Chapter 5

Eventually I had the door replaced with one of those hurricane doors and put a lock with a dead bolt so it wouldn't be so easy to break and enter, they do these things because my father is unaware and I chose not to say anything because I doubted he'd really believe me over them and the most amusing thing is none of them have ever asked me about the door or locks because obviously they'd give themselves away.

I fix myself a quick sandwich naturally from items I purchased, I have a pantry that locks which I keep all my goods as well as pots, pans, dishes etc, I use nothing provided by Nika and the pantry was provided by my father when I was Ten years old, he'd buy my groceries and put them in there and gave me the master key and he kept the spare so he could stock it, when I started working I told him he no longer needed to do that but every now and then I would meet groceries I didn't purchase in there which I was grateful for nonetheless.

My sandwich is Sliced Turkey with a Cheese Paste I made really quick, Lettuce and Pickles, I love Pickles and Ranch Sauce, I pour myself some juice from my fridge which also locks and gobble my meal down, clean up and head out.

I get to the tree line and take a deep breath while closing my eyes "alright Roro, let's go" when my eyes open the entire forest is seen as clear as day and I take off heading to my post, I passed a few deer’s and some mountain lions who appear to be on the hunt, good luck to the deer’s.

I get to my post and greet my fellow warriors " hey Haro, what's up Evo " " hey Red, how's it hanging? " " can't complain, any activity tonight? " " no, all’s good, apart from the usual critters and animals there are no threats out tonight " we make a bit of small talk and they were about to head back when we all stop and turn after hearing the sound of twigs snapping and bushes rustling and we're now on full alert.

We all slowly make our way up the trees to our hide out spots and observe and soon Four figures moves through the trees and emerge, the guys sniff the air and mindlink ' humans, but what in the Goddess name are they doing so deep into the woods ' " oh look guys! this looks like a good place to set up camp! " one person says and another responds " are you insane, we need to keep moving, it's not safe in the forest, there's Mountain Lions and who knows what else is out there waiting to tear us apart " smart boy " aww man, but we're tired Beau " " I'm tired too but it's not safe, can't you feel it, we're being watched by something " they all stop walking and look around trying to sense what or in this case who was watching them.

I focus in on this guy Beau as they call him and I see an aura around him, I link the guys ' I think that one, the big guy Beau he's one of us but why is he on the move with humans? ' ' are you sure Red? ' ' look at him, focus in on him and the air around him ' they mindlink goes silent for a few ' I see it, his aura, it's fluctuating which means he's either trying to suppress it or ' ' he's losing control of it, which means he's probably not aware of what he is and is close to his shifting age which means his Eighteenth birthday may be approaching soon and that can be very dangerous for the other Three companions ' I make a quick decision and pull my needles from my case strapped into my belt and one by one shoot at the others leaving only him standing.

They call grasp their necks which are points of impact and fall, only knocked out not dead, we do our best not to come in contact with humans let alone harm them.

Beau as they call him is on full alert and looking around trying to find the danger, we all jump from our hiding spots, the guys hang back and I approach him " WHO THE F**K ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY FRIENDS?! " " I have a better question for you Beau, what are you doing with your friends? " " WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN?! THEY'RE MY FRIENDS! THE ONLY THREE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD THAT UNDERSTOOD AND ACCEPTED ME AS THE FREAK THAT I AM WHY DID YOU KILL THEM?! " calm down, I only put them to sleep, they're not dead " he calmed right down " they're okay? " " yes, just asleep "
