MasukEmory--
It’s interesting, being “behind the curtain” of leadership. I’ve always seen Logan calm, self-assured, even cocky. I know he’s stressed lately, though, because I literally know exactly what he’s thinking. I know we’ll both be glad to have my family going home tomorrow. It was nice to see them– at first, anyway– but we’re going to need
Emory-- It’s interesting, being “behind the curtain” of leadership. I’ve always seen Logan calm, self-assured, even cocky. I know he’s stressed lately, though, because I literally know exactly what he’s thinking. I know we’ll both be glad to have my family going home tomorrow. It was nice to see them– at first, anyway– but we’re going to need some time and distance so they can start to grasp shifter culture. They have some processing to do before they’ll be able to interact positively with Logan and the rest of the pack. It won’t hurt to let all the drama die down in the pack, either. I’m sure once my naked ass stops showing up in the freaking news, my family will be more comfortable. Logan and I get ready for
Landon--I take deep breaths as I try to calm the fuck down. Not only are my plans to simplify things with Cora surprisingly complicated, but humans in general have been a thorn in my side this whole week. I still respect Emory as my Luna, of course, and I might just have the hots for Terri’s take-no-shit attitude for the rest of my days, but the rest of her family has been annoying at best, with Bryan fighting hard for a Darwin award. I guess it’s a good thing the Davises have two of each– boys and girls. I had high hopes when they took the shifter secret almost in stride– maybe they were more open-minded because of the article– but when they were confronted with new traditions and social values, the real problems started. Usually
Emory--It’s starting to feel like we should never leave the pack house again. Logan and I have been followed every time we’ve left the gates for weeks, now. I also think it might be impossible to keep the shifter secret. There’s a ticking clock in the back of my head, counting down the seconds until we as a society record too much of our lives for anything to ever fly under the radar. If everyone can accept the existence of aliens, maybe shifters will be okay, too? Logan shakes his head sharply at that thought. There’s too much generational trauma from the torch and pitchfork days– no shifter would agree with my assessment. Maybe we can just let this blow over like Logan is hoping. Maybe, since conspiracy theorists have always been raving about something or other, people will see this as just another crackpot
Logan--I fucked up. I was in the middle of finding out if the alphabet trick works on Emory when I got a call from Ollie. Ordinarily, I’d ignore it at least until Emory came, but as soon as it stopped ringing he called back, then he somehow hacked my phone and made the screen flash red and white. I’m going to have to get him to teach me how to do that with my brother, because he keeps disappearing on me lately. He says he’s preparing for his much– anticipated vacation, but I’m not sure what he could be doing that takes that much work to set up. Emory and I both groan as I sit up and reach for my
James--Logan:Well, men. Just had someone crash my… wedding ceremony with a camera. Who knows someone I can get a marriage cert from at this time of night?Derek:I have somebody on my legal team. We have an artist dealing with something like this at least once a year. Do you want Emory to have your last name?Logan:DuhMe:You’re missing the important questions. Is the photographer taken care of? How so? Will you need backup?Logan:&nbs
James--I swallow down my shame as I keep an eye on the sub I’m planning to claim for the night. Ever since I got one single damned sniff of Logan’s assistant before lunch with his new mate, my tastes have trended more toward small blondes than ever before. Previously, I would choose a leggy model type. I never had an opinion on hair color besides a distaste for the obviously unnatural. I’ve always liked my subs with hair long enough to wrap around my hand, but Anna’s short hair matches her no-nonsense personality so perfectly that I can’t imagine her any other way.Since I’ve seen her, I’ve been… intrigued by the possibilities of a sub much smaller than I am. Physical domination has always been a given– any shifter is going to be orders of magnitude stronger than a human woman, no matter what– but to have
