The feel of him, the heat, the low grunts brushing against my ear as he moved in and out of me was intoxicating.
I cling to Ashton, my nails biting into his shoulder as he thrusts into me deeper. My back arches, my breasts pressing to his bare chest as I flutter out a moan. "Oh A-
"Winter," Axel moans in my ear, his lips brushing against the shell just as I freeze when I realize that who was inside me wasn't my best friend Ashton but his twin brother, Axel.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I didn't feel comfortable. The loud music, the stares....even though they were not directed at me but my 6' best friend Ashton, was still unnerving.
My gaze drop to the floor, my shoulders brushing against Ashton's arm as I shift closer to him nervously. As if sensing my unease, he flings an arm over my shoulder and pulled me close while he pushes us through the throng of partygoers.
"Hey Ashton," a petite blonde who twirls her hair with her finger calls out to him as we approach. Ashton gave her an acknowledged nod but I was certain he hadn't had a clue who that was.
I flushed when she sent me a glare, and squirmed when I caught a few others giving me that same dirty look.
I should expect that all eyes would be on us since Ashton was one of the hottest guys attending Boston University. But sometimes I forget how truly handsome my best friend was.
I bit the inside of my cheek. I didn't want to come to this stupid party but Ashton insisted that since they won the hockey game tonight, I should be by his side to celebrate.
The last thing I wanted was to be at a pool party. Especially when I was not comfortable being seen in a bikini. But I wanted to be there for him. Especially since he was one of my only friends.
As my eyes roamed around, my shoulders slacked a bit. All the girls were dressed for the occasion with skimpy bikinis while I had settled to wear a t-shirt and jean shorts. Fair, I did have a bikini underneath all of that but I wouldn't dare show it off.
Not when it was two sizes smaller than me now, since I had grown too much out of it. Perks of never really being a swimmer or having the money to buy a new one.
"There he is," Ashton grumbles under his breath as he leads us to the double sliding doors that lead to the outdoor pool.
My eyes quickly land on 'him' the guy who perhaps I should reveal was Ashton's twin brother Axel.
He was already staring at us, well at me with his heterochromia eyes. Dark brown and green. A beautiful combination for a jerk of a human.
While Ashton was always sweet and friendly to me, his twin brother Axel, who was two inches taller than Ashton and had darker hair was an asshole towards me. He saw fit to always taunt and tease me.
The corner of his lips lifts into a small smirk when we are near, his eyes roaming over me. I'm not sure why but I shivered. Must've been the cool wind.
"Ah pipsqueak, leave it to you to wear granny clothes to a pool party," he chuckled, leaning back against the table, the red cup lifting to his lips as his eyes danced on my frame.
I bit my lower lip and his eyes, which were on mine drop to look at the action. I release my lip quickly, a flush forming on my face.
"Axel stop being an asshat," Ashton snaps, glaring at him as he reaches out and tips the cup up, causing some of the liquid to spill out.
Axel glares at him, pulling the cup away and revealing his now glistening lips. My mouth dries and I look away.
"It's fine Ashton, Axel is being his usual self. I've grown used to the douche behavior," I shrug, not looking at him even though I could feel his stare burn into the side of my face.
Ashton sighs, pulling away slowly. "Look after her for me, would you?" He directs the question to Axel. "I need to go look for Brandon," his green eyes drop to stare at me.
This was one of the few features one could spot the differences between the twins. Their eyes. Their height, hair and Axel....had a claw like scar right above where his heart beat.
"Stay here Winter. I'll be back as quickly as I can," he nods to Axel one last time as if sealing that he will be back and that Axel should look after me.
"But-
I started, not wanting to stay anywhere near Axel. Ashton sighs, his eyes pleading with me to not make it difficult for him. I pressed my lips tightly, my eyes dropping to the floor as I gave a small nod.
I didn't want to be a burden and right now it sure feels like I am.
