Lihat lebih banyakThe streets of los angeles are slick with snow that just fell a few hours ago. A man stepped on the asphalt pavement, trying not to slip his boots every time he stepped on the pavement that was covered in subtle ice.
He was holding a glass cup filled with hot chocolate that was still steaming. And he winced every time he took a sip of the warm thick liquid. It felt too sticky and sweet on his tongue which was not used to any of this.
Nicholas furrowed his brows after swallowing one gulp of chocolate that still left a sweetness on his tongue
"I should have ordered pure coffee" he mumbled as he looked around "But I didn't know they had that here. Every shop here has an unrealistic menu"He muttered while holding the cup with the logo of the famous coffee cafe in his hand.
He doesn't really need it anyway. He doesn't need a cup of chocolate or coffee to warm his up. The cold winters in Los Angeles are nothing compared to where he came from.
He wouldn't even mind if every single one of those icicles fell on his bare skin. But of course all eyes here will stare at him strangely.
That's also the reason why he stopped by one of the warmer cafes down the street, he needed something to make it seem 'normal' among them.
Something that wouldn't make everyone he met look twice every time they passed him.
Nicholas had come here several times, he knew more or less about human behavior better than the rest of his friends. Humans drink coffee that is too sweet when it snows and eat a piece of cake that is as sweet as the coffee itself.
One more sip of his hot chocolate and Nicholas thought the hot chocolate wasn't so bad. It's just that if it's not too sweet like this, he doesn't mind finishing a few glasses.
He took another step down the sidewalk when he came across a group of girls who automatically looked up to look at him. Nicholas gave them a faint smile. And he heard them giggling.
He couldn't remember how many people here had done that. Looking at him like he was the most foreign person they had ever seen. Although that's not entirely wrong. They looked at him as if Nicholas was dressed very silly.
Even though he had scrutinized his appearance several times in a large shop window, there was nothing out of the ordinary about him.
Except maybe from his height that towered between them. Whenever he was in the crowd, people would stare at his neatly cut black ink coat. Under the coat, he wore an equally black turtleneck.
Likewise with the pants and boots.
And oh! It's his eyes. Many of them here had brown eyes, but few had a copper-like color. And rich in gold like molten gold. He will consider wearing sunglasses after this.Nicholas finally stopped where his instincts told him to stop. He was standing on the pavement under the flashing street lights, he stood there for a moment, ignoring the melting snowdrops on his light brown strands
Silent there looking towards a minimalist cafe. The cafe has a glass wall that allows people from outside to see inside. Nicholas' eyes fell on one of the visitors. A girl sitting in the corner of the room, closest to the glass wall.
Her face wasn't very visible because she was looking down in front of a thin rectangular object that he was eyeing seriously. Her brow furrowed. Sometimes she plays with her hair between her long fingers.
Nikolai smiled. He couldn't be wrong again.
Standing here, he was worried that she might catch him looking at her like this, but she didn't look out the window at all.
Nicholas couldn't be wrong, the aura of his people, werewolves would always stand out. Especially in this world, among humans.
Although he himself was sure that the girl was completely unaware of it.
People passed by in front of him, but he was still observing the girl minute by minute. And how did she get here? To this world? Who brought her here?
Nicholas thought what reaction his alpha would give if he heard this news. The girl raised her head and looked out the glass wall. Like she could also sense someone familiar was watching her. Nicholas turned quickly before she could catch her gaze.
And this news is enough. The news about this girl's whereabouts. He stepped away from the sidewalk and left the cafe.

Violet sighed and closed her laptop in a lazy motion. She stretched her fingers which felt a little numb after a few hours of doing her job.
Even though she was used to this, what humans normally do, she still felt strange at times. Her fingers were still stiff and tucked into the keyboard as she typed something.
She had just finished an assignment before being able to take a long vacation and was replying to several emails for an internship offer. She rubbed her eyes, her head felt dizzy looking at the monitor screen for a long time.
She took a sip of the cup containing the matcha latte she ordered. That's when her cell phone on the table rang,
"Yes, mom?" she greets someone who calls
Violet's brow furrowed when it wasn't her mother's voice that answered her."vacation plans? I don't have one yet" she answered lazily when her sister's shrill voice sounded from the other side.Violet's eyes scanned the sidewalks and street lamps outside, it was only moments ago that she was sure with all her heart that someone was standing there and watching her. Not an ordinary person. The same person and from the same world as him. At that time her stomach churned.
