LOGINRain Miller was always treated as an outcast in the Shadow pack. She was adopted by one of the most honored Wolf Guardians, Emma Miller. The Shadow Pack was considered a strong breed of werewolves, the most feared and ferocious pack in the southeast. The Shadow pack was known to be the only pack in history to ever have an Ultima wolf, the most powerful and ruthless wolf to ever exist. Rain never knew her true ranking as a she-wolf among the 3 existing classes: The Subordinates, The Guardians, and the Elites. Raised by a Guardian, she was ranked as a warrior, trained to fight and defend her pack at all costs. When a rogue attack threatens her pack’s survival, Rain will face the biggest challenge of all. She is the last of her family that has access to her pack’s secrets. She has two choices. Protect her pack or follow her birthright. She took a vow to fight for a pack that disowns her, but Rain will only endure what she can handle. She will have to decide if she is willing to betray her people and the man she loves, or she will risk the extinction of the Shadow Pack.

Rain was standing in front of her full body length mirror in her bedroom, realizing that today was going to her first day at The Academy to become a guardian. She was given a black and red uniform with combat boots after she was accepted into the Guardianship program at the Shadow Academy. When she put on her uniform, she felt proud and determined to become one of the Shadow Pack’s best warriors. She knew it would require structure and dedication, both qualities that Rain developed as a child. One thing she was proud of about herself was that she always was quick to learn new tasks. She stared at herself in her mirror and knew that this was the day her life would change. She wasn’t sure if things would change for the best, but she had high hopes that her life would finally improve. Rain’s long blonde hair was pulled back into a ponytail. It was uncommon for her to wear makeup, her clear and flawless skin rarely needing it. She was petite with curves in all the right places, and she wasn’t short nor too tall. She’d always been called beautiful throughout her life, but she never viewed herself that way. Rain saw herself as below average and she lacked confidence when it came to building meaningful relationships with the people around her. Most members of her pack made her feel inadequate because she was an orphan. She was tormented her entire life for being adopted m, and other wolves in her pack often told her that would never become a honorable guardian. Yes, she was strong and always at the top of her class in school, but no one accepted her because everyone believed she wasn’t born as a Shadow pack wolf. No one knew where she came from, only that she was left at the Miller residence shortly after her birth. Emma Miller, timber if the most honorable guardians in the Shadow pack, treated her nothing less than a daughter, but everyone else in town treated Rain poorly. She was often called names such as an outcast, a mutt, or even a rogue. As much as Rain tried to ignore the insults, she always felt as if no one would truly care for her or understand her completely. Rain had been waiting her entire life to begin her guardianship training. She was now 18, so it was her pack’s customs to begin training based on her family’s wolf class. There were 3 types of classes of Shadow Pack wolves, The Subordinates, The Guardians, and the Elites. The Subordinates were rank-less wolves, often living ordinary human lives with ordinary jobs. They provided most of the resources for the pack, but they were too weak to fight and not high enough ranked to become an Elite wolf. Then there were The Guardians, the pack’s sworn warriors. They protected the pack, held pack secrets, and were the most skilled warriors of the pack. The Guardians were the most loyal and trustworthy wolves in the Shadow pack. Lastly, there were the Elite wolves. They upheld pack law and their words were always required to be obeyed. The 3 ranks of the Elite wolves were the Alpha, the Beta, and the Gamma wolves. They were the strongest wolves of the Shadow Pack, and no wolf would dare disobey an Elite wolf in fear of their lives. Their children were not ranked, but anyone born to an Elite wolf would always be considered Elite. Rain always thought that the most attractive wolves were in this class of wolves. They all were so beautiful, elegant, and they were always wealthy. They had elegance in the way they dressed and everything seemed to always to be given to them. They also only socialize with other Elite members, so Rain always caught herself daydreaming about how these type of wolves lived their lives. To be given everything was a true luxury. “Rain! Do you not hear me talking to you?!” Emma screamed up the stairs. Rain shook the thought from her head and let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. “Yes! I’m coming mom! Just finishing my hair!” Rain lied. She sighed, not understanding why she just lied to her mother. As a very