As I watch Ashton disappear through the crowd I hear a chuckle. Axel. I stiffen. "Sneakers to a pool party," his chuckle is deep as he teases me. Another difference between the twins was that Axel's voice was way deeper.
I fist my hands at my sides. Axel may be a douche to me but I knew that he'd never actually hurt me, which was why Ashton trusted him with me.
"Shut up," I hiss under my breath, just as Masha, one of Axel's flings, walks over to him and curls herself into his side.
"There you are baby," she coos, her squeaky voice irritating to my ears. When Axel doesn't give her the attention she needs, her eyes follow where his attention was. On...me.
Her eyes burn, shifting into one of jealousy and bitterness. "Why is she here?" Masha snarls under her breath, stressing on the word she.
Axel lifted the cup to his lips, his eyes not leaving mine and I bit the inside of my cheek. "I'm on babysitting duty," he snorts, gulping down his drink in one go.
My eyes sting and my belly knots. I knew Axel didn't really care about me but he should have a little decency to at least not taunt me.
Masha's eyes narrowed. " Let me guess. She's following Ashton like the lost little lovesick puppy she is," she pushes off Axel whose jaw clenched by her words and squeezed the cup in his hand. He threw it on the ground.
"Poor little Winter just can't get it through her thick skull that Ashton will never see her in the way she wants," Masha snorts, eyes turning a dangerous color of hatred.
"Who would want you?" she swirls the liquid in her cup, stepping closer. "Stupid broke bitch with no one."
I flinched, her words causing a raw string of emotion that made my throat tighten uncomfortably. I cannot cry here. Not now, not in front of her and Axel.
My eyes shift from hers to look at Axel behind her who still had that stupid smirk playing on his face, his arms folded and a slight lift on his brow as if waiting to see what I'd do.
My hands fisted and I glared at him. "At least I'm not fucking someone who would never claim me. Giving yourself to him over and over won't make him claim you, Masha. So many better options, am I right Axel?"
Axel looks slightly surprised, his eyebrow lifting higher as he whistles. "Damn pipsqueak, who thought you had it in you?" his lips curve into a grin as he chuckles.
Masha's mouth drops slightly, her perfectly manicured fingers tightening around the cup as the liquid dangerously sloshes close to the edge.
As I lifted my chin, gloating inwardly that I had managed to stun her, Masha did something that turned the tables in her favor.
My eyes clench tightly as the liquid bathes across my upper body and face. It seeps through the material of my shirt, clinging to my skin like the shame I currently feel.
Gasp rippled through the air and laughter danced next. I freeze, my heart dropping in my belly. My soaked shirt was now clinging to me and I was more than a hundred percent sure that the outline of the too small bikini I was hiding was now visible.
"Oops, I must've slipped," Masha mocked and as I opened my eyes, I stared at her cruel smirk.
"Masha," Axel barked which was a bit shocking but Masha had never gone this far before. I blinked, my tears now revealing themselves as I looked at him one last time before turning around and sprinting away from them and the laughing party-goers.
"Pipsqueak!" Even with me already humiliated, he manages to still call me that stupid name.
I don't respond, just continue running away, trying my best to move around the bodies to make my way upstairs.
My vision is blurry, not from the alcohol, not from the stupid LED lights but from the tears that rolls off my cheeks.
I took two stairs at a time, my wet shirt sticking to me, the material wet and cold against my skin. I could still hear their laughter downstairs, echoing as if it was chasing me.
Finally I reached the second floor, ignoring the couples that were making out and yanked open the first door I found unlocked. It was dark and empty thankfully.
I slammed the door behind me, locking it quickly in case someone had followed me here. A choked breath leaves my lips and I turn around, sliding to the floor.
Stupid.
So stupid for thinking that for once I'd not be awkward and fit in.
So stupid for thinking for once.....Axel would finally be on my side and help me.
So stupid for believing that he cared.
