We take off running, holding onto the life line rope and we push ourselves to make it back to the gateway, I risk looking back when I can hear footsteps approaching from some distance behind us. We tumble through the gateway and Tabitha hurriedly chants and closes it.

I lay flat on the floor trying to catch my breath " what happened? " " we were discovered " Tabitha says through deep breaths trying to calm herself and steady her breathing.

The others helped us up and we sat at the table, " how were you discovered? were you not careful " " of course we were careful, I have no idea how that man found us out but it was thanks to Sala's quick observation that we realized he was onto us and we ran " " I think he scented me " all eyes turn to me " scented you? " " yes, when I leaned over the cliff and the wind blew my cloak off my head, I think he caught my scent then " they exchange glances between each other but no one says anything further on the matter.

" The main thing is, you both made it out safely, did you find the information that you seek? "

" Indeed I did, so I suppose it's time for me to return to my pack "

We all leave the underground and head back to the cabin "are you sure you want to make this journey so late Sala, especially on your own like this "

I walked out onto the front porch and was about to answer Tabi when I sensed others close by and look around, I place my hand to my lips to shush her and the others.
