MasukIcelyn's POV
“What?” I subconsciously mutter. The mysterious man smirks and then gets on his feet. He straightens his suit by the lapels and then gazes down at my Dad, who looks mortified by what he had uttered. Ellen screamed suddenly after she ran into the living room. The sight of my bloodied father and the blood on my dress and body must have frightened her to death. Hastily, one of the men grabbed her and pinned her to the ground. My heart constricted. Rage filled me. “Spare the girl only. She's coming with me,” he ordered then turned around to leave immediately. A man grabbed my arms and pulled me up. “Get off! Don't you dare!” I gritted out then shoved the man away from me. He was strong but obviously did not want to hurt me, so he let go. I spat him a deathly look then crouched down by my father. I held his trembling shoulders. “You will not lay even a finger on my father and governess,” I threatened as I glared at the back of the mysterious man. He slowly turned around and smirked at me amusingly. I hated that look. Hated that face. Hated this man. “And if I kill them right in front of you?” He questioned with a raised eyebrow. My heart fluttered suddenly and I almost gasped out. What was that? Why did my heart flutter when he raised his eyebrow? “I'd like to see what you would do, Silverhead,” he smoothly said. My head boiled at that name he called me because of my very light silver-blonde hair. Who did he think he was to start giving me nicknames when he was here to murder my family? “I could kill you,” I heard myself say to my greatest shock. I who couldn't even kill a noisy bug? The mysterious man's eyes lit up with amusement and he stared down at me as if I was a monkey wearing a dress. “Kill? That means you're going to be very interesting. Knock her out,” he ordered coldly and his eyes turned dark with an emotion I couldn't explain. I sprang up abruptly and kicked at the man who had come to probably knock me out. I smacked my palms against his face and pushed him. Two more men rushed towards me, but my Dad scrambled to their paths, causing them to tumble into him and fall. I saw our huge white vase that was now shattered on the floor and grabbed a broken piece on first instinct. I instantly held it to my throat. The men who were approaching me halted. The entire room stilled. “Icelyn,” my Dad muttered from the floor. I felt my tears falling but didn't know why. All I knew was this mysterious man wanted me alive. The only way I could save my Dad and Ellen was if I blackmailed him with my life. “Touch my family and watch me tear my throat open with the sharp edge of this broken ceramic piece!” I yelled and pinned the edge to my neck. Any slight forceful movement could get me bleeding badly in moments. “Icelyn, no!” Ellen shriveled even from the floor. My Dad looked dejected as his eyes held my throat. The mysterious man stood rooted to the floor, gazing at my eyes. The men took a few steps toward me, and I shifted backward. “Don't,” I warned them, and the movement caused the broken ceramic to slice my skin. I felt warm liquid pool at that spot, then flow down my neck. Ellen screamed and began to cry as the blood stained my dress. I hardly ever got injured. So this first one brought out fresh, thick red blood. The eyes of the mysterious man began to glow again. This time with a different kind of emotion embedded in them. Was it rage or concern? His jaw clenched and unclenched as he stared at the blood. I could see his fist forming into a tight ball. “Icelyn, stop,” he commanded. It was more like pleading with an order. I could feel there was another emotion attached. Fear. This mysterious man was afraid I'd actually do it. “If you're going to murder my family, you might as well see me go down first,” I threatened and was going to slice the ceramic hard against my throat but in that instant, the mysterious man moved speedily through the air in a blur of gold light. Before I knew it, the broken piece had been kicked out of my hand by an unknown force and I was pulled against something hard. I gasped with fright and shock. Strong arms encircled me and held me firmly in place. I could hear the fast and loud beat of a racing heart right in my ear. The mysterious man was hugging me. I didn't know why. But I began to sob. I grabbed hold of the lapels of his suit and cried silently, not having any strength in me. He locked my head against his chest with his palm at the back. “Please,” he whispered with a broken voice only I could hear. “Please, Zee. Don't leave me again,” he begged. I stopped crying immediately. Who was Zee? I lifted my eyes to look at him and our eyes met. His was no longer glowing. But as I stared into them, I