Leah made her way to the clear located in the center of Ray’s pack territory and landed a few feet away from where the magnificently decorated tables were set up. There were a lot of people present already. People were dancing to the music that was playing over the loud speaker and she could see little pups running around, weaving in between and underneath the tables. She could hear their excitement as they noticed her and ran over to greet her. She quickly shifted to her human form with a smile and began greeting them back, giving hugs to the pups that asked for one. They were a friendly bunch, that was for sure. Leah had expected a small amount of reservation from the pack at first. She was, after all, a stranger to them and not a wolf. But, to her surprise, she was welcome with open arms by everyone. She received lots of complements on her dress and how pretty she was. She was really used to all the praise, so she just smiled and thank them with a blush on her face.Leah looked up
The first part of the ceremony was beautiful. The couple said their vows and the pack cheered as they kissed. They followed it up with lots of food and dancing. Leah danced with Ray for a while, before one of the teenagers requested a dance with her. Ray growled unhappily, but Leah just laughed softly. She kissed Ray on the cheek and whispered in his ear just soft enough for only him to hear. “Play nice, my love, and I promise to reward you later.”Ray’s gaze heated, and he kissed her deeply for a moment before reluctantly releasing her. “Fine. I’ll play nice.” He turned and glared at the boy who was standing next to them with a shy blush on his cheeks. With a sigh, Ray patted the pup on his shoulder and walked over to sit down next to Francesca who laid her head on his shoulder with a chuckle. He poked her gently on the arm with a mock glare on his face. “Oh, shut up!”Leah pulled the sweet pup to her and wrapped her arms around his neck with a soft smile. He was adorable. He was tal
Theo gritted his teeth before slamming his fist down on the large mahogany desk that separated himself from King Sullivan. This was not going the way he had planned. The king was currently sitting across from him glaring at him like he was the one who had done something wrong, when in fact it was that whore of a daughter of his!Theo growled loudly. “Did you hear what I just said?! I saw your daughter with my own eyes! She was making out with a damn wolf when she is supposed to be engaged to me!”King Marcus narrowed his eyes at Theo and leaned forward, steepling his fingers together on top of his desk. “I heard exactly what you just said, and I will deal with my daughter later. Right now I want to discuss what happened between you two in my home yesterday.”Theo gulped nervously, deciding to play dumb. Innocent until proven guilty. “I have no idea what you are talking about.”King Marcus roared loudly, slamming his own fist on the desks so hard it cracked, making Theo jump. “Don’t pl
Leah stepped into the house and let out a deep sigh as she headed to her father’s office. Now that she and Ray were officially mated, she needed to talk to her father. She knew he wasn’t going to be happy, but what choice did she have. She was madly in love with Ray, and she knew she would not have been happy with anyone else. Now that she and Ray were officially mated, her father would have no choice but to agree to an alternative way of solving their problem with Queen Dominique’s clan. She made her way to her father’s office, not bothering to head upstairs to her room to change. She wanted to get this conversation over with as soon as possible. She made it to his office where the door was slightly ajar. She paused when she hear two male voices. The first voice she knew was her father’s voice, calm yet firm. The second voice she recognized as that asshole, Theo. Theo sounded very angry, as noted by his raised voice. Leah kept quiet and listed in to their conversation.“Are you out o
Ray sighed wistfully. He was missing his mate already. Leah had said she needed to go home to speak with her father. Ray had offered to go with her, but she declined his offer. She said that this was something she needed to do on her own. She needed to tell her father about their mating. She said that she felt bad for going behind her father’s back, and that the least she could do was to meet with him face to face and explain what was going on. Ray understood where she was coming from, and so he didn’t argue further about her going by herself.Ray kissed her deeply and saw her off, watching her dragon form fly away until he could no longer see her. He turned and headed to where the construction team were working on the new pack houses. He walked over to where his nephew, Carter, stood holding some tools for Jagger and ruffled the pup’s hair. “Hey, kiddo.”Carter smiled adoringly up at his uncle. “Hey, Uncle Ray.” He looked around as if searching for someone, and Ray chuckled knowingl
The howl of an enraged wolf broke Ray out of his shocked state. He looked up to see Dallas in shifted form rushing towards one of the pack houses. Ray’s heart lurched when he noticed that the house was already on fire. But what really alarmed him was the sound of a small pup crying for her mother. The pup was still inside the burning building.Ray raced over to the house and rushed inside, making his way up the stairs to where he could hear the child crying her heart out. The heat from the fire was starting to get to him, but he needed to get to the little girl. Why was she still inside the house when everyone else was making their way to the main pack house? Where were her parents? The child’s cries grew louder the closer Ray got to the room he assumed she was in. The door was closed. Not wanting to risk burning himself by touching the door handle that he knew would be hot from the fire, he yelled for anyone in the room to step away from the bedroom door. After a few seconds, he lift
Leah was beyond pissed. Royally pissed, pun intended. She had left her childhood home in almost a depressed state. She had wanted nothing more than to go to Ray and have him hold her in his arms and make the pain of leaving her family go away. Little could she have imagined that she would arrive at the pack territory only to see that it was being destroyed by one of her kind, a dragon! The shock she first experience upon seeing the flames eating their way through all the pack houses and buildings gave way to pure unadulterated anger as she saw her mate being flung from the back of the large dragon and into the side of one of the buildings that just so happened to still be standing. Oh, hell no!With a loud roar full of all the emotions that she had been feeling for the past couple of hours, Leah charged at the black dragon. The black dragon looked up in surprise to see Leah’s large red dragon aiming straight for it. Inside the black dragon, Theo seethed with his own anger and jealous
Ray reaches over and takes Leah out of Dallas’s arms, pulling her close and rubbing his cheek against her head. Without saying a word, he turned and began walking towards the main pack house. His mate has loss a lot of blood, but Ray knew she was a strong dragon. Her heartbeat was strong and her breathing was even. She would need a lot of rest, but her wounds had already began to heal. Even faster than he thought it would. Ray figured it might have something to do wither royal blood mixed with is alpha blood from their mating, but nonetheless, he would still have Francesca do her thing. His sister was the pack healer, and one of the best healer in the county, if not the whole world. His mate would surely live today. He looked around as he walked. Most of the pack houses were gone, burned to the ground. The fires had mostly burned themselves out, and Jagger along with most of the adult males of the pack were putting out the rest of the flames that lingered. Ray would let them handle th
