Chapter Thirty-nine

"Ok, I will tell you."

Bracing myself for whatever he was going to say. I could hear a dramatic music playing in my head.

"When my father died, Beta Enoch took over the post because I was in a dungeon". He confessed.

His eyes stared at my hands that I held together on my lap. Dungeon, why would they put him in a dungeon? What did he do?

" What did you do?" I said quietly, uncertain if I wanted to know about it.

" I killed my father" I stood up in shock looking at him with wide eyes. My eyes almost fell out of its socket and my jaw was wide open. I wasn't expecting that at all. How? Why?

I kept moving backward slowly till my back hit the door. He didn't stop me as I opened the door and ran out, he just watched me. People watched as I ran out of the pack, my brain reeling with many questions. And it was when I ran to the spot where Jerry took me for the first time after a run, that I regretted leaving. My questions weren't going to answer themselves.
