FAZER LOGINChapter three
Scarlett's pov "You are banished from this pack Scarlett and I've given all the wolves instructions to attack you on sight if you are still within these pack walls in five minutes," My alpha's voice boomed and my eyes widened. All the other wolves howled in agreement and wasted no time in pushing me around, all of them eager to get a taste of me. I turned on my heels and ran for my life, knowing they wouldn't let that time elapse before they chased me down. My lungs squeezed in protest as I ran as fast as my feet could carry me. I didn't dare look back as I heard their heavy footsteps behind me and I knew they weren't too far off. "You filthy rogue, you won't get off these grounds alive," One of them growled just before I was tackled to the ground. I groaned as pain erupted through me and dirt entered my mouth. "Do you think we are going to let you live?" One of them sneered at me as they laughed mockingly and began to circle me. I felt them closing in on me and I grew desperate, I looked around me and pounced without warning at one of the wolves. I clawed and struggled but I was no match for them as the wolf clawed my face and I was sent whimpering onto the floor. As I chanced a look at them my heart dropped. This was it...they were going to kill me. I let out an agonizing howl of defeat as they pounced on me. My eyes slowly peered open as I blinked into consciousness. My heart hammered loudly in my chest and my breathing came out ragged. It was only a dream I realized as I surveyed my surroundings. The sun glared down at me from where I lay and I groaned as I tried to sit up. Where the hell was I? The weariness from the dream gave way to something else...a deep panic that gripped me as I noted my surroundings. I looked around me but I couldn't recognize where it is I was. I was surrounded by trees all around save for a little cottage a little distance away. What was I doing here? As I stood, pain seared through me and I gripped the tree for support as all my memories from the previous day came flooding back. I could still remember the feel of the heat as the flames licked my skin as well as Silas' cold, unfeeling eyes as he watched me scream and beg for a chance to explain myself. My heart physically hurt and tears stung the back of my eyes but I held them in. The real question that plagued my mind now was how exactly I was alive. I remembered the last breath I took before I felt the breath getting sucked out of me so how did I get here? I looked down at my hands and apart from the fact that they didn't bear any burn marks, they seemed unfamiliar, like I was looking at someone else through my eyes. Panic gripped me as I stumbled towards the little cottage, I didn't know what was going on but something within me told me it was mine. I listened carefully as I approached the cottage and when it was clear it was vacant, I slowly made my way in. The foul stench of a rogue instantly attacked my senses but to my greatest surprise, I was repulsed as I slowly realized that stench clung to me as well. The cottage was barely standing and it was clear whoever lived here was poverty-stricken as the room barely held anything, save for a little mat which was spread out in a corner. I tried to calm myself as I walked into the makeshift bathroom which was no better than the other room and as I stared into the cracked mirror I gasped. A stranger stared back at me from my reflection and I wondered if I was running mad as I observed myself. Blue eyes stared back at me instead of my usual brown ones and I spied a scar just above my eyebrow and I gasped. Something told me I got that from the fight with the wolves from the dream...only it hadn't been a dream at all, it was a memory. Whoever this person was, I was somehow in their body and I relived their memories. But how was this possible? Was the woman in my body? No that wasn't possible since my body would have probably been nothing more than ashes by now. My thoughts were jumbled as I tried to make sense of everything that was going on but it was just too much to comprehend. I tried to reach out to my wolf but I couldn't feel her. Had she died along with me? A deep sense of loneliness enveloped me and I hugged myself as I stared into the mirror. This...whatever this was, was worse than death and I suddenly wished my soul would have died in that fire along with my body and my wolf. A tingle within me alerted me that something was wrong...much worse than my current predicament. "Run," A tiny voice within me urged me as I heard heavy footsteps approaching at a distance. My hearing seemed heightened as I could tell whoever they were that was coming was still a good distance off. I crept my way out of the cottage and my eyes immediately met green glinting ones in the distance. "Found her," The man announced to the other wolves who snapped up at his words, their eyes zeroing in on me as they stalked closer. "Finally Scarlett, you are one hard rogue to catch," the man smirked at me before he transformed and raced towards me at full speed. With wide eyes I darted in the opposite direction, ignoring the howls behind me. What the hell was going on?Chapter 179Scarlett's pov "You aren't as sly as you think," Silas commented as he stared at me with an amused look."What are you talking about?" I feigned obliviousness, and he shook his head as he approached the bed."How are you feeling?" He asked as he assessed my cuts, which were healing nicely."I'm much better because I have the most attentive doctor," I teased as my cheeks heated under Silas' stare."I can't wait for you to be back to perfect health," he whispered as his eyes landed on my lips and my throat dried."You weren't in bed when I woke up this morning," I pouted, as I had every night since I had returned, slept, and warmed up in Silas' arms."Asher and Nora contrived a plan with the border officers to get me away from you." He growled as his eyes shone with annoyance."I'm sure it's because you weren't letting anyone an inch near me." I pointed out but he frowned."You need-" he began."Your rest," I completed as that was the song Silas seemed to be ringing in my e
