Chapter 5: Tony’s POV - Rain

Anthony Rivers was Alpha Leo Rivers son. Most people called him Tony. Everyone knew who he was, especially since he was the alpha’s son. So, he wasn’t surprised as he arrived to The Academy as all these girls were throwing themselves at him. He was use to it. He was in line to be the next Alpha when his father resigned. They were rich, attractive, and had power.

As much as he loved women, he chose to isolate himself from all the females trying to fuck him. He had gotten into a huge fight with his father shortly after they arrived at Shadow Academy. His father wasn’t pleased that he fucked around with various women instead of searching for his potential future Luna. Tony was next in line to become Alpha, but he wasn’t found of making commitments in relationships. In fact, he wasn’t interested in being in a serious relationship with anyone. He found an isolated area under a tree in a shaded area, leaning against the tree. Honestly, he didn’t want to be bothered by anyone. Today was one of those days that he wanted to spend time alone. And then Monica McCain found him, joining him under the tree.

Fuck.

She was sexy, but he couldn’t stand how pushy and desperate she was. She wore a low cut shirt that showed off her amazing breasts with a short mini skirt. He had only fucked her once and that was enough to keep her coming around. Tony knew he was good in bed, but he wasn’t looking for a girlfriend. He knew Monica wanted to be Luna, but Tony had no real interest in her. She was just a quick fuck, and it hadn’t even been a memorable fuck. He heard all about her incident with the guardian boy, Eric Price. He knew she had fucked him right after she had been with Tony, and everyone knew Eric had a girlfriend. All the guy talked about was how his girlfriend was great in bed. It shocked Tony that the girlfriend had the balls to beat up Monica and put her in the hospital when she caught her fucking her boyfriend. Who was that girl? She beat up a Gamma’s daughter. He knew the punishment had been severe. She had to know who Monica’s father was, but she still put her in the hospital effortlessly.

Monica flaunted her breasts in front of Tony’s face as she spoke to him about them being at the academy together. He knew she was doing it to get him to fuck her again. He could smell her arousal all over her. It was tempting, but he didn’t want her even more attached. He mentally compared her to an animal with fleas. Monica was the fleas that no one could get rid of. As he stared at her breasts and contemplated sleeping with her, he suddenly felt a strong pull. Someone powerful was now arriving.

What the fuck was that? Whoever was arriving was someone he’s never met before. Their presence made him feel uneasy, something he rarely felt.

That was when he saw a car pull up and a gorgeous blonde stepped outside of the vehicle. She was definitely beautiful and he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. She had an incredible body, large breasts, and she was petite. He felt his dick begin to harden. She was his type and there was just something oddly familiar about her.

As Tony looked the new girl over thoroughly, he noticed Eric Price appear, watching the girl like a hawk. Was this the girl he told everyone was his? Was this the girl that put Monica in the hospital.

“I can’t believe they accepted that bitch. She’s not even a real pack member,” Monica complained. She obviously didn’t like this new girl.

“Who is she?” Tony asked curiously.

“ Her? That’s Rain Miller. You know, that orphan girl Guardian Emma took in. They just gave her the title since she was adopted by Emma. She doesn’t deserve to be here. We don’t even know where the fuck she’s from. She’s probably a rogue,” Monica told him. Tony found her jealousy of the girl unattractive. He knew it was out of fear because he could smell it on her. Tony knew then that this was the girlfriend that put Monica in the hospital.

“You sound threatened. A real Luna would fear nothing,” Tony said coldly to her and smiled.

“ I will be Luna whether you like it or not Anthony Rivers. We had a good time when we fucked didn’t we? Don’t you want to be able to suck and fuck me whenever you want?” She said in his ear. She was trying to seduce him and it wasn’t working. He smiled and moved close enough to her that he could kiss her.

“Is this what you want?” He played around with her.

“Yes,” she said in a whisper. Her arousal became stronger. She was wet and ready for him.

“Not going to happen. So, get the fuck out of my face,” he said and he felt her sudden rage. She pushed him away from her and he slammed into the tree. It didn’t hurt and he smiled because he knew he deserved it.

