Baby?! She called me! The great Alpha King a baby! People cower and run at the mere mention of me Alpha King Tyler and this little she wolf just called me a baby. How I wish I could bite her, just take her and sink my teeth into her or cover that smart mouth of her with my own, nibble on those pink succulent lips of hers.

“Okay well everything is okay with you Beau, your blood test has also come back, there’s no more toxin in it and there’s no damage to your organs and clearly your leg is fine, you are free to go but do come by the hospital tomorrow afternoon, we should have the results of whatever it is that came from your leg, I’m sure you’d like to know what it is”

What? Go? With my mate, “actually I’d like to do a check on Miss Roho and ask her a few questions as well, so you may have to leave without her, Ms. Roho shall we head back to your room, give Beau some privacy to get changed”

She pushes me to sit on the chair that’s in the room and before she has the chance to move away I grab her around the waist and she stills, standing between my legs and I feel myself begin to calm down.

“Uhm you said you have questions doctor, go ahead” “uhh sure okay, did you get a chance to look at the creature that attacked you” “it was a Devourant” “a Devourant? Here in the Royal City, that, that’s impossible!” “well, that’s what it is or was, I mean there has to be a reason why that part of the forest is forbidden, to either keep it hidden or protected or may be both but that’s what it was, who made the area forbidden anyways?”

“My Great Great Grand Mother did” she looks down at me “why?” these beautiful eyes, I could get lost in them “I don’t know” she looks away “guess I’ll have to ask Zach” “you call the previous Alpha King by his name?” “yes, is that not normal? He said it was okay though” I give the doctor a stare down so he knows not to say anything further.

He clears his throat after the glare from me “I do suppose that would make some sense if t truly was a Devourant, but then again the poison from it’s tentacles are so fast moving, you would’ve been dead before anyone got the chance to get to you”

I zone out for a bit but I can hear them talking back and forth to each other but it isn’t until I feel it, her hands moving through my hair, playing with my hair and massaging my scalp, I close my eyes too afraid to move because I’m sure she’s doing it unconsciously like something she’s used to doing, but to whom? Once again I zone out from whatever they’re talking about and enjoying the feeling of her hands in my hair “I will admit to you doc, I am terrified of those but go ahead” terrified of what? Go ahead and do what? I look up at her, he eyes are screwed shut and her arm extended, her grip on my hair tightens a bit but not in a painful way.

He’s taking a blood sample “you’re all done” her eyes open and they’re filled with unshed tears and even though I know it’s a minor thing my heart breaks for her, “are you finished now Jacoby?” “yes my King” “then everyone clear out”.

Once they’ve all gone, I pull her down onto my lap and she straddles me “it’s okay, you’re okay” I say to her soothingly. I take the hand that he took the blood from and she tries pulling away “it’s okay, I won’t hurt you” her watery eyes search mine “you promise?’’ she asks softly “promise”