began to feel trapped in a vacuum. As if my whole existence was being pulled away from me. As if I was falling into an abyss. “Raven,” I heard my lips pronounce before I went unconscious in his arms. *** I stirred and tossed in what seemed like a very soft bed. Something was aching around my neck. My arms were dull and my muscles sore. I turned to the other side of the bed and gently opened my eyes to behold a vast, sunny, white room. My eyes couldn't even fully open because of how bright the room was. I tried to sit up, but my strength failed and I could only lean against the bed frame. Where was I? Where was this? Why all this sun? I was not used to sunlight. There was never any sun in my room, yet this room was filled with it. Was this... Was this heaven? Was I dead? Oh my God! I jumped off the bed abruptly with a strength I did not know I had. My straight blonde hair fell over my entire body. I ran to the open window and looked out, expecting to see streets of gold. But what I saw was greenery. Trees, flowers, plants, and cars. Surely there were no cars in heaven. The door to the room I was in opened and a lady wearing a maid's uniform walked in. She gasped when she saw me standing there. “You are awake,” she stated. I gulped and winced immediately. My throat hurt like hell. I lifted my hand to it and felt a bandage there. I saw that there was a mirror opposite me and looked at my reflection. Truly, my neck was bandaged. I was wearing a short, pure white dress and my hair was all over the place. I was a mess. “Where am I?” I managed to ask. “Chesterfield Pack,” she answered. I furrowed my brows. Chester—what? “Please come and freshen up. Then we would prepare you to go have breakfast with the Alpha.” “Where is my family?” I asked as the memories of my 18th birthday flooded me all of a sudden. My body began to shake as she stared at me. My Dad... Ellen. What happened to them? “I don't know anything about your family. I was only assigned to take care of you.” I stood motionless. No. This couldn't be. I couldn't lose my family this way. I couldn't lose Ellen this way. “Who do you say I'm having breakfast with?” “The Alpha.” I recalled that my Dad had called that mysterious man Alpha the other night. I nodded. I would confront him and demand for my family. And if he had killed them, then I would stab him with a table knife and stab myself next. However, when the maid helped me get ready and I walked down the stairs to the dining table, I knew I was in huge trouble. There, at the head of the table sat the most beautiful man I had ever laid my eyes on. He was shirtless, with beautiful tanned skin and muscles so strong I knew I'd be done for if he was ever to pin me down. His hair was pure black, damp, and in ruffles over his head. His face? God, his face was sculptured well. I could stare at it all day. He was perfection in a man. Slowly, he sensed my presence and looked up at me from his food. He stared at me gently starting from my feet. Eating up my appearance as his eyes trailed my entire figure up to my face. When our eyes met, I could see gold tingles in his eyes, the way his jaws clenched, and his Adam's apple bobbing up and down. I felt crazy butterflies in my stomach under his mesmerizing gaze. Suddenly, I was aware that he was a very desirable gentleman. The dream of ladies. And I was a lady with such a dream. Finally, the man sat straight and then leaned on his seat. He smirked sideways,s at me. “Good morning, my Luna,” he said.Icelyn's POVI pushed open my door and stormed inside. It banged loudly behind me and I heard a shriek from beside my bed. “Fangs and claws, Luna!” Rosa exclaimed with a pillow in her hands. I glared at her as if she was the root of my problems. “Oh I do want to grow fangs and claws right now! Ughhhhh!” I kicked the bed then sat down on it. It almost bounced me off and to the floor. I was too angry to care if it did. “What is happening, Luna?!” Rosa cried out. She hurriedly sat beside me and held my hands. The pillow she was with was now on the floor. I looked at her face and let it calm me down. “He wants...” rage swallowed me again and I bit down on my lip.“Calm down. Breathe. Tell me. Is it the Alpha?”I nodded. “He wants... He wants to take me somewhere. He wants to take me somewhere else again. Somewhere you won't even be. Somewhere remote. Somewhere he could kill me silently like he killed my family,” I broke down in tears. I began to sob uncontrollably and Rosa pulled me
