Mag-log inMy Other Face: No Mercy.
Alpha Rowan's POV
Festus's scream was the sound that finished my morning. I smirked and took the seat opposite him.
He hadn’t lasted long. Panic licked his skin and sweat had made his collar dark. The pleading came in rhythm, urgent bursts.
"Please, boss. He threatened my family. Please, have mercy."
I smiled a slow, humorless smile.
"Do you know why they call me the unforgiving spirit of Draevyn?"
"Because… you don't forgive." His words were a whisper.
"Exactly."
Darion's voice rose behind me. "Drae…vyn!!!"
"No mercy! No mercy! Every sinner must die." The others echoed it, and for the first time I enjoyed watching a man actually understand what our chant meant.
"When that scum who thinks he is the king of the rogues approached you, you should've been more afraid that I'd kill you before he does, but no, you stay under my nose… right under my nose, Festus, and soil the Draevyn name." I growled gently to his hearing while he kept whispering pleas.
Then I turned to Darion.
"Tell the sinner what we have lost."
"Do you remember Singapore?" He asked Festus, his tone calm. "Spain? Men we lost because you led them to camp?"
Festus trembled. "I…"
I cut Darion off with a raise of my hand. One mole had cost me more than money: men, shipments, reputation. Festus didn't know how expensive his betrayal had been.
A guard pressed a cigarette between my fingers and lit it. It was just what I needed to be calm. I inhaled slowly, then leaned forward until the smoke nearly curled across Festus's face.
"Boss, I have served you faithfully for five years… And…"
"And in one week, you tore down your five years of hard work with your own hands, don't you see it? Now tell me, this so-called King of the rogues, where is his camp?"
At that moment, I mind linked my team who were stationed somewhere in the pack and gave instructions.
"We never met at his camp, he just captured me from the woods one time when I was on guard and took me to this empty spot in the woods, that's where we always met." He stammered.
I smirked, noticing the twitch in his lips as he ended his statement.
Lies. They never learn.
"And?" I asked, wiping a new string of sweat from his brows with my fangs.
"That's all I know, boss. I swear. It's all I know about them."
"Do it."
A single gunshot cracked. Festus screamed. The little theater of pain would do the job and the truth would walk in sobs. It always worked.
"Please, that's all…"
"Again."
Another shot. He convulsed. Blood darkened his trousers. He spat out words between cries but not what I wanted.
"If you keep lying to me, your hands will have bullets deposited in them just like your legs."
Even on the hot seat, caught on his own lie, Festus still had determination etched with pain on his face. It was what I taught all my men. As much as I was proud of him in his last moments, I didn't have time for this.
"Bring them in."
I watched as all the emotions on his face dried up and grew cold with dread. If his knees were not already weak from the bullets we had planted in them, he would be down on his knees.
"Please, Alpha. Spare them, please."
I could hear the cries of the daughter and mother behind me.
"Beautiful family reunion." I muttered, refusing to turn in their direction. I hated the sights of tortured females.
"Woman, did you ever warn your husband about betraying me?"
"Yes, Alpha. I begged him every day with a reminder our lives are at stake as well. I did." She cried, and I could imagine her holding onto their daughter like she was their life.
"She did. Imagine that, Festus. And you would let us break the innocent woman's hand just because you've refused to disclose where his camp is? Darion, go ahead then." I snarled.
"No! No! Please, wait!"
I heard Darion stop walking and I turned my red glare to him. He immediately continued towards the woman.
"Wait. I said I'll speak."
"Speak, Festus. Speak before he gets to her." I took another long drag.
By now Darion had already gotten to mother and daughter.
"What! He didn't take me there but I saw it. I sneaked and followed them on one occasion and I saw the place."
"Hold on, Darion. Where is it?" I breathed out the smoke and stared at them between the smoke.
"Please, promise me you won't hurt them. My wife and daughter." He begged, holding onto his last shred of hope.
