“May I ask what is your name?”

“Everyone calls me Red for obvious reasons” she says gesturing to her hair, it’s like flames, flames I would gladly burn in.

I twirl her on the floor and she giggles as she turns back into my arms which makes me chuckle “oh my, so sorry we bumped into you” I turn to see who the idiot is that hit us, I caught her and held onto her so she doesn’t fall, oh it’s the King “ it’s okay your majesty, no harm done, right Red?” she smiles “yep, we’re fine”.

I look back the King to see him glaring at me then looking at the lady in my arms and he’s staring even harder at my arm that’s around her waist, what’s up with him “Noah?” I turn again “ahh Astrid!” I reluctantly release Red and walk over to her “congratulations on your mating” I give her a quick hug.

“W-What are you doing here?” she asks looking around as though she’s afraid “I’m not here to make trouble if that’s what you’re worried about, I was invited as others were, I thought I’d surprise you but as it turns I was surprised instead, you could have at least texted me back to tell me, I’d of understood and there is no hard feelings, are you happy?”

She beams “yes I am, very happy and thank you” I smile “you’re welcome, now if you excuse me I need to get back to my-” I turn to look for her but she’s gone and so is the King as well as Simon “where did she go?” “who” “Red, the lady I was just dancing with” a look crosses Astrids face “she’s mated Noah so I suggest you keep your distance before you get on the wrong side of her mate”

I open my mouth to ask who her mate is when I feel a tap on my shoulder “sire there’s something urgent I need to discuss with you” “I’ll be right there Simon, please excuse me Astrid” I walk over to where Simon is and we find a secluded spot “what’s the matter Simon?” “I can sense her” “who?” “Melina, I can sense Melina, she’s somewhere here, her aura is strongest over there” I follow after him and he points to a building, it’s guarded though so we won’t be able to approach to investigate.

As though sensing our stares the guard there turns and looks right in our direction and we duck back and hide ourselves in the shadows and ease away from the area back to the party “what are we going to do sir?” “what can we do right now Simon, it’s just you and I and a whole pack of Lycans plus other invited wolves, it’d be suicide to try anything here right now”

I look around once more and still can’t seem to find Red, I decide it’s time to leave especially since the King is back and he can see that I’m looking around and has a smug look on his face, he knows where she is “let’s head out Simon” we get into our jeep and head for our hotel.

Once we get there I head to my room and Simon goes to his to rest for the evening, I can’t stop thinking about her, I don’t care if she’s mated or not or perhaps Astrid just said that so I’d leave her alone but no matter, I will see her again, I need to figure out what’s this effect her scent has on me, even now I can still smell her, oh! I reach for the flower in my pocket and smell it, inhaling deeply then rummage through my things to find a bag to preserve it in.

“My problem?! You will watch your mouth with me Red, I will not tolerate insolence”

“Insolence, if anyone is being insolent it’s you, why did you drag me back to your room?”

“How could you”

I put my hands on my hips, I am so pissed right now “How could I what?” “how could you dance with that man and let him touch and hold you like that?!”

“The hell? How is that your concern? It was a party and we were just having fun like everyone else including you so back off!”

I turn to storm away “I am not done speaking to you Red” “pity! I am done listening!” “you will come back here right now!” *slam*

I slam the door and make a run for it, my room is out of the question, it’d be the first place he’d look for me, I have no clue what his issue is ugh! I run out the front door and into the woods, I’ve come to learn them quite intimately these last Four month.

“Ahh what the-” I’m pushed against a tree and his lips slam onto mine, I try to push him away but he holds my hands above my head and kiss me and my traitorous body gives in kissing him back, he grinds himself onto me and I bite back my moan.