Chapter 178Scarlett's pov A soft knock sounded from the door before the door cracked open and Nora slipped into the room. She rushed to my bedside and I could see the mischief in her eyes."What do you think you are doing?" I asked her with a small smile on my face."Do you know what it took me to bypass Silas?" Nora panted and I chuckled. Silas had been keeping a close eye on me for the last two days and he has kept me on strict bedrest. I hadn't left his room since he brought me in and he didn't let anyone in.This was the first time I was seeing Nora since I returned and I was unsure how it would go, she no doubt had a million and one questions to ask me."The way Silas was keeping you under lock and key I was convinced I would find you in a fatal condition." She commented as she settled on the bed beside me."I just had some little cuts, nothing too serious," I told her and she nodded."How are you feeling?" She asked soberly and I knew that was a prelude to a conversation I did
Chapter 177Scarlett's pov I pulled Silas into my arms and his shoulders shook as he sobbed into my neck and a lump lodged in my throat.I recalled all the times I had imagined this very moment but all the other times, I was convinced I would feel a deep sense of satisfaction seeing Silas so broken and on his knees but all I really felt right now was pain.I realized I had forgiven Silas a long time ago and I had fallen in love with him all over ago."Forgive me Elara, please forgive me." Silas kept on whispering into my neck and my heart broke as a single tear slid down my face and I hugged him more tightly."There is nothing to forgive Silas, I already forgave you a long time ago," I told him and he slowly pulled back a bit to stare at me."Do you mean that?" He asked as his red eyes searched my face to ascertain if I was telling him the truth and I offered him a small smile."When I arrived at this pack I was so bitter and enraged. The sight of you alone was enough to make my bloo
Chapter 176Scarlett's pov I stretched as I came back to consciousness, and my eyes slowly opened. A sad smile graced my lips as I recalled the vivid dream I had had about Silas, it had felt so real.I made to rise but then I stopped in my tracks as I realized I was on a bed. I looked down at the bed before I proceeded to survey my surroundings and my heart hammered against my ribcage as I realized I was in Silas' room. How was this even possible? That could only mean...it was, in fact, not a dream and Silas had indeed found me, but how could that be?I let out a shaky breath as I made to rise from the bed once more, ignoring Silas' overpowering scent which wafted around the room, but pain shot through me."It would be better if you stay on the bed, you haven't healed properly." A voice called out to me and my head immediately snapped towards the window and there he was.Silas was leaning against the wall beside the window and staring into the night. He slowly turned his head and hi
Chapter 175Scarlett's pov I groaned as I dragged myself against the tree and allowed my legs to give up as I crumbled onto the floor and leaned against the tree.I had to keep going, I knew I had to keep going if I didn't want the rogues to catch up with me but I just couldn't.My breaths were shallow and I knew I had lost a lot of blood. I assessed my cuts and tried to stop the bleeding as best as I could with whatever herb I could find around me.I hoped I hadn't left a trail for the rogues because they would easily be able to trace and capture me and I would be completely unable to stop them.I stretched my hands out in front of me and assessed them, wondering if that was what Scarlett meant when she told me to look within myself. My hands and chest still tingled from the power that surged through me and I wondered how the hell I was able to escape so many rogues.I knew the power I had hadn't been mine and that could only mean it had been Scarlett's. I touched my chest as I reca
Chapter 174Silas' pov Just as I stepped out of the office, Nora stopped me in my tracks with tears brimming in her eyes and instantly I knew she knew.Nora and I stared at each other for a moment without saying a word to each other and Nora swallowed."Is it true?" Nora broke the silence between us and I felt Asher's presence behind me."Is what true?" I asked and Nora's nostrils flared."Don't do that, don't act oblivious when you know exactly what I'm asking." She gritted out but I remained calmly silent in front of her."Is Scarlett really Elara?" She probbed and I quirked a brow at her."Who told you that?" I asked as I turned back to Asher who looked away from me guiltily."Don't blame him, I literally had to force it out of him because I noticed he was acting weird," Nora called out and I turned back to her."Scarlett is Elara," I announced and Nora wobbled on her feet almost as though she would crumble to the floor and Asher brushed past me and held her in his arms, holding h
