Chapter Forty-four

She understood what I meant and gestured for me to wait before leaving. She came back with her bag, she already removed her apron and was talking to the other woman before waving her hand for me to follow her. I stood up and caught up with her.

" Let's start with Sandra's house. She said she's got a new job. Her house is not far from here. Come on" she said increasing her pace.

It didn't take long before we got there. It was a small cabin with a small garden at the side. The place looked welcoming and well taken care of, but it wasn't until we walked up the staircase before we thought otherwise. The wooden stair creaked under our weight with each step we took.

Kaitlyn was the one who knocked on the door while I stood beside her. We waited for a few seconds before the door clicked open to reveal a woman in her mid-thirties.