powerful wolf, she knew her mother could smell her lie. Truth was, Rain was terrified of starting her new life. She didn’t want to disappoint her mother. Why was she so afraid? Honestly, she was tired of always being rejected in their pack. She also knew that Shadow Academy would hold the strongest competition. Rain loved a good challenge, but she wasn’t sure if she’d make the cut. If she was going to get through this training, she couldn’t be afraid and she definitely couldn’t show her peers her fears. Rain took a deep breath, grabbed her backpack and headed out her bedroom. She hurried down the stairs, her mother looking aggravated at her tardiness. Emma Miller’s face softened and she looked at Rain in concern. She always seemed to know how Rain was feeling. “You deserve this just as much as anyone else Rain. Remember that. Understood?” Emma said with a serious look on her face. “Yeah, I understand. I’m ready,” Rain told her confidently and Emma smiled. As Emma drove Rain to Shadow Academy, Rain just anticipated her first day. This was it. There was no going back now.Rain, Eric, and Tony spent the next few days developing a plan to overtake Alpha Leo’s territory. Tony watched his mate as she practiced using her new abilities. He had never seen her work so diligently and with determination. He shielded his feelings from her. He didn’t want her to know how it hurt him to see her with his own brother. It was bad enough that his father fucking lied to him his entire life by keeping Eric’s true identity a secret. Tony just couldn’t understand how his father could treat Eric so poorly when he gave everything to Tony without hesitation. His father used and abandoned his eldest son, the son who rightfully should have become the next Alpha. “You all right?” A voice startled Tony out of his deep thoughts. He had been stuck in his head to the point that he hadn’t heard his brother approach him. Tony frowned at his lack of caution. He needed to be more focused, but he had been finding it harder these days to focus on anything but Rain. “Yeah, I’m good,” Ton
Rain fixed her clothing after making love with Tony, both of them returning to their campsite. She felt different, maybe even angry. She felt her aura overpowering everyone, Tony staring at her in confusion. “We need to go home and settle this with your father,” she spoke in a low, emotionless voice, Tony slowly nodding in agreement. “What’s the plan?” He asked her and she looked at him slowly. Rain could see her mate watching her closely, and she knew he could feel her anger. What she didn’t understand was why she was feeling this way all of a sudden. “There is no plan when it comes to war. Either the pack is on our side or they die.” She said and Tony stood up and began to pale, looking down at her in astonishment. “Then that makes you no better than my father. Rain, what’s gotten into you?” He asked and she stood, staring into his gray eyes. “Maybe I just don’t care anymore,” she explained. “This isn’t you, Rain. You will regret killing innocent people. There has to be a
Eric staggered as he spoke to Beta James, feeling a sudden pain in his stomach. He felt Rain becoming intimate with Tony, causing his wolf misery and a sudden feeling of grief. He felt how pleased her wolf was to be with his brother, an emotion he wanted to share with Rain. Just moments ago her wolf was trying to accept Eric as being her mate, but Rain was fighting her feelings towards him. Eric couldn’t blame her for hating and mistrusting him. He hurt her in so many ways over the past few years that he acknowledged that he didn’t deserved her. “You need to learn how to block them if you are going to be mated to my daughter,” Beta James spoke and Eric looked up at him in surprise. Eric wondered if he knew that Rain was fucking Tony at that very moment. He wondered if he could hear them. After all, Beta James was an alpha wolf that took on the role as the pack’s Beta by choice. Powerful Alpha wolves could hear miles away, a gift that Eric never possessed as an Alpha male.. “I don’
Rain woke up to the sound of the river flowing and the sounds of birds and crickets in a distance. Tony was fast asleep beside her, looking peaceful and content. Rain was happy, but she was dreading the war that was about to happen between the Shadow pack and the rogues. She didn’t know what group she was apart of, but she desired to take over the Shadow pack and enforce a better way of life. She didn’t agree how Alpha Leo cast out wolves for being powerless or non-compliant with his rules. As she exited her tent, she took a walk deep into the woods. She suddenly felt a powerful presence and she froze in front of an old oak tree that was slowly decaying. She noticed initials carved into the tree. It read: J & J, which made her smile. She imagined two lovers carving their initials together, something she always thought was a cute gesture. There was a sensitive side to Rain that she never let anyone see. It was a side to her that she’d only ever showed to Tony because she always knew