"That's a good idea Tiffany, I'll call Isa" Violet answered her sister about planning a vacation to the village.
Violet pushed the unpleasant thought away and focused her mind on her sister. And his mother. And that they would meet soon. She missed them all. Including her twin, Isabelle. Violet laughed "Oh, you called Isa before me?" she made a made-up voice of disappointment. "That's not typical of you, and why are you using mom's cell phone?"
On the other side of the phone Tiffany snorted "I have no choice. You didn't answer the few times I called you"
Violet listened to all of her sister's ramblings before she said goodbye to end the line "Good evening Tiff, see you soon, soon" she hung up the phone and started packing the things she brought, including her laptop.
Her bones had been stiff since she'd been in College all day and she hadn't had a chance to lay her back on the bed. Soaking in warm water with bathbombs and aromatherapy candles is what she wants most now. Violet sighed before rushing towards the cashier.
As the street performers finished their third song, the audience threw money into the container in appreciation for the entertainment they had received. It wasn't long before the container was full and the singers, including a little girl who wandered into the crowd, were beaming. She dashed to them as soon as she noticed Isabelle watching them from the crowd."You came! You kept your promise!" She cheered enthusiastically to the two of them, it was obvious that the little girl was very happy. Isabelle ruffled her hair gently "How could we forget? I like your singing, Lola" "Thank you!" The little girl loved to sing, and she was even happier because since she met Isabelle, there was no Rogue to bother their show. "Are the men still messing around over there?" Victor asked her "No sir, they never come again. It's magic!" Lola explained with sparkling eyes "What did you do to them? Are they all in jail? Are you a cop?" Her eyes twinkled. The little girl couldn't help but be curiou
Tiffany followed Nicholas until they reach the dense forest area further and deeper, the man seemed to have no intention of stopping even though he was far from the manor and only entered into the darkness, there was nothing here except the trees. Tiffany needed to make her boyfriend realize that maybe he was just hallucinating about seeing someone. "Nich!" the girl called out, He finally stopped his running right then and there, the person he was sure he saw earlier was gone. So fast it ran away, whoever they are must have known that Nicholas saw and chased after them. What a wily creature in fleeing and hiding, but unfortunately it would not last long. "Who exactly are you chasing? You..seem to see someone so...so important?" Tiffany was breathing heavily after running after him. "A witch, she was a Silverfur prisoner who was to be sentenced to death, but she escaped from prison and the pack hasn't found her yet. I believe I saw her!"Nicholas replied as his eyes scanned the su
"Would you like to dance?" Nicholas offered his hand to her. The guests began to dance with their respective partners in the hall, in sync with the melody of the music. As Alpha Xander and Violet returned to the manor, more and more joined the dance. Tiffany just watched them from the banquet table in the corner, the couples seemed to be very good at dancing and moving their bodies. Being at this party, a werewolf party for the first time made the girl feel a little awkward because of just a few people she knew. she accepted it and let him lead her to the center of the hall to join the others. "I might step on your foot" the girl felt she better say it before she would step on his foot and startled him. Nicholas chuckled "I won't get mad" Actually he wasn't very good at this kind of dancing himself. Tiffany glanced around for her parents, only to find that they had already joined the dancing party at some point. "Nich, do you think I get along well with the werewolves, with th
This was not the first time Xander had seen her. In his eyes, his mate was the only woman capable of possessing his heart. Only Violet could do that. But now looking at her, coming down the stairs in her wedding dress, he felt like he was seeing her for the first time. He could barely take his eyes off her let alone breathe. The girl took all his attention, she seemed to shine like a full moon tonight. And the smile on her face was the prettiest of all. It was because he knew that it was a happy smile. Xander couldn't help himself and walk over to her, he held out a hand and she take it. And as the Alpha led his mate to the center of the hall, there were whispers from the guests that all made Xander smile. Everyone was saying that his bride was indeed the perfect mate for him. "What's wrong?" the girl whispered softly and quietly "Is there something wrong with my appearance? I overheard them talking about me a bit"Violet swallowed, she never liked being the center of attention be
