Maeve POV

We didn’t talk again, and I just kept following her to the arena. I could see other people also heading there, and they all whispered. They are actually mocking me, saying I just made a stupid decision, but I ignored them. After taking a long walk, we got to the arena, and it’s so big, big enough for thousands of people. We passed through some doors, then we got to Ario.

He was putting on a black shirt with black trousers; his shirt wasn’t buttoned up completely, and his black hair was a bit messy. It seems he has brushed his hair with his hand so many times today. Seeing him made me feel relaxed and also irritated, especially as he was looking at me blankly.

“Everything is ready, alpha,” a warrior said, coming to him, and his attention was divided.

“Okay, let’s move,” he said. I followed Maya as we all left the open space, but as I was going, he pulled me back.