“We will see about that,”she said and walked off angrily. Tony knew he shouldn’t play around with Monica. The girl was reckless and could be dangerous. In that moment, he just wanted her to leave. So, he was pleased when she stormed off fuming at what he said to her.

In a distance, Tony used his wolf ears to overhear Kylie Reece talking with Jenna Lewis. Kylie was a pretty girl, but it was clear that she didn’t like how Tony treated women. She talked about how Tony only wanted quick fucks when Jenna showed interest in him. The girl wasn’t wrong, so he didn’t take offense to what she was saying about him.

He watched the new girl sitting alone, focused on her phone. She obviously was trying to distract herself from the whispers of the pack, many of them watching her. Who wouldn’t want to stare at her? She was beautiful. However, the whispers were from girls talking about Rain getting cheated on. Tony felt bad for the girl but he could tell it wasn’t bothering her as much as it should. He just watched her, freezing when she suddenly looked up and their eyes met. He knew he should look away but he couldn’t look away from those pretty emerald eyes. Tony knew there was something special about her. He was told stories about people instantly knowing when they were mated. He felt a pull towards her, but he didn’t act on it. He wasn’t interested is being someone’s mate. But, everything about her pulled him towards her.

That’s when Tony suddenly saw Eric Price approach her, which clearly angered her. She was upset and Tony could feel her pain. Fuck, they were definitely mates if he could feel her emotions. She stood slowly and began speaking with Eric. Her energy was off and Tony saw her struggling with her wolf. She wanted to shift and rip this guy to fucking pieces. As much as he didn’t like the guy, he knew he couldn’t let her lose control.

Tony watched as Eric grabbed her arm, the bone in her arm beginning to snap. Tony grabbed his own arm, feeling her injury. The girl acted as if she didn’t feel it, probably because she was fighting not to shift in public. Tony confirmed that he shared the mate bond with this girl. Shit. This wasn’t good. This isn’t what he wanted to happen to him and he didn’t know this girl. Their bond was strong and it hurt Tony to see her upset. He felt his breathing change, his breaths quickening. Before he realized what he was doing, he rushed over to them and grabbed Eric away from her. He wanted his hands off of his mate. He didn’t want him to touch her at all. He wanted him dead. Is this really how she felt about this guy? Just as he pulled Eric off of her, Tony felt her instant relief. She was now calm and more focused. She wasn’t fighting to shift anymore. Tony didn’t look at her and hyper-fixated on Eric. He was weak, not an alpha like Tony. He instantly backed down and walked away without saying a word.

Tony froze, realizing what he had done. He felt Rain’s curiosity. He looked at her and their eyes met. She was even more beautiful up close. He found himself staring down at her lips as she thanked him. He wanted to kiss her. He wanted to be inside her. And he could smell her arousal and her need for his body. He didn’t want this. Tony did the only thing he could think of, blowing her off like he did other females. It hurt him to be so cruel towards her and he felt her confusion and sadness by his unpleasant words. He just treated her as if she was nothing as he forced himself to walk away. He could tell she didn’t realize they had a mate bond between them. As long as she didn’t realize they were bonded, he was safe from her. Tony knew he was deep shit. Fated mates was something that couldn’t be broken unless by death. What was he going to do?

Leaning against the tree truck again, Tony was finally alone. Monica had moved on, which was a relief. It still hurt him that he had been so cruel to Rain. She was probably a decent girl, but Tony didn’t like being tied down to anyone. He did his best to avoid looking at her, even though all he wanted was to be with her.

Tony saw his father appear to greet the new students, and he pretended to pay attention to his speech. All he could think about was Rain, which quickened his breathing. He felt her stare and that’s when he made eye contact with her again. She was with Kylie and her arm was now fully healed. Tony knew the mate bond healed wolves faster than they would normally heal. As Tony stared at her, he couldn’t believe that asshole Eric had fractured her arm. He knew in that moment that he’d never let anyone harm Rain again. Not only would her injuries harm Tony, he just knew it was his destiny to ensure she was safe. He’d give his life for her just because they were bonded.
