information that the notebook held. "

"Follow me." Kathy responded as she walked to her bedroom, while Agatha silently followed her. She quickly grabbed the notebook she'd stashed beneath her bed and handed it to her.Agatha quickly grabbed it and silently read the first journal out loud. As soon as she finished reading the first entry, she closed the notebook and handed it back.

"I knew it." Agatha commented under her breath. "He wants to take revenge on our father. I can't blame him though. "

"What do you mean you can't blame him though?"

Agatha simply laughed it off before she responded. "Clearly you knew nothing about Chief Gergor, weren't you? You see, he's not only famous in the Crite State Area as a police chief but also as a womanizer and a fuckboy. That old man is still fucking some women, but the worst part is he never paid any child support. Of course, none of the women he fucks had the courage to report the incident. My bastard father knows how to abuse his power whenever he wants to. " She decided to walk out of the room.

"Oh yeah, before I go, I recommend not giving any reports to the Chief. Keep it secret between us just for the sake of the show. Remember, you are also a contestant. "

Kathy watched as she left the room in shock.

OOO

Kathy noticed Jeff was currently sleeping in his work office. It's been a couple of days since she last saw him sleeping on the office desk. She decided to ignore him for a moment and sat at her assigned desk. She secretly pulled out the journal notebook and read the second journal.

Journal No.2

I need to search for the contestant. I think ten is enough for the show. But unfortunately, I can't choose recklessly or pick up on a random street. I'm going to pretend as a shark loan, as usual where they can get whatever the money they want. Of course, they don't have to pay their debt, but all I need is to persuade them to murder a loved one in order to be free of so-called debt. But what would happen if they didn't obey my order? Simple. I can kill their loved one instead and put a set up that causes them to be framed for the crime they didn't commit. I will make sure the crime scene is brutal as hell. But some of my victims are gullible enough to kill their loved ones since they are greedy, but that doesn't mean they are free from my little show. I will call them out until they decide to end their life instead. 999999

Of course, before I hand them the money they want, I always put an omega tattoo on their arm as a sign.

I noticed some of them wanted a million dollars since the task was too simple for them to commit a crime. My money shows their dark side, their true color. So far, I only have three hundred victims.

The reason why I did this is because I want to make sure the Crite State Area becomes famous from this. This will gain some attraction. The plan was working.

I will make certain that I am the reason for the Crite State Police Department's fame, as well as the reason for their demise.

I will make sure that will happen.

"Hey, Kathy." Kathy jumped as soon she heard Jeff talk to her. "I have some coffee for you."

Kathy took a few breaths before she accepted the iced coffee he offered and thanked him.

I know losing a wife and a daughter was a tough one, especially since I loved them so much. They are the reason why I work so hard as a public detective in the Crite State Area.

"Grief is normal when you lose someone important in your life. I also experienced that. That's why I didn't bother you for a couple of days. I hope you finally accepted it and moved forward in your life, Jeff. If you want someone to talk about your girlfriend, you can call me. Besides, I'm your partner in investigation and your best pal.

Jeff smiled at her. "Thank you, Kathy, but can you do me a favor for a while?"

Kathy nods as she looks at him.

"Can you visit me at my house tomorrow after your duty? I have something important to show you." I can't tell you here since it's kind of too personal for me to discuss in public, if that's okay with you. "

"Sure, no problem."

Jeff thanked her and went back to work, but Kathy can't help but feel something is off with Jeff today. In particular, she knew Jeff would never invite her to his house.

Is he okay?
