FRIST DATE

Hakan had taken it upon himself to drive, thanking and subtly apologizing to the man that he had scared earlier once he had escorted Skye to the car. The alpha watched as Skye’s demeanor changed once more, this one being her closed and aloof side, as she stood by the car waiting for him to finish talking with the pack member.

Skye watched as three muscular men came out of the lush trees beyond the garage. Watching as they made their way over to where Hakan was standing, on the other side of the car. Her sky-blue eyes drilled holes behind Hakan’s head, flashing the three muscular men a smirk whenever their eyes would wander over to where she was.

“Then, I’ll be leaving Richard in charge while I go out to the city. Check the borders, I’ve been hearing talks about rogue wolves roaming around the forest from our hunters.” The man called Richard stepped up before bowing his head, as he received orders from his alpha. The three burly men left immediately when Hakan dismissed the group, turning around to face Skye with her arms crossed and looking bored.

“Why haven’t you gone inside? Were you waiting for me to open the door for you?” the alpha asked, a slight scoff evident in his tone. Skye raised an eyebrow at the man’s words before letting out a sigh and putting a hand on the car door handle, pulling it while maintaining eye contact with the man.

“If you haven’t noticed, you haven’t unlocked the car dimwit. Drop the attitude, I don’t need you ‘to open the door for me’. I have a good pair of hands and a brain. Trust me, if the door was open, I would be inside that car than stay here listening to you ordering people around.”

Skye couldn’t help lashing out at the man, a satisfied feeling bubbling all over her body when she noticed Hakan’s ears turn red in embarrassment. Without any words, Hakan just opened the car before going in, his door slamming with a loud bang behind him.

A giggle left Skye’s lips as she finally opened the door before going in, closing the door behind her. She didn’t dare look at the Alpha beside her, knowing full that she wouldn’t be able to stop her laughter if she did.

“Seatbelt.” Was the only word that left Hakan’s mouth as he started the car, whilst putting his own seatbelt. Skye did the same as the car left the garage before traveling out of the driveway, watching as the driveway looped by the front door, where five people stood waiting. Skye felt dread when she felt the car slowing down and stopping in front of them.

“Oh, how lovely the both of you look right now, don’t you agree Anne?” Hakan’s mother, Agatha, started, leaning over Hakan’s open window. Skye flushed in embarrassment as her eye met her sister, who was trying her best not to laugh at her pleading expressions, which could either be translated as ‘help me’ or ‘kill me’.

Agatha and Hakan talked for a bit before the alpha eventually said goodbye to his mother, promising to bring Skye back safely to her parents before roaring off of the driveway and into the stone road leading out of the forest.

“If you want to play some music, go ahead.”

Not wanting to pass the man’s generous offer, Skye took complete control of the car’s music, not even noticing the small smile that appeared on Hakan’s face when she started bobbing her head in time with the beat. Not really wanting to engage the man in any kind of conversation, Skye just turned the volume up before looking out of the window.

The drive to the city was something that was threading between peaceful silence in between song switches, and Skye’s unnoticed humming. As Hakan’s pack was deep in the woods and nearer to the countryside than the city, it took them more than half an hour to reach the city and by the time they reached the entrance of the town, the humming had stopped.

Hakan gave Skye a subtle glance, just making sure that the woman was not looking at him, only to take a double take when he saw her leaning to the side and fast asleep. Pulling to the side of the road, Hakan lowered the music’s volume before carefully reaching over and pulling the tab that lowers the backrest so she could sleep peacefully.

Once the alpha was sure that Skye was still sleeping and won’t hurt herself, he continued on driving not really having a clue where they would go, but seeing as it was too early to go to his favorite restaurant for dinner, he decided to just drive around town.

The car slowly slowed down as Hakan turned into a small park, stopping and keeping the air-conditioning on as he pulled down the sun visors to cover Skye’s face. He stayed seated inside the car, not really knowing what to do when his phone started vibrating from his pockets. Not wanting to wake Skye, he put on the handbrake before making his way out of the car, shutting the door behind him as gently as possible, before answering the call.

Skye rustled fifteen minutes later, sky-blue eyes blearing from her sleep as she tried to blink away the sleepiness. Once her mind dawned on where she was, Skye shot up from her seat, hitting her head on the roof in the process, a loud yelp of pain escaping her lips.

The passenger seat door opened and she came face to face with Hakan’s worried face, as she clutched the top of her head. “What happened? Are you all right?” another hiss escaped Skye’s lips when Hakan’s hand ran through the top of her head, probing before checking his hand.

“There’s no blood, thankfully. Stay here, I’ll buy some ice. Stay here, don’t go anywhere.” Hakan repeated and the door slammed shut once more before Skye could even say anything or even attempt to stop the alpha, as she watched him run away from the car, frantically searching for a store.

“Would you look at that? The cold and stoic alpha knows how to get worried.” She whispered to herself as a small smile etched itself on her face.
