LOGINChapter three
Scarlett's pov "You are banished from this pack Scarlett and I've given all the wolves instructions to attack you on sight if you are still within these pack walls in five minutes," My alpha's voice boomed and my eyes widened. All the other wolves howled in agreement and wasted no time in pushing me around, all of them eager to get a taste of me. I turned on my heels and ran for my life, knowing they wouldn't let that time elapse before they chased me down. My lungs squeezed in protest as I ran as fast as my feet could carry me. I didn't dare look back as I heard their heavy footsteps behind me and I knew they weren't too far off. "You filthy rogue, you won't get off these grounds alive," One of them growled just before I was tackled to the ground. I groaned as pain erupted through me and dirt entered my mouth. "Do you think we are going to let you live?" One of them sneered at me as they laughed mockingly and began to circle me. I felt them closing in on me and I grew desperate, I looked around me and pounced without warning at one of the wolves. I clawed and struggled but I was no match for them as the wolf clawed my face and I was sent whimpering onto the floor. As I chanced a look at them my heart dropped. This was it...they were going to kill me. I let out an agonizing howl of defeat as they pounced on me. My eyes slowly peered open as I blinked into consciousness. My heart hammered loudly in my chest and my breathing came out ragged. It was only a dream I realized as I surveyed my surroundings. The sun glared down at me from where I lay and I groaned as I tried to sit up. Where the hell was I? The weariness from the dream gave way to something else...a deep panic that gripped me as I noted my surroundings. I looked around me but I couldn't recognize where it is I was. I was surrounded by trees all around save for a little cottage a little distance away. What was I doing here? As I stood, pain seared through me and I gripped the tree for support as all my memories from the previous day came flooding back. I could still remember the feel of the heat as the flames licked my skin as well as Silas' cold, unfeeling eyes as he watched me scream and beg for a chance to explain myself. My heart physically hurt and tears stung the back of my eyes but I held them in. The real question that plagued my mind now was how exactly I was alive. I remembered the last breath I took before I felt the breath getting sucked out of me so how did I get here? I looked down at my hands and apart from the fact that they didn't bear any burn marks, they seemed unfamiliar, like I was looking at someone else through my eyes. Panic gripped me as I stumbled towards the little cottage, I didn't know what was going on but something within me told me it was mine. I listened carefully as I approached the cottage and when it was clear it was vacant, I slowly made my way in. The foul stench of a rogue instantly attacked my senses but to my greatest surprise, I was repulsed as I slowly realized that stench clung to me as well. The cottage was barely standing and it was clear whoever lived here was poverty-stricken as the room barely held anything, save for a little mat which was spread out in a corner. I tried to calm myself as I walked into the makeshift bathroom which was no better than the other room and as I stared into the cracked mirror I gasped. A stranger stared back at me from my reflection and I wondered if I was running mad as I observed myself. Blue eyes stared back at me instead of my usual brown ones and I spied a scar just above my eyebrow and I gasped. Something told me I got that from the fight with the wolves from the dream...only it hadn't been a dream at all, it was a memory. Whoever this person was, I was somehow in their body and I relived their memories. But how was this possible? Was the woman in my body? No that wasn't possible since my body would have probably been nothing more than ashes by now. My thoughts were jumbled as I tried to make sense of everything that was going on but it was just too much to comprehend. I tried to reach out to my wolf but I couldn't feel her. Had she died along with me? A deep sense of loneliness enveloped me and I hugged myself as I stared into the mirror. This...whatever this was, was worse than death and I suddenly wished my soul would have died in that fire along with my body and my wolf. A tingle within me alerted me that something was wrong...much worse than my current predicament. "Run," A tiny voice within me urged me as I heard heavy footsteps approaching at a distance. My hearing seemed heightened as I could tell whoever they were that was coming was still a good distance off. I crept my way out of the cottage and my eyes immediately met green glinting ones in the distance. "Found her," The man announced to the other wolves who snapped up at his words, their eyes zeroing in on me as they stalked closer. "Finally Scarlett, you are one hard rogue to catch," the man smirked at me before he transformed and raced towards me at full speed. With wide eyes I darted in the opposite direction, ignoring the howls behind me. What the hell was going on?Chapter 201Silas' pov I stared down at Scarlett's pale face as the machine beeped in the room. The door pulled open behind me but I didn't bother to look away from her."Nothing yet?" Nora's soft voice called out to me as she placed a hand against my shoulders and I shook my head.It had been two days since the incident and Scarlett was yet to wake up."Has Doctor Kyle come in to check up on her?" Nora inquired and I nodded."Nothing's changed. He said the tonic neutralized the poison and now we just have to wait for her body to heal on its own time." I informed Nora and she let out a sigh."At least that's good news," Nora muttered and I hummed in response."You should get some rest, Scarlett is out of the worst danger," Nora suggested but I remained silent. There was no way I was leaving Scarlett's side before she woke up."Silas, you haven't gotten any rest for the last two days, there are dark circles under your eyes, and-" Nora began but I cut her off."I'm not leaving Scarlett