Ahora, rara vez venimos a trabajar en la empresa. En un par de reuniones, sus socios se mostraron sorprendidos al saber que yo seguía siendo su secretaria después de todo. Pero es sencillo: yo no quiero ser una mujer florero y me gusta lo que hago; y Dominic dice que no quiere a otra persona a su lado porque soy la única que lo entiende, dentro y fuera del trabajo. Por eso somos el mejor equipo del mundo. —¡Olivia! ¿Un café después? —me ofrece Clara tras la recepción del edificio.Yo asiento a toda prisa colándome por los tornos antes de que la cosita pequeña que no me hace ni caso se meta de nuevo sola en un ascensor.—¡Sí! ¡Te veo en un rato! Yo a ti qué te he dicho de irte de la mano de mamá —le digo, aunque sé que es una batalla perdida.En cuanto las puertas del ascensor se abren en la última planta, Isabella se suelta de mi mano y corre a las grandes puertas de madera del despacho de su padre. Su pelo oscuro, heredado de Dominic, se agita en dos coletitas desordenadas, y sus oj
Dudé bastante sobre quién me llevaría al altar. Al principio pensé en mi tía, porque es mi única familia, y aunque la invité y está aquí, no lo sentí correcto. Tuve la idea de hacerlo sola, pero hace dos semanas me arrepentí y ahora me alegro de haberle pedido a Andrew que esté a mi lado. Cuando se lo pedí, debió ver a una chica de la edad que podrían tener sus hijas, asustada de que fuera demasiado tarde, estaba casi a punto de llorar cuando me puse a suplicarle que me acompañara. Él me dio una sonrisa tranquilizadora, como la de un padre, y aquí está ahora.La ceremonia es corta, íntima, perfecta. Cuando decimos nuestros votos, siento que cada palabra se graba en mi corazón. Prometo amarlo, apoyarlo, estar a su lado, y cuando él promete lo mismo, con esa voz grave que me hace estremecer, sé que esto es real. Que, a pesar de todo, esto es lo que más quiero.Cuando el oficiante nos declara marido y mujer, Dominic me besa con una intensidad que me roba el aliento, y los aplausos llenan
Creía haber estado enamorada antes, pero me doy cuenta de que jamás había sentido lo que era amar de verdad hasta que Dominic ha arrasado con todo de mi.Nuestra boda es perfecta. En un parador idílico de Italia: un castillo de piedra mediano con un gran jardín tan verde que contrasta de maravilla con las sillas blancas que se extienden delante del altar de ceremonias. Es el sitio de mis sueños. Quizás demasiado grande para los pocos que somos, pero Dominic insistió en que, aunque fuéramos solos los dos, este sería nuestro lugar.—¿Señora Russo? —Dan dos toques en la puerta y la entreabro un poco—. Hay un hombre en la recepción que dice ser el padre del señor Russo, pero no está en la lista de invitados.Joder.—Dame un segundo —le pido, antes de recoger mi bata de seda blanca del respaldo de la silla. Mientras la sigo por el inmenso castillo, las sandalias blancas se me resbalan de los pies por las prisas—. ¿Lo sabe Dominic?Por favor, no quiero una pelea el día de mi boda. ¿Cómo siq
Por la mañana, me despierto con el suave toque de una caricia en la mejilla. Es demasiado pronto, o mi cuerpo sigue cansado por el sexo desenfrenado de anoche. Aprieto los ojos con un quejido. Creo que Dominic se ríe antes de pasarme el dedo por la nariz.—Estás despierta.—Más o menos —murmuro.¿Por qué está tan lejos? Me acurruco más cerca suya, hasta que mi frente está apoyada en su pecho y puedo respirar su piel.—Tengo algo para ti —me susurra, mientras me peina los enredos del pelo con sus dedos—. Lo traje del viaje y no he tenido momento para dártelo.Levanto la vista, curiosa, justo cuando él se desliza fuera de la cama.
