Kayla

I slid into the Uber Jason had ordered me, holding Olivia's house warming gift in my hand. It was just a cheap lamp I got off Etsy and personally bedazzled.

The ride to her newly purchased penthouse was faster than I expected. I got out of the car leaving the driver with a very generous five dollar tip.

I shot my boyfriend a text: [I'm here.]

He responded immediately: [Come right up!]

Jason insisted on coming earlier with my car to help Olivia set up. I'm really grateful that my boyfriend and best friend get along so well.

I saw Olivia's Porsche and Pink G-wagon parked out front. I really wonder why she had a house warming party for each property her father purchased for her. This was the third one this year.

"Hey baby," Jason said, kissing my forehand. He stared at me for a minute, taking in the sundress that hugged my curves in all the right ways. "You look breathtaking."

I couldn't help the giant smile that formed on my face. Jason and I had been dating for three years now. My parents loved him so much, but my sister, not so much. It didn't change the fact that he was a prince and always treated me right.

"Where's Liv?" I finally asked when I snap out of my trance.

"She's over there, greeting her guests," he placed his hand on my waist, pulling me closer. "I'll take your gift upstairs."

While Jason disappeared into the crowd, I made my way to Liv. Her eyes lit up immediately they landed on me. "Kayla, darling," she held my shoulders lightly, placing air kisses on both my cheeks before pushing me to arm's length and drinking me in.

"Darling, that dress," she paused, kissing her teeth. My heart almost did a summersault. She smiled, "Are you trying to get everyone's attention?"

"God, Liv. You scared me."

She laughed, loud, "Don't mind me darling, you look delectable."

I felt a hand snake around me and I turned back to meet Jason's lips. He placed a kiss on my lips before pulling me closer to his hot body where I met his erection. A smile spread across my face.

I just love how he was so attracted to me. Jason kissed me again and Olivia practically groaned. "Get a room!" she said rolling her eyes. I and Jason laughed in response.

"Umm, darling, I hate to separate you two love birds, but, can I borrow Jase for a moment?" Liv pouted.

"Yeah, no problem," I say, nudging Jason playfully.

Olivia claps her hands together. "Perfect. Jason, I need your muscles. I have a literal crate of champagne that needs to go from the service lift to the kitchen, and these caterers are moving like snails." She turned to me, "Darling, be an angel and mind the door for a second? Just grab the gifts from people as they come in. I’ll be right back with your man."

"Sure, I don't mind," I replied. I really didn't. Olivia was a good friend and was always there when I needed her. We went to the same Uni. She never really made the fact that she had more money than me a problem.

Jason gave my waist one last squeeze. "Won't be long, baby."

I watched them disappear into the crowd then made my way toward the entrance, putting on my best "hostess" smile.

For a few minutes, it was actually kind of fun. I was handed beautifully wrapped boxes and heavy bags from boutiques I'd never heard of.

The door swung open and a flash of shimmery pink caught the light.

Chelsea.

My sister strut in, looking like she stepped off a runway in a dress I knew she couldn't afford. Her eyes raked over me with judgment.

"Kayla? Why on earth are you playing doorman?" she asked, not trying to hide her disappointment. "Where is Olivia? This is her party, isn't it?"

I shifted the weight of a heavy gift bag in my arms. "She’s busy, Chelsea. I’m just helping out."

Chelsea scoffed, crossing her arms. "Of course you are. Still the little goody two-shoes."

I rolled my eyes at my little sister. "You know, you're actually kind of a bitch. It's just a favor for a friend." I look at her empty hands. "And where’s your gift? I thought you liked Olivia."

"I didn't bring one," she says simply, checking her nails. "My presence is the gift. Besides, she has enough stuff." She glances around the foyer, her eyes narrowing. "Where’s Jason? I haven't seen his boring face yet."

She really hated the guy. Chelsea was a very kind person, and she usually liked everyone.

"He's upstairs," I say, a small frown tugging at my lips. I glance at my watch. "Helping Olivia with some heavy lifting. Actually... it’s true, he and Olivia have been gone for a minute now."