Alpha Chester’s POVIcelyn’s big eyes widened then narrowed at me. I could seeshe had an objection to what I said but couldn’t voice it out. She insteadbegan to chew on her lips. “Any comments?” I asked. She exhaled and looked away. Igrabbed her arm gently but she smacked it off with so much force even my wolfwas shocked. “Don’t touch me!” she gritted out. “Believe me, I haven’t even touched you get,” I bit out. Sheglared up at me. “And what’s that supposed to mean?” I crossed my arms and stared straight into her eyeballs. Mystare was hard and direct, and most people cowered under that gaze but Icelynlooked me square and didn’t cower. “You’re sick. You’re not ready for that conversation.”“ And who are you to declare when I am ready or not inanything? Who are you to declare what I am, what I should be and what I shoulddo? Who are you?!” she expelled in frustration and annoyance at me. “If you have something to say to me, say it,” I ordered, myjaw clenched. “I am not
Icelyn’s POV My throat felt extremely heavy by the time I woke up. It was like I drank lava and it had cooled down along my throat. I opened my eyes and looked around the ceiling. An unfamiliar one this time. How many times have I woken up like this since I arrived this place? I was losing count already. Maybe the final place would be the morgue. But my eyes wouldn’t open then. “Oh, Luna,” a distressed Rosa cried out. I couldn’t look sideways at her so I waited until she drew closer and held my hand. “Oh, Luna. You almost died. It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have left you to begin eating on your own,” she cried as she held me. I wanted to tell her to stop crying because I didn’t actually die. But I couldn’t. Not with the pain and heaviness of this throat. “You barely made it. If Vince hadn’t been around… oh God. What would I have done?” I blinked. “Wh-whe-whe-” I tried to speak. Rosa sat up and sniffed. “It’s a hospital. We couldn’t wait for the physicians to come fir
Alpha Chester’s POVMy day did not go as planned. I was supposed to round up my work at noon and be back home beside Icelyn as soon as possible. But I got an invitation from the Assembly of Commissions to attend a meeting by 3pm. Not often did the Assembly send for me so I knew it was a meeting that could not wait. Only the Assembly of Commissions could summon an Alpha and when they did the Alpha was expected to answer.I was however afraid that the meeting might take long into the day so I tried to move it upwards to 1pm. But news came that there was an emergency with a section of our men presently in the human world. There had been figured out to be non-human and the infiltrator had taken off into a children’s park. He had to be eliminated or his memory wiped out. But the first option wasn’t feasible in public, talk more of a children’s park. I had to step in and wipe out his memory. I left for the human world few minutes to 1pm and met with my forces already at the park.“We are s
Icelyn's POV I woke up to subtle movements from the side of my bed. It was obvious whatever was causing the noise did not want to wake me up. Typical Elle behavior. “Elle, I’m awake. Stop with the mouse behavior already,” I grunted and turned. A small pain in my shoulder froze me. “Oww,” I yelped. “You have to be careful, Icelyn. You’re injured."The masculine voice brought me back to reality. Elle wasn’t here and this was not my room at home. In fact, it wasn’t even my room here. I jerked up, slightly pushing against the Alpha who was bending over towards me. “Calm down. I just want to check your temperature.” “I don’t need you to check anything. Stay off!” He stood few feet away, his hands sliding into his pockets. He was fully dressed in his office wear, his hair a little still damp. “What am I doing here?” I asked. He exhaled and walked to his desk. He slid on his wristwatch and turned to face me again. “Good morning, Luna. How do you feel?” I glared at him. “This is y
Vince and I were about to drink some champagne after silently gobbling down some meat when we both heard her scream. It came as a shock at first, with my best man and I just staring at each other the first few seconds. Then we unleashed.I went out in a blur of gold light, crashing into whatever dared stay in my way. I could feel Vince behind me, his speed almost on par with mine. I could feel his anger pushing against me and it made me glad I had someone with me in this fight. Vince was as shocked as I was when I told him about Icelyn. He was there from the beginning of it all. He knew how impossible it was supposed to be able to find her. He knew I couldn't lose her... again."There... Shit!" he cussed and took off ahead of me. A big black wolf was attacking another wolf. A smaller wolf that was obviously not as skilled as he was. Vince shifted and attacked the big wolf, pulling it off the injured small wolf and sinking his fangs into its neck. I felt my mate a little way off and tu
