Sophie Pov

We quietly left the hotel, and we entered the car. He turned the car on. He drives quietly, just looking at the road. I look at him, feeling so guilty that I didn’t call him.

“I’m sorry,” I apologize again, quietly. He looks at me and sighed, not replying me. The ride was awkward and intense as we both sat down, each in our own thoughts. After the long and intense ride, we finally got home. Dad and I came down from the car and head inside quietly. I look at the familiar living room that I grow up in. This house brings me bad memories, memories I don’t want to think of or remember. Dad and I sat down on the couch beside each other. He sighed.

“What happened Sophie? Why were you ignoring my calls?” he asked.

“Dad, what did Everett say to you?” I asked. He sighed.

“He said he saw you with a man in a hotel and you suddenly disappeared,” he said. So Everett is implying that I am a whore, and I abandoned everyone to have fun with a man?

“Do you believe him?” I asked him.
