CHAPTER 52

RUBY’S POV

Dax finally pulled out of the hug and he took my hand before pulling me out of the office along with him. He led me downstairs to his bar and sat me down on one of the chairs before he went around the counter and grabbed two glasses from the cabinet before picking a bottle of wine that was obviously worth a fortune and opened it for us.

“You’ll have a drink with me, right?” he asked as he poured into one of the glasses and I nodded just as he handed the glass over to me.

Then he poured himself a glass too and came to join me on the second chair that was beside me.

We sat down there for a few seconds in silence as we sipped our wine and all I could think about was the fact that I just gave his huge project away to Dennis and when I stole a glance at him, I wondered what he was thinking about since he looked lost in his thoughts.

“So I was going to ask you…” he began reluctantly and I turned to face him.

“Yeah? Go ahead, I’m listening” I urged him to speak, just
