Chapter 142

Tacamorga is summoned to my war room, he is my Head Hunter, and I am very proud of him, his fetes are unlike any other in my ranks, he's huge, even more so than I am at least 6 ft 8" and built like a tank, his skin is littered with scars and tattoos and he wears a Red eye patch over his right eye, he says it helps him focus and shoot better at his target, he is a man of very few words, I saved him from descending and he has been faithful to me ever since.

It is obvious if he was on his way down to the depths it means he did not live a good life while he was living and judging from his skills, he was either a bounty hunter, assasssin or just a murderer for sport either which way it works out perfectly fine for me.

"Taca, I need you to take Six of your hunters and bring me as much as you can, take non lethals with you because what we need is more soilders not carnage, be cautious and don't get caught, the packs will be on high alert now so be very careful"

"Understood my Lord, but if I may ask, would it not be easier to take people from the neutral zone? they will be unguarded and no one would notice if a few people start going missing or at least they won't realize until after some time"

"Hmm, that actually could work Taca, but you guys would have to make yourselves blend in and do the kidnaps without drawing attention to yourselves, ahh! you can set up in the building next to mine, but the challenge would be what do we set up there that would only attract shifters, humans are of little to no use to us"

"How about a club of sorts, we can call night Night Howlers, I'm sure they would know what that suggests would they not?" 

"Haha! oh Taca! I love the way your mind works! that's perfect! let's do that! we'd take our time and set things up and do the takings slowly as to not raise any flags and while we're doing that, the packs and Royal City will have let their guards down while we rebuild and prepare for our taking over, alright take your guys and get to work"

"Yes my lord" he bows and then leaves the war room, I too make my way out and go to the medical wing to check on the wounded ones "how is everyone faring?"

"My Lord, you've come, they're all doing pretty well except for Cass, we've given all we could to help with her healing but she is not responding to it, Simon is with her"

I walk over to the private area they have Cass set up, Simon is sitting by her bed and holding her hand, I can see that she is descending "my Lord, why did you listen to this foolish Jablesse?"

"She wanted to save you Simon and I gave her the chance to, do you think I enjoyed causing pain to any of you? you all forced my hand so it is natural I reveal what's inside it no?" Simon sighs "I wasn't thinking clearly, I just wanted to get Melina back and Cass would stop feeling as miserable as she was and you would be less upset about losing her"

"Tunnel vision will not bring back what we have lost" I look down at her "do you wish to save her?" "of course my Lord, I'd do anything to have her back!" "I will give you a chance, do with it as you please but let me warn you, the Minx is full of tricks so not be fooled!"

I open a door to the under world "go on, you'd see the line to where she is, follow it and you'd find her, make no bargains with no one and touch no one besides the one you seek"

He bows  as he stands before the door way "thank you my Lord for your neverending mercies, even though we do not deserve it and have failed you so"

He disappears into the door and I sit and wait, because if I leave the door way will close and they will both be trapped, I keep my eyes peeled to ensure nothing slithers it's way out from the great beyond, it would be deathremental for me if an undead slips past and gets back out, the undertaker below will come looking for it and I too shall be punished for allowing something not meant for this world to escape and be back out here once again.

And even I am not above the laws and order or the circle of life, although I have tweaked it here and there but nothing major. "When are they coming back? it's already been Thirty minutes and keeping the door way open is draining my power" , I wait a few minutes more and was about to go in and look for them myselves when Simon tumbles through the door way and Cass shoots up from her bed gasping for air.
