CHAPTER 2: HOUSE PARTY

Luhyahood dream company has been struggling financially, close to six months now, scared to close his company or rather lose it to auctioning, Mr. Martin decided to merge it with its rivalry. He had approached the Wechulis and they had agreed. The companies we're already merged, the only thing that the Wechuli's asked him was to seal it fully; thus that's why they were expected in the Bombwe mansion on that day.

Mr. Martin was so anxious about it, he hadn't informed her daughter the reason to why they were expecting the visitors. He feared her reaction, not only that, but how heartbroken she will be when she hears what her father was to tell her. So, the best thing was to wait until the visitors had arrived.

Ivana took a nap again for one hour, when she woke up, she found the missed call from Lily, her best friend.

“Oh my goodness, I haven't informed her about it …” Ivana murmured as she dialed her number.

Lily is the governor's daughter of Orange County, she was hosting a house party for her friend's. The one she had schooled with and Ivana was invited.

Lily picked on the second ring.

“Hey, girlfriend, where are you? I have been calling you…” Lily said.

Ivana took a long sigh, she tapped her forehead, “Lily,” She calked then exhaled deeply. “I am sorry I won't be able to attend, something has come up, something important.”

“Huh? Hahaha,” She chuckled. “Ivana, what's more important than this get together party? You were the brain behind this, how come you are not attending?” Lily asked surprised.

She has been expecting Ivana for an hour ago. When she didn't see her, she decided to call her because almost everyone who was invited had arrived.

“I wish I can attend, but you see my dad has informed me that we have visitors, and I am supposed to be present, not really visitors, but his business partners…. I don't know…it's something to do with the company,” Ivana informed.

“How is that your business? Since when did your father started to consider you with matters to do with the company?” Lily asked frustrated.

“Since today, girlfriend, go ahead and have fun. I am truly sorry, but if the meeting is over early l, I will drop by to get wasted,” Ivana said.

“Okay, I will be waiting but don't worry I will have fun,” lily informed then ended the call.

Ivana sighed, as she stared at her cellphone. I hope this doesn't take long.

Lily and Ivana have been friends since kindergarten, in fact, Ivana have Bern staying with Lily for quite occasionally. She used to live with Lily whenever her father could travel for international business trips. Most people think that they are twins others related or cousins, but in reality they are good friends.

She stood up and walked to her shower, she took a long warm bath, thinking why her father decided to include her today. A long he has been ignoring her.

She walked out of the shower with a towel wrapped around her body, her hair dripping with water droplets.

She wiped it dry, applied lotion, then wore her bathrobe. She sat in front of the mirror, dried her hair with a blow-dry, tied it in a messy ponytail, then Ivana applied light makeup on her face. Thereafter, she applied a light lip gloss, she stared herself in the mirror and smiled, she looked beautiful. A knock cane on her door, she turned to look whoever will walk in. It was her nanny, Milka.

Although she calked her nanny, she was the same age with her or maybe two years senior.

“Ma'am Ivana, boss has asked me to bring you this. That you should put it on and come down in the living room,” Milka said with a bow.

Ivana knotted her brows as she walked to her. “What is it?” she asked.

“I don't know, ma'am, check it out yourself,” Milka informed as she handed the shopping bag to Ivana. She turned and left the room.

Ivana checked what was in the shopping bag.

She took out a light green dress with a high-slit at the left leg and wedge shoes from Luis Vulton collection.

Ivana loved the dress and the shoes, from the price tag, they were so expensive because her father had ordered them from two-rivers mall and got it delivered. She loved the gift, but wondered why her father could buy her a dress and pair of shoes just because certain business partners were visiting them.

‘What is this all about? Are they that special?’ Ivana wondered.

She can't imagine her dad went an extent of buying her new clothes and shoe even though she had numerous of clothes and shoe collections from high profiled fashion designers.

Her wardrobe had clothes that she haven't even worn them since the day she had bought them. She goes for shopping every week, she has shopping allowances from her father.

She put on the dress and the shoe, then walked to the dress mirror and admired her reflection. The dress fit her flawlessly, everything was her size. She was not surprised that her father knows her size, well, what do you expect from Dad's girl, huh? A dad's daughter.

She smiled and continued staring in the mirror.