Chelsea raises a perfectly manicured eyebrow. "A minute? How long have they been gone, Kayla?"

"Well, champagne crates are heavy. I'm going to go find them."

"Good luck with that, Kay," Chelsea calls out as she swerves past me toward the bar.

I headed upstairs, checking the kitchen and the dining area, but the penthouse was massive and the music wass starting to get louder, thumping through the floorboards. As I passed a hallway leading to the terrace, a sudden draft hit me.

My sundress, while "breathtaking" according to Jason, is paper-thin. The air conditioning in here was set to 'arctic,' and the evening breeze coming through the open balcony door made my skin break out in goosebumps.

I rubbed my arms, feeling a sudden chill that has nothing to do with the temperature. I need my denim jacket. I left it in the backseat of my car—the one Jason drove here.

I turned away from the party noise and headed toward the back exit. I just need to grab my jacket, clear my head, and then I’ll find them.

I stepped out into the cool night air toward the driveway, my heart starts that slow, heavy thud again. My car is bouncing?

The movement continues as I step closer. Did Jason let someone use my car for a make out session?

Disgusting.

I charged towards my car in full speed but stop when I'm only an inch away from the door. The voices in the car are familiar.

The moans grew louder, "Oh, yes. Right there!"

"Fuck Liv, you're so wet!" A masculine voice replied.

Jason?

My whole body grew heavy. I pulled the car door open to find Olivia in a cowgirl position bouncing on my naked boyfriend, in my car.

"What in fucks name is going on here?" I ask before with shock lacing my voice.

KaylaThe mattress sank as Damien moved in close, his palm finding my leg beneath the covers. "I think you just need some proper motivation."I peeked out from under one eyelid. "You're already in your suit.""Suits can be taken off." His hand wandered higher, his fingers teasing the hem of my shorts.I swatted him away. "Nice try, but you're dressed and ready. I'm not going to be the reason you look like a wrinkled mess for your first meeting."He hovered over me, his voice dropping to a low, rough whisper against my ear. "The suit doesn't matter, Kayla.""It does to me. You look way too sharp to ruin it now.""Get out of bed in thirty seconds," he warned, "or I'm going to make sure you're too busy to leave this room for a long, long time."I gave him a playful smirk. "Is that a threat or a promise?"He didn't say a word. He just crashed his lips against mine in a deep, hungry kiss. My body went into overdrive instantly. The heat pooled between my thighs as his tongue pushed into my

Kayla “Nothing important. Just tired,” I replied, twirling pasta around my fork. “This smells amazing.” I took a bite, and the rich, savory flavor made me moan. “Perfect.”Damien leaned against the counter, watching me with a heavy, dark intensity. His eyes tracked every move of my lips, making me feel a flush that had nothing to do with the food.“What?” I asked, dabbing my mouth.“Just admiring my wife,” he said. His voice was a low rumble that vibrated right through me.“While she inhales pasta like a cavewoman?”“Precisely that.”I finished eating while he watched me like I was the main course. When I was done, he cleared the plate, his large hands moving with surprising grace.“So,” I said, stifling a yawn, “back to work tomorrow?”Damien nodded. “Unfortunately. I’ve got fifteen meetings postponed because of the honeymoon.” He grimaced. “The Jameson account needs me, and the board meeting is Friday.”“Wow, sounds like a full calendar,” I said, watching him. “Almost like you regr

KaylaI rolled my eyes, leaning back against the plush VIP booth. "Maybe he just realized what he missed out on," I joked, though my heart was still thumping from the encounter. "His loss.""Oh, please," Chelsea snorted, swirling the ice in her glass. "That man wasn't shocked you’re married, Kay. He was shocked you married Damien Blackwood. There’s a massive difference.""What does that even mean?""It means," she leaned in, her voice dropping to a whisper, "that Charles Wentworth didn't just 'bump' into you. Men like that are sharks. He probably knew your blood type before he even said hello. You’re the woman who landed the biggest, most dangerous fish in the ocean. He’s not looking at you as a girl in a bar; he’s looking at you as a trophy he didn't get to win."I stared into my wine, the liquid shimmering under the dim lights. "You think he only talked to me because of Damien?""I think you're gorgeous, but in this town? The Blackwood name is a gold mine. Having the ear of Damien’