Victor stared blankly at the corpse of a Lycan lying in front of him. The Alpha tried to catch his breath, his opponent was dead but his anger had not yet dissipated. This was the creature that had killed his parents all those years ago, cause they do it against his order. Or was it he who could not control them? Until they killed his father and mother. Now that the creature was still alive, alarms rang in his mind remembering who the Lycan tried to attack moments ago."Isabelle?" Victor looked around but the girl was no longer there. There was a large trash can next to a street lamp, the man walked over to it. Victor stopped when he found the girl cowering there, hiding. She was so scared that she didn't even dare to look into his eyes. Victor held out his hand, but she just stood still and stared at him motionless. Only then did he realize that he must now look too horrible for her to look at. His hands and shirt were covered in the Lycan's blood. That blood must have spread to h
"Alpha, there is a letter for Luna Isabelle from the Scarlet Claw pack" Gavriel handed the paper to himVictor raised an eyebrow. A letter to his Luna from Scarlet Claw? This must have been written by her twin. Victor stared at the letter for a while, he didn't want to open this first before her. But the man couldn't help his worry. What does it say? Her twin met his Luna a few days ago. Nicholas, the one who swore loyalty to his pack was now back with them. 'Is there something they are planning to do to my Luna?' he wondered. The man finally opened the paper and read the contents, and sure enough, it was written by Violet herself. Mom and dad are here. That was the first sentence written, Victor read the whole thing. Afterward, he folded the letter back up and put it in his pocket. The Alpha seemed silent for a moment, not making any comment on the contents of the letter. That made Gavriel wonder "Is the letter a threat?" Gavriel asked "Do we need to make preparations in case the
Inside the cafe, the atmosphere was warm and cozy. It's the end of autumn in the human world and the snow is starting to fall making the air even colder. Having a cup of coffee or chocolate in this weather is a must. "One hot chocolate and coffee. And a Black coffee" Isabelle told the waiter her order. "Alright, just a moment miss" the waiter left after taking the note. "How do you know what I want to drink?" Victor asked her, they were sitting opposite each other at the table in front of the window. Now the man was looking at the girl who seemed to be busy reading the menu book. They both visited the human world because she missed the taste of food here. After being presented with the menu, the girl was at a loss for choice. She even forgot the taste of the food here. "I didn't think that you would want chocolate or milk. I just ordered what you usually drink in Lusevell" she replied. Or something that tasted close to it because no drink here would taste the same as the one in
When they arrived at the manor, the Scarlet Claw pack had already gathered in the courtyard. Tiffany gulped as she passed through the crowd of werewolves who had their eyes on them. Nicholas held her hand tightly to steady her, while behind them, Davis and Diana looked around them and wondered what world they had entered. This was the first time Alpha Xander had invited a human to Lusevell, to their manor. Davis and Diana stopped, they stared at each other as if asking each other if they were dreaming. After entering Lusevell, Tiffany led them to the manor straight away. Diana blinked her eyes at the magnificent building in front of her, it was so beautiful. The surroundings were also very beautiful as if they had entered a world in a painting. In front of the entrance, a tall man stood. The man had sharp blue irises. When he saw the two of them, Xander give a warm smile. Diana immediately knew that he wasn't just anybody, he must be the leader here. What made Davis and Diana wid
The tense atmosphere slowly turned into awkwardness as none of them opened their mouths to speak. Tiffany stood by her mother's bed anxiously. She repeatedly tried to wake Diana, who still had her eyes closed. Across from her, Davis Miller massaged the bridge of his nose as he closed his eyes tightly.Neither father nor daughter spoke a word to each other. Tiffany wanted to speak up and start explaining but she was too scared, while Davis was just not sure where to start. Tiffany stroked her mother's hair softly "Please, wake up."There was a sigh from Davis who looked so tired. The man couldn't wait any longer for his wife to wake up from her stupor "I'll call the doctor" The man was about to walk out of the room. Tiffany stood up straight before the man reached the doorway, there was a coughing sound from the bed. They both turned to Diana who seemed to be massaging her forehead, the woman slowly began to open her eyes. "Mom" Tiffany quickly intervened as her mother insisted on
