Chapter 113

I'm still holding onto Beau and whatever it is, is still also holding to Beau trying to drag him further into the forbidden part of the forest "shit, I can't even grab hold of it, it's so damn strong" "why don't you try shifting" "I can't, I don't know why but I can't shift" “shit”

I spot a tree with a low hanging branch coming up as we get dragged along, still not seeing what it is that’s dragging us, well Beau along. “Grab onto that branch right there, I’d let go of you and try to break you free from whatever then you can try to shift” he takes hold of the branch and I release him and quickly grab one of my knives and slash the thing that was on his foot, we hear a loud screech from deeper in but ignore it.

“Why aren’t you shifting Beau, we gotta get out of here!” “agghh I can’t Red, my leg, I think it’s broken” I hadn’t realized that the tentacle was still wrapped around his leg, I help him stand “come on, we gotta try tog et out of here before that thing comes back, I’ll get that thing off once we get to safety”

He limps as I help him along, trying to get out of the forbidden forest, we are close to the barrier, I can feel it but the thing latches onto my arm “ahhhh” I drop Beau and quickly cut the bastard loose from me which warrants another howl of scream back into the woods.

I quicky grab Beau again and rush through the barrier, we manage to trip and tumble down the slope and guess what, we trigger one of the traps and fall into a ditch “fk!” “calm down” “how the fk can we calm down Red? We’re basically trapped, sitting prey, I can’t shift to get us out, your arm is in no way, shape or form capable of climbing out of here, we’re sitting ducks!”

I understand fully his frustration but this is not the time to be losing our cool, I grab his face “hey, look at me, remember our training, okay, I know our situation is not the best right now but our best bet right now is hiding in plain sight, focus on your breathing and heart beat, stay in the corner where it will be difficult to see us if the thing comes looking for us”

He does what I tell him and I do the same, scooting over to the other corner nearby him and focusing on my breathing.

Erratic breathing pulls me from my slumber, I get up clutching my chest trying to catch me breath, what’s happening? Where is this rush of adrenaline coming from “ahh what the hell?!” my arm feels like it’s on fire “NO!” ‘it’s mate’ “NO!” I rush out of my room and down to the training centre but it’s empty.

‘Harry!’ ‘my King!’ ‘where are you and where are the trainees?’ ‘Red team managed to pass our hiders test so they were let off early’ ‘where is she?’ ‘who?’ ‘RED!’ ‘they went running up the trails sir, the entire team, aren’t they back yet?’

I run towards the entrance of the trail and pause when I see Four of her team mates running along with two guards towards the trail too “what’s going on?” “it’s Roro! She and Beau got pulled into the forbidden zone by something, we don’t know what it was”

I don’t bother listening for anymore words or explanations, I run full speed in my human form up the trail, I helped put this trail together so I know very well where all the traps are and where the trail is, I can feel it, her heart beat is slowing “no! No! No! No! No! I feel like I’m going insane, I have to find her, she’s dying!” at this point in time I could not care less who hears me, I need to save my mate.

We all get to the border and stop, I extend my vision but I don’t see anything, no sign of them. I close my eyes and inhale deeply and I catch her scent, it’s faint but I have it, they got out, well at least she did, I sniff, following the scent “my King?” “quiet I’m trying to concentrate” “apologies, it’s just that you’re heading away from the forbidden zone” “would you please be quiet!” Hunter growls out.

We get back to focusing on her scent I follow it down a slope and the scent get’s stronger “she’s close” I feel her pull and I go to her, “here!” we surround the ditch and I jump down without hesitation, she’s so pale I pick her up gingerly and her head bobs back “I don’t think she’s conscious” “here pass her up to me my King, I’ll take her” I didn’t mean to but Hunter growls up at him.

I manage to pick the guy up under my arm and jump up out of the ditch with them both and pass him to them, I cradle her and begin running back down the trail.
