Twenty

Episode 20.

"Alpha Maxwell," Xenia muttered, in a shaky voice.

The condition she saw him in made her scared.

"Open your eyes, please. I will call the doctor, nothing will happen to you, okay." Xenia sniffed, as tears were already coming out of her eyes, feeling guilty for placing him in such a condition.

She hastily stood up and was about to leave the room when Alpha Maxwell weakly held her hand.

He struggled and opened his eyes slightly.

"P… don't… please…" Alpha Maxwell kept mumbling while his teeth were still chattering.

Xenia moved closer to him, trying to hear what he was saying, but his voice was faint and low.

"Say it again, please." Xenia pleaded.

"Sta…stay with me… please, don't… don't leave me." He stuttered, holding her hands tight.

Xenia placed her hands on his face.

"But I need to call someone for help," Xenia said, also holding his hands.

She realized his eyes closed, and he wasn't replying to her, and his hand slipped away from hers.

Her eyes widened.

"Alpha Maxwell!" She yelled, but he didn't reply.

"No, no, please, no, talk to me.” Xenia cried and thought of what to do.

She placed her finger on his nose and realized he was still breathing, she stared through the balcony; it was late, the stars and moon had already taken over the day, with only some tweeting of birds and owls echoing through the palace.

She can't possibly call the doctor at this time, and Roselyn won't be of so much help, while Beta Dimitri will be the last person she will approach with this matter.

She paced up and down, while glancing at Alpha Maxwell every minute, then, an idea popped into her head.

She took a towel and wet it, squeezed the water off the towel, and placed the wet towel on his forehead, she did that repeatedly until his temperature began to cool down a bit, but still not satisfying to her, so, she had no option than to proceed with her plan B.

She knew it wasn't the right thing to do but right now, his health is more important than anything right.

So, she did it. She slowly removed her gown and stood in front of the mirror with only a bra and pants on.

She hugged herself together and took a deep breath.

"He took the bullet for you, you have to save him." She said to herself while exhaling deeply.

Then she climbed the bed, on top of Alpha Maxwell's hot body, and covered their bodies with the duvet, cuddling him until she dozed off.

*The next morning*

It's another bright day in Red claw's pack.

The sun shines, welcoming the people of the pack to another day.

As the sun reflected through Alpha Maxwell's Chamber, the lights flashes on his face, making him squeeze a bit.

He opened his eyes sluggishly and attempted to move, but something was so heavy on him.

He looked down and saw Xenia, still sleeping peacefully on top of him, naked, well, almost, with a bra and pants on.

He tried to remember what happened last night, but he couldn't.

The sight in front of him is the most beautiful sight ever.

Her hair was all over her face, he smiled, gently wiping her hair from her face.

As he gazed at her, he had mixed feelings, and emotions, and he felt bad that even though he genuinely loved Xenia, she didn't share the same feelings for him.

He traced her jawline with his hands and Xenia's eyes fluttered open.

She saw him staring at her and immediately stood up, covering herself with the duvet, she was embarrassed.

Her plan was not to doze off but to leave Maxwell immediately after his temperature went normal, but of course, sleep betrayed her.

She covered her face and dashed into the bathroom.

Maxwell beamed, finding her reaction funny.

His hand is still in the pouch, but it doesn't pain as much as it did yesterday.

After taking like forever, Xenia finally stepped out of the bathroom, already dressed.

"Go…good morning." She mumbled, staring at the ground.

"Yesterday, your temperature was high and…and…"

Xenia tried explaining.

"You don't need to explain, Xenia. I wish I were in my right senses yesterday, it would have been the best moment of my life." Alpha Maxwell exclaimed.

"Besides, you don't need to feel embarrassed, Xenia, we are mates, you are my Luna, I know you are not ready to be intimate with me yet, but you shouldn't consider what you did, I mean, trying to save my life a shame, please." He added.

Xenia nodded.

"Do you need something? Maybe you want to take a bath?" Xenia asked.

Alpha Maxwell looked into her eyes and smirked.

"I would like to take a bath. Unfortunately, I can't, since I only have one hand functioning." Maxwell said.

"I'm sorry, perhaps I can call someone…?"

"Someone? Why? You are my mate, and I took the bullet for you, so why don't you give me a bath?" Alpha Maxwell grinned cutting her off.

Xenia tucked her hair behind her ear, licking her lips nervously.

*Silver Glow pack*

Alpha Phaedro and Luna Nadia were having breakfast at the gigantic dining table of the Royals.

Different dishes were arranged looking spectacular.

Alpha Phaedro was already feasting on his food, but he noticed Nadia, looking pale and holding her head, not taking a bite of her food.

"Are you okay? You haven't touched your food and I mean the chef prepared your favorite." Alpha Phaedro asked, glancing at her while he wiped his mouth with a face towel.

Luna Nadia pouted and weakly turned to him.

"I don't know, I think I'm sick, my head hurts, and I'm feeling nausea," Nadia answered.

"Oh, sorry for that, have you called the doctor? You shouldn't be careless about your health." Alpha Phaedro asked worriedly.

Luna Nadia smiled.

"I don't think it's something we should worry about," Nadia said.

"We shouldn't worry? It's your health we are talking about, Nadia." Alpha Phaedro scolded, a bit annoyed.

Nadia rubbed her belly.

"Because I think, I might finally be pregnant again," Nadia exclaimed and Alpha Phaedro gasped.

"We? Pregnant again?" He muttered, his face beaming with excitement.

"Yes, I feel it!" Luna, Nadia stated blushing, and he was so excited, he hugged her tight and turned her around.
