48. Unknown places

As early dawn breaks, I tip toe around my room, trying to stay as silent as possible while gathering my thongs together and getting ready. From next door, I can hear Ben snoring loudly, and Tonya still seems to be in a deep slumber, too.

All night, I kept tossing and turning, my mind replaying all the events from my birthday, down to the things said last night, and of course the appearance of the hummingbird. Even if Jax wanted me to stay put, I just can’t do it. I need to take the risk to know whatever those answers are, that are waiting for me to be unravelled.

Slipping into my trainers, I’m very well aware I probably look like a burglar right now, wearing trainers, black pants, and a black hoodie pulled far into my face. It might draw even more attention to myself, especially as it’s still nearly dark outside.
