2. Confusion

THREE DAYS LATER

"Wh...why aren't you... eating?" Faith asked in a meek tone while eyeing the knocked over food on the dirty ground of the cell from the small looking glass. For the past three days, she has come to deliver food to this prisoner every day, but he has never eaten a bite,

"I.. it's been three days... Yo...you will die...if you do... don't eat anything..." She said slowly and in a fearful tone, not wanting to anger the beast.

A beast is a beast, injured or not. Even though she was scared of him, she knew he couldn't do much. He could hardly move a muscle as his whole body was filled with deadly wolfsbane. He couldn't heal himself because of that. Also, Jackson comes at every night to torture him to put him back to his previous state. So, in this state, he would really die if he didn't eat.

"Isn't that what you want? For me to die?" The man spoke up to her for the first time in three days and she felt as if an unexplainable shiver ran through her spine.

That voice...

"No..." Unknown to her, those words left her mouth without her consent.

"No? You don't want me dead?" The man asked in surprise. No sooner had he completed his question, he started coughing out some more blood as always. The wolfsbane has been messing up with him badly.

"No... I don't want you dead..." Faith whispered in a low tone which she knew he heard very well.

"Why? Do...do you know everything?" He asked in a desperate tone and there was little hope in his tone as well which confused her. But she didn't give much thought to it as she looked down at her feet.

"I just know that if I can't keep you alive, I and someone very precious to me will die. I know nothing more than that." Faith said as she remembered Jackson's parents, Lina and John's word about killing her daughter if she fails to do her job. They are keeping eyes on her daughter, so she can't mess this up.

"So, me eating food and staying alive is important to you?" The man asked while coughing some more.

"Yes." Faith replied in desperation.

"I will eat the food, if you answer two of my questions and do one thing for me." The man spoke up while walking toward the small looking glass slowly. Only her icy blue eyes were visible to him.

The moment she realised he was coming toward her with wobbly legs, she immediately ducked down to hide from his eyes. He stood near the closed door of the cell. He could hear her racing heartbeat and his ragged breathing.

"Why are you hiding from me? You know that I can't do anything to you in this state, right?" He asked in a hoarse voice.

"I am not allowed to show you my face…" Faith quietly replied. "I am not even allowed to talk to you much. Please tell me what I have to do to make you eat so that I can leave." She begged in misery, making him sigh.

"Answer me correctly, Faith." The man spoke up while taking slow yet deep breaths in between but his last word hitched her breath.

"How do you know my name?" She asked in a terrified tone, ready to run out as soon as possible if necessary.

"I know things more than you can imagine, my love. So, you better answer my questions truthfully. Do you understand?" He asked and she could hear the same maniacal as Jackson in his tone as well which was enough to control her in fear.

"Y…yes…" She stammered as he heard her heartbeat getting crazier every passing second. He wanted to calm her down but it was necessary to get what he wanted so he quickly got back into business.

"My first question, why are you so scared of them?" The man asked in a tone which left her with no options of lying.

"I…I am the omega of this pack…an easy target for them to use me as their punching bag…" She couldn't say more than that and he didn't need to hear more as well. But she jumped when she heard an animalistic growl coming from the cell.

"My second question. Do you know why they sent you specifically to give me food?" He asked and she was confused after hearing that. She slowly got up from the sitting position but didn't turn back to face him. Her long black wavy hair was facing him at that moment.

"No… I don't know that…" She replied in confusion but before she could voice out her confusion, he spoke up.

"Because you heal me. Your presence doesn't let me die." He said in a soft tone which shocked her so much that before she could think what was happening, she had already turned around to meet his forest green eyes. Her eyes widened the moment her eyes met his.

"I couldn't ask for my third condition because you have already shown me your face." The man said with a smirk on his bloody yet handsome face, making her look at him with fear.

"Wh…what is that, you are holding in your hand?" She asked in a fearful tone as she doesn't remember seeing anything inside the cell whenever she went to give him food when he was sleeping.

"The antidote of wolfsbane, my love. Your alpha is a stupid if he thought he could catch me so easily." He said with a smirk as he opened the small bottle of antidote slowly and drank it while looking deep into her panicked eyes.

"Wh…why…?" She couldn't ask more as she felt sick in her stomach because she knew what drinking that antidote meant. She couldn't even move from her place in fear.

"Because I wanted something here and I got it. Now, don't run your little brain so much and look me in the eyes." He said with a smirk as he looked deep into her eyes and she couldn't remove her eyes even though she wanted to as she saw all his injuries vanishing into thin air.

"Sleep, my love. Go to sleep." No sooner had those words left his mouth, she fell on the ground as her world turned black.

"I promise I will be back soon to have you in my arms again, my love."