The man immediately bent down and started picking up the things that had fallen, including my lip gloss and cards, tucking them back into my bag. I was so flustered that I think my brain just shut down for a moment. I stood there frozen, staring at his broad back and watching his muscles flex under his shirt as he gathered everything. When he finally rose, he handed me my purse. His eyes lingered on my face for way too long. He just stared at me and said nothing, and I felt like I couldn't breathe. He looked like a Greek god carved out of granite. He had a sharp, chiseled jawline and piercing eyes that seemed to see right through me. His dark hair was perfectly styled, and even in the dim light of the club, he looked impossibly handsome."Kayla, are you okay?" Monet asked, her voice breaking me out of my reverie. I finally realized where I was and blinked rapidly."Yeah, yeah," I said, my face heating up. Monet looked between me and the man I was currently in a staring competition w

"What the fuck?" I sputtered, laughing so hard my stomach actually hurt. "You know what, Jenna? I think you should get back into the market. There's plenty of fish."Jenna scoffed, waving a hand in the air like she was swatting away a fly. "Fuck no. I just got out, bitch. I am retired from that circus."Everyone erupted into laughter. Jenna’s facial expressions were always priceless—she looked like she’d rather swallow broken glass than date again. We leaned back as the server brought the tequila. Monet was already complaining about a client, some pop star who demanded five outfit changes for a grocery store run. "I'm literally losing my mind," she said, downing her shot. "But the paycheck is worth the headache."Cherry sighed, looking at her phone. "At least you're working. I'm currently dating a guy who thinks his protein shake is a personality trait. I asked him about his day, and he told me about his new pre-workout blend for twenty minutes.""At least he's dedicated," Chelsea ch

  • Loathe by the Billionaire    Chapter 87

KaylaThe drive to the penthouse was filled with a companionable silence, the kind that only exists when you've just shared something intense. I didn't want to talk; I just wanted to process everything. Once we were inside, I headed straight for the bathroom and took a long, hot shower. The girls could wait. After the flight I just had, and the way Damien had practically fucked my brains out in that private jet, I needed a serious refresher.I dressed in a chic, two-piece silk set that hugged my curves and slicked my hair back into a tight, high ponytail, secured with my favorite hair tie. I felt refreshed, but my body still thrummed with a low-level ache from earlier.I went to find Damien to let him know I was heading out, but I stopped when I saw him in his home office. He was hunched over his desk, focused on a stack of documents. I started to back away slowly not wanting to disturb him, when his voice cut through the air."Kayla?"I paused. "Hmm?""What's up? Come in!" He didn't

Kayla Damien’s thumb hooked over my swollen clit, rubbing in heavy, relentless circles. I felt the air leave my lungs; I almost fainted from the sheer sensory overload. My body was a live wire, and every touch sent a jolt of white-hot electricity straight to my core.I tried to squirm away, my hip

KaylaAfter about a hundred hours, we finally landed. A jeep was waiting for us on a small, dusty strip of land. It drove us deep into the heart of the island. When the trees cleared, my jaw dropped. It looked like a page out of a vacation magazine. The island was a dream. The water was a bright, g

KaylaDamien finally joined the circle on the dance floor. He was moving and laughing with my friends. We all held up bottles of vodka. We drank together, but we kept it classy. It was the most demure way to party.By now, Damien’s tie was gone. His top button was open. He looked relaxed. He steppe

  • Loathe by the Billionaire    Chapter 66

KaylaThe car whisked us away to the Blackwood estate in a long convoy. As we drove, I looked out the window. The whole city was celebrating. Huge jumbo-trons on the buildings showed our photos. There were ads everywhere with our faces on them. Chelsea, Monet, and my mum, Rose, sat with me. In the
