Lucy's POV

As I waited in my room, I had just walked out of the bathroom when Carol came in, closing the door behind her. She approached me and I loathed the look on her face. Had she messed things up?

“I did it. He's dead.” She informed me, blinking guiltily. Immediately I exhaled in relief, “Good job, Carol. Good job.” I said, tapping her on the shoulder.

I moved towards the mirror, a smile on my face. The deal was done, one threat down, a few more to go maybe. I thought it would be complicated to kill him. But I guess he wasn't as fierce as his threats sounded.

“What's next?” Carol asked curiously, still shaking a bit. I looked at her, “There's no next for now, Carol. I will compensate you for this, but right after this chaos has been quashed to the ground. Okay?” I smiled at her and she forced a smile back at me.

She still stood there, unsure about something. But I didn't care to know what it was.

“Go on, leave,” I told her. She bowed and walked out shakily. Something about her te

Lucy's POV“If you hate him so much, why don't you kill him?" Jason asked. He'd be glad if I killed Phil. Because, to him, I was gradually falling in love with my ex-mate all over again. That wasn't the plan, all I wanted was revenge against the black diamond pack.“I wish I could," I muttered the words in hope, because honestly, I wished I could end it all right now and make Phil suffer alongside.Jason sighed over the phone, “You forgot all about me, fell in love, and now suddenly you call me for advice on how to treat a man's fucked-up-ness.” he said, and I heard him snort.I sat on my bed, a hint of a smile on my face. "Quit being dramatic, Jason. I never even called for advice."“But Phil happened to be the first thing you talked about with me after so many months of isolation." Is that jealousy I sense? It couldn't be. Jason and I only had this fling thing going between us, and that's where it ends."You know I couldn't do anything about the ‘no communication’ rule that was set

Andrew's POVA beast—that alone could define me whenever I managed to shape shift into what I'd call a Lycawolf. An angry, brutal, blood-craving monster that I become within seconds. And only a few people have ever gotten to see me like this, in my uncontrollable killing spree—and now, the woman I was madly in love with has been added to that list.As a Lycanborn, I had sought help to cure me of this drenching curse that I carried for years and ripped my inner self-confidence into shards. Even though I held it all together in the open, I was a shadow of my cursed self within. And it was much more terrible that I couldn't look Vera in the eye without sensing the fear in her all over again. She looked like her soul had been extracted from her body as she sat on one of the couches—shaking, with a blanket over her shoulders. Cathryn walked over to her with a cup of coffee in her hand. She tapped Vera on the shoulder and that made Vera flinch.“I'm sorry. Here's coffee, it will calm your

Andrew’s POVEvery muscle in my leg tensed as I raced down the stairs or rather half flying from one stair to the next. I almost collided with Rick halfway down the stairs. He held his hand up, something clutched in his grip. “Hey, check this out…” before he could show me whatever he got in his hands, he noticed the look on my face."What's wrong?” his voice shifted into urgency."The Mnemos is here," I said, my gaze darting around the living room as if to spot the silver hair.“What? How sure are you?" Rick questioned.“She came to Vera. Put this place on lockdown, immediately.” I ordered and strode towards the kitchen. I came across Cathryn in the kitchen, she was a bit surprised to see me in the kitchen, since I hardly came by to supervise or whatsoever, then her expression turned to worry as she studied my facial expression. She dropped the spatula in her hand. The rest of the maids in the kitchen don't look anything like the lady Vera has described. They looked rather astonished.

Vera's POVAs the warmth of the water cascaded through my hair, my mind flooded with visions of him. The water rippled down to my toes and the muscles in my shoulders tensed with every move I made in pushing my wet hair behind. My heart sort of flushed as I remembered the sudden feeling of affection that I felt towards him at the sparring gym. I shook my head, slapping my wet cheeks gently. “Snap out of it, Vera," I muttered to myself as I turned off the shower and grabbed the towel from the shower hook.Just as I stepped outside, the figure of a lady beside my bed scared me to death. “Who are you?" I managed to ask, her back turned to me. I tightened the towel around my heaving chest. The lady casually turned around to look at me with a brief smile which was polite and she scared the shit out of me. Her salt and pepper hair doesn't do justice to her young facial features.“Cathryn sent me here to drop this for you." She shifted, gesturing to a red velvet box on my bed. I stared at

Andrew's POV“What about this?” Vera held up a sword, barely holding on to its weight. "This looks like something I can handle."“Too big for your size," I replied, my hands stuck inside my pants’ pocket as I leaned against a pillar in the pack's sparring gym where I've trained since I was able to handle a knife. She sighed, clearly exhausted and frustrated by how many weapons I had declined her from using for sparring. I suggested she begin training with me and the rest of the gamma if she really wanted to learn how to defend herself. And just like I had thought—she was interested in the whole thing.I had found out something a week ago as Vera and I began to get along a bit—which took a lot of trying so hard from my end and a lot of distancing from Vera’s end.She had no wolf yet, which was sad. It also made me question why she was made a Luna, then I guessed Phil made all that possible. He was so in love with her that he breached the werewolf constitution for her sake. But a though

Phil's POVThe Alphas wine and dine club wasn't so bad after all. It's been my place of solace for the past few weeks. I came here with Keith to get away from the pack—maybe from Lucy too. She badly wanted to convince me to make her the next Luna.I shook my head, swirling the glass gently before I took a sip. The thought was detrimental and Keith, who sat beside me, supported Lucy's idea.Keith dropped his glass down on the hardwood counter. “Look, I only agree with her for specific reasons. Reasons that have to do with you, man. Your pack and other things I'd mention if you weren't aware of it too.”I turned to him, “Give me a break, Keith. There's just a lot I can't put together right now, and trust me, the issue about having another Luna is the least of my problems.” I turned my head towards the collection of wine in the cupboard. My mind was a pool of confusion. Keith threw his hands in surrender, “Fine." He said, dropping his hands back down on the wooden table. “I just think ha
