LOGINCHAPTER 2
Aria The moon had split and its light was now dim. I could hear everyone's panicked cries coming from the corridor, but that was not my worry now; it was a matter of life or death for him or me. I just felt pain and the echo of Claus's words. "Power Aria! Power is what I want. Can you give me that?” He chose power above fate, but what I am about to accomplish transcends both. The moon was now full again but its light was still dim. Shivers ran down my spine but that wasn't enough to withhold me from what I would be doing. My hands shivered as I lifted the obsidian blade, something that had not been seen for centuries because it could only mean life or death but tonight it would be for both. There was nothing to live for because my love was a traitor, and my poor heart wouldn't recover from this because, after this act, I wouldn't be the same Aria again. I thought he knew I could give everything to him but he still went to take another woman. Now I'll show him what I'm capable of. Without hesitation, I'm going to choose myself. “I, Aria Knight of the Nightshade Pack…” I whispered, my voice cracking like frost on the bark. “...reject the bond of fate. I sever the tie given by the Moon. Let him be nothing to me.” I could feel White screaming from the inside eager to take control as my decision was something irreversible. The blade sliced through my palm and blood dripped into the rune's center. The ground beneath my feet shuddered before a scream came from within from White. It cracked the stones and sent every bird in the trees flying as a strong wind blew causing some trees to be uprooted. The moon suddenly turned red for a moment and then split before sealing again. Dark mist rolled across the grove, and shadows emerged. Tall, twisted spirits with hollow eyes were awakened by the bond's destruction. “You have murdered a soul,” one hissed, its voice the sound of rustling bones. “No,” I whispered, collapsing to my knees, “I saved mine.” From the trees, the Council’s guards appeared, drawn by the quake and magic. “What have you done?!" one of the elders shouted in terror. “Moon Goddess has mercy on us," another cried. “There! The Luna!” someone cried. “She’s done it—soul severance!” “By Luna, exile her! She’s cursed us all!” “Yes, she needs to go; our pack is cursed now." “This is an abomination. How can you do such a thing after our Alpha announced his engagement?" “Please, she’s grieving—she didn’t know what she was doing!” I heard my Mom beg. “We don't care about that, don't act like you don't know what she did is going to our pack." “Yes, we can't keep her here; take that girl out of here!" they shouted. "Aria we need to go!” I heard White say in fear. "Aria, it's Tina. Can you hear me?” Tina asked, her voice shaking. "Yes what's—” "You need to go to the Alpha's coming here with his men; you need to go to Aria,” she said, and I quickly got up and ran into the forest. My broken heart was beating fast, and the echoes of the shadows that had followed me. I was so tired yet couldn't stop as it felt like Claus's men were getting closer. I couldn't risk being taken back to him. It was almost midnight and I looked up at the moon. Its color was not back to normal and the trees in the forest were different. I could tell that I was in a different territory by just sensing the smell around there. I slowed down and sat under a large tree to catch my breath. I closed my eyes but opened them immediately when I saw how Claus's men were looking for me. “White, I'm sorry," I apologized, but she was silent. "For what? You know I'm also mad at what our mate did to you.” I felt horrible knowing we left the only home we had because a stranger was chosen over us. I was deep in my thoughts till I fell asleep without knowing. “Aria wake up!" I heard White scream before I jumped. “Are…are they here?” I asked before noticing two male wolves standing in front of me. I wasn't scared as I could tell that they weren't from Nightshade. “Who do we have here?” A larger one sneered, tongue rolling out. "Something we could enjoy if we're careful enough,” the smaller muttered with a sick grin. "Don't, don't come close to me,” I warned as one was about to take a step closer. “Relax we don't mean no harm just trying to—" I quickly blocked the larger one with the hand that had the cut and the next thing I saw was him going to fall at a tree that was far from where we were standing. “What the—” "Do you want to come close too?” I asked the smaller wolf before it ran to help the larger one get up. “Who the hell is she?" the larger one asked getting up while I walked towards them with lighting eyes. “Please spare our lives we're just rogues that —" “The next time you come across a she-wolf don't try what you were attempting otherwise I will—” "Please don't,” they beg now already transformed into their human form. “Go and don't even look back or tell anyone about what had just happened," I said before they vanished into the forest. I took a deep breath and took a look at the hand that just released the powers I'd kept hidden for years. It was healed but the pain in my heart was still there. “Aria, we need to go; this place isn't safe; they are closer!" White said and I knew she wasn't lying.CHAPTER 225 Aria “Pa…pa…pa,” I heard Salt saying in the cradle when I stopped folding the clothes and then decided to listen. “Pa…pa,” he said again this time loud and clear. I placed the shirt I was folding on the bed and went to sit beside the cradle. “Pa…pa,” he smiled and I just couldn't stop myself from getting emotional. "It's momma sweetie. Your papa has gone to work. I can't believe you are learning how to speak so fast, good boy,” I said, lifting him into the air. “Good morning," Lora said before she walked in with a tray that had my breakfast on it. “Good morning Lora. You didn't have to get that,” I said as she placed the tray on the table. “Come on my Queen. I still love doing this," she smiled before taking Salt who just couldn't stop smiling at her. “I don't trust the way he's looking at you. Isn't that flirting?" I asked Lora. “Goodness that would be absolutely beautiful. Nothing feels greater than knowing the crowned prince is eyeing me right little one?" Lo