Chapter 200Silas' pov"How is she?" I asked Doctor Kyle and he let out a shaky breath."What's wrong?" I asked as my heart beat wildly in my chest."I ran tests and assessed what was wrong with her and I discovered she was poisoned." The doctor announced and I nodded."Yes, I don't know the type of poison but I do know it was laced with silver," I replied and he nodded slowly."I don't know how to say this Alpha but I've never seen poison so strong before in all my years as a doctor." Doctor Kyle revealed and I felt the earth shifting from under me."What are you trying to say?" I growled out and he took a step back as he cleared his throat."I've given her something that could help with the silver but I'm unsure of the components of the poison and they might be potent enough to render all my efforts useless but...there is no antidote for that poison." He revealed and everything stilled for a second.Goosebumps spread across my flesh at his words and a ringing filled my ears."What a
Chapter 199Silas' povFear gripped me as Scarlett went slack in my arms."Scarlett?" I called out to her as I gently shook her but she didn't stir and her face was alarmingly becoming pale.I scooped her into my hands and ran as fast as my feet could carry me back to the pack house. Asher had lined all the captives in front of the infirmary and they were bound together. I ignored all the curious stares at me as I made my way to the infirmary and I burst through the rooms. Many of my pack members who were injured from the attack were getting treated and I took Scarlett to the room specially reserved for me."Get doctor Kyle," I shouted at the nurse who stepped into the room and she scrambled out of the room just as fast as she came in."Scarlett?" I called her again as I placed her against the bed and gently tapped her cheeks but she still didn't stir and my heart hammered against my chest as she almost seemed...dead."What's the prob-" Doctor Kyle began as he stepped into the room bu
Chapter 198Scarlett povAria gasped as she took a step away from me and I felt as though my body was no longer my own but I was merely watching from the back.My wolf took control and before I could process what was happening, I had Aria on the floor. She stared up at me fearfully and her eyes pleaded with me but I growled at her."Please, please don't harm me. I only wanted to take back what was mine." She pleaded and I growled lowly and she immediately shut up.My claws elongated and dug into her chest and a sickening sense of satisfaction filled me as the smell of her blood filled the air.Aria howled in pain and clawed at my paws but I didn't bulge. I noticed her hands fidgeting behind her back and before I could react, she stabbed my paw with a similar-looking injection to the one she had given Silas.I howled in pain as rage overtook me and I slashed her neck open, enjoying as she choked on her own blood and her blood splashed against my white fur.I remained on top of her as I
Chapter 197Scarlett's pov "Will you listen now or should I slit her pretty throat?" Aria asked and Silas took a cautious step towards us but Aria pressed the knife into my skin and I whimpered."Don't come any closer," she warned him and Silas growled but stopped in his tracks."What do you want?" He asked as his eyes stared daggers at Aria and she let out a sigh akin to satisfaction."Give up your pack and I'll let her live," Aria announced and a gasp left my lips as I tried to jerk away from her but instantly regretted it as the knife nipped at my skin and I groaned."If you try anything stupid I'll slit your throat without a second thought." She whispered into my ear before she turned back to Silas."So what's it going to be Silas? Do you love Scarlett enough to give up everything you've worked your whole life to build for her?" Aria goaded and Silas remained stiff as his eyes darted around and I knew he was trying to find an escape route for me."Time is ticking Silas," Aria cal
Chapter 196Scarlett's pov I rushed towards the pack house and I picked up a sword that was lying on the floor beside an officer's dead body.I charged at the rogues and sliced through as many as I could. I manoeuvred my way around the chaos as I fought off the rogues at the same time trying to find Silas or Nora.I groaned as someone kicked me from behind and I went tumbling forward. I jumped to my feet even as my body groaned and turned to the rogue who was charging at me. Before I could lift my sword he kicked it out of my hands and made to unch me but I took a step back, barely avoiding his hands.I kept on moving backwards as he attacked relentlessly and I kept my hands in front of me as a shield against his attacks while I waited for an opening. When he raised his leg to deliver a kick to my side, I moved away and swiftly delivered a kick of my own right to his gut.The man groaned as he moved away but I didn't let him recover as it was my turn to deliver the attacks and I roll
Chapter 161Scarlett's pov I frowned and closed the book I had been reading as I recalled my dream and everything that had happened with Anna before I left to save Silas. She would no doubt know by now I was the one who sidetracked her plans...Now I just wondered what she would do about it.The mo
Chapter 164Silas' pov My lips slowly stretched into a smile as I regained consciousness. I groaned as I turned to my side, remembering the events of last night and my hand shot out to pull Scarlett to me but her side of the bed was cold.My eyes popped open and I looked around the room but there
Chapter 165Silas' pov "Are you done throwing your tantrum?" Asher growled at me and I merely stared at him."Instead of going berserk, we should find out where she is and bring her back." Asher continued and I ran a hand through my hair."The border officers said they didn't see her leave," I ann
Chapter 159Scarlett's pov By the time I returned to the training grounds, Silas was no longer in sight and most of the pack members had retired back to the pack house. I was a bit annoyed by Jasper's words, I mean I understood that things couldn't possibly be easy for him in the pack but I was me
