Ch. 30

If we are going by name I am not really sure what Shade could do.

'Shade?' I called.

'I'll tell you once I trust this man more. You have to be cautious.'

'Fine, be that way.' I rolled my eyes.

"She won't tell me. She doesn't trust you enough." I sighed slightly annoyed. I wanted to know this information myself.

"Your shadow is smart. It's good to be cautious considering how weak you are." He smirked at me.

"Hey! I'm not that weak." He arched an eyebrow at me in disbelief. "Whatever."

My attention was immediately taken by the shining of a knife in Alester's shadow. He stabbed Zion straight in the heart. I could feel the color draining from my face. Alester then started a timer, scribbling notes.

"Don't worry. Once the infantry finds out the shit he's done to you they'll kill him easily." Al sounded so confident.

I wonder if it would be that easy for them. I'm sure Alester has experimented on himself. Any successful experiments he's done, he uses to enhance himself.