CHAPTER 224 Zion “I…I would like to say thank you for everything you've done for Bruno and me over this short period,” she started. "Nia, you're like family now and the way you love my son is nothing compared to anything I've done for you two,” I answered. She and Bruno have played a very big role in being there for Aria and me throughout the rough patch. They provided counseling when we needed it and spent sleepless nights looking after us. Nia played the motherly role for Salt while Aria was still getting over the loss of our children daily. It wasn't easy but they were there for us. Nia was just an innocent soul; she had nothing but love and kindness to offer. Bruno found himself a mate who would be there for him no matter what. Nia made her way out of the office when Derrick walked in with a pale face. That wasn't like him so I asked what had happened when he told me that someone had slapped him. “What do you mean you were slapped?" I asked, looking at him with disbelief.
CHAPTER 223 Zion [One month later ] Things have gotten back to normal and Aria is bonding with Salt so well. Derrick, Bruno, and I had gone fishing while Aria and Nia were busy preparing the food back at the palace. It had been days since this kind of peace had located us. We were so happy that all evil had faded. We placed the net in the river and then waited for a few minutes before pulling it out only to find that it was empty. “I thought the fish were scared of the King's too. Could it be that they don't know we're fishing with the King?” Derrick asked while Bruno and I just laughed. “You play too much. Will there be a time you get serious?" Bruno replied. “I need to send him to an active battle so that some seriousness gets into him." "I don't even know how to fight yet. That would definitely be a bad idea. Are you trying to get rid of me?” "No. You know that's impossible right?” I asked before something heavy pushed our boat. We all looked at each other with shock be
CHAPTER 222 Aria I was now discharged from the hospital on the hardest day of my life. It was the burial day of my children. After taking my bags home Zion and I headed to the graveyard. There the entire Pack had gathered to lay my children to rest. I was breaking, yet I tried my best to stay strong. The moment those little coffins were taken out of the car a cold tear ran down my face as the memories of how we used to be started playing in my head. The way they would smile at me every time I greeted and also hold tight to my shirt was just crazy. I knew I would be missing all that. “It's OK, let it out," Nia whispered while I tried to hold back my tears but they kept falling. The coffins were being lowered and I couldn't help but start crying. This time rawly. I was pained at the loss of my babies. I never expected them to leave at such an early stage. The burial finished, and everyone made their way back home, but I chose to remain. I had to say my goodbyes to my children.
CHAPTER 221 Aria “My Queen," I heard Nia shout from upstairs when I rushed to ascend the stairs, only to find Brave, Bryant, and Nicholas soaking in blood coming out of both the nose and mouth. “What the hell is going on here?" I asked, feeling their heartbeat, but nothing was there. “No this can't be. No!" I said about to throw myself to the floor when one of the guards caught me. My entire world froze and I didn't even know what to do. “My children! My children are dead !" I screamed, roughly moving their hands with the hope of hearing their little cries, but silence was all they gave me. My heart was breaking to its core and I could see my entire world crumbling down. I couldn't imagine my life without my children. I kept screaming as though something bad was about to swallow me whole. The entire Palace went mute, and everyone came to see what was happening, only to find the three lifeless bodies of my children lying next to me. I couldn't take it. I couldn't even manage
CHAPTER 220 Aria I couldn't tell Nia how happy I was that she turned out to be Bruno's mate. After everything that had happened in Bruno's life, he deserved a woman with inner beauty like Nia. I could tell she was scared that I was not going to like it but I did. I knew Bruno was just scared to admit how he felt about Nia. I used to see how much they bonded, but didn't want to overthink it, but now that the Goddess has exposed their love, I am happy. I made my way back to our bedroom where Zion was sleeping on the couch and the babies in their cradles. The room was so quiet and a weird darkness was coming from the balcony. I went to check what it was when I found that the entire Pack was covered by a dim light. This wasn't one from the moon itself but a cold part of it. My heart pounded fast as I still didn't get what was going on though I knew that it meant something bad was coming. I went back inside and took a seat on the bed before Zion sat upright. He looked at me and the