I hated desperate times like this.
"Break her arm." I ordered.
Crack!!!!
And screams from the three followed.
"That's for wasting my time. Where is the camp?" My patience was running out.
"At the boundary…" He was screaming bitterly. "…the boundary we call the spirit land. Somewhere there."
With this, I knew exactly where my enemies were.
Jackpot!
I let the stump of the cigarette fall and stomped it with my boot.
"Thank you, Festus." I meant it.
And I walked out, my men following me.
"Boss, what do we do with them?"
One of my guards asked in a loud voice.
At this point, I know my judgment is an overreaction, but I don't care what you think. I would make my point to all the guards in there. Those not present would hear, and of course, they would always know that I'd kill them first before any enemy of mine gets to them.
"Do whatever you want." I stopped at the door and turned.
I take what I want. I kill what threatens me. And today I would prove it.
"Kill them all."
Lilith’s POVI waited quietly for Alpha Rowan to come in since I couldn’t see the door from where I lay. When he stepped in, I felt him. This was different, it wasn’t just knowing, it was a pull, like he was part of me.Was this the bond people spoke of between mates? Was this how he felt whenever I was near?I wanted to cry. This was the closest I had ever come to feeling like a complete wolf.Moments later, Talia shifted slowly, and his face appeared beside me. He took my hands in his, and the contact stirred fire within me.What was this?"Hey," he whispered softly, crouching low so his eyes met mine. "Are you okay?"I nodded, tears sliding down my face. The feeling was whole, complete, like I’d found someone who could carry my pain with me."Don’t cry, please. My heart hurts when you do," Rowan whispered, wiping away my tears.I sniffed, forcing a smile. "I’m not crying. I’m happy."He kissed the back of my hand, and my body only grew hotter. I wanted him to hold me, to touch me—a
Alpha Rowan's POV"You’re disturbing Miss Lilith, who has just given birth and clearly doesn’t need this noise. I’d appreciate you leaving," Doctor Harry said, shocking even me.I froze for a moment, confusion stirring, but fought to keep it hidden as I glared at them. The only reason I’d allowed them to speak was because Lilith wasn’t here. Without her wolf, she couldn’t hear from this distance. I had deliberately taken them away from Harry’s workspace."Your time here is up. Show them the way out of this pack, and never let their feet cross it again," I ordered my guards."Yes, Alpha."I hadn’t welcomed them with open arms. I knew firsthand what they’d done to Lilith—I’d witnessed it. For a second, I thought they had changed, maybe come to ask forgiveness, which was why I let them in. Now, I regretted it.At least now I knew better. It would guide my decision-making.Mark—or whatever his name was—I remembered him vividly. That day, he dragged her out with hate in his eyes, like she
Lilith’s POV"I'm Felisha Thronegrave, Lilith's mother. How is she doing?" I overheard a voice from the corridor, and nausea washed over me.What the hell was she doing here?"No, I'm not alone. I came with one of my sons, Mark Thronegrave.""Hello, I'm Mark. We are here to see Alpha Rowan and my sister, Lilith. We heard she is here."I could imagine his smile, and my body froze. Every sense in me heightened. That voice—it hadn’t changed. My hands trembled as I tried to reach for something, anything to defend myself. But I couldn’t even lift them.A few minutes ago, I was staring at the white lines on the ceiling, hollow, like my only joy had been ripped away. And I wasn’t wrong—the only thing that made me valuable in this pack was gone. As I wondered what they now thought of me, my nightmares appeared. The door creaked open, and my breath hitched. Air refused to enter my lungs. They had come to mock me. They should’ve come yesterday—or two days ago—when everything was going well and
Alpha Rowan's POV"We've lost the baby," Doctor Harry announced, and from my side view, I noticed my Luna’s already tense face turn pale as she stared at him."And Lilith? How is she?" I asked without looking at Rachel."Lilith is fine, Alpha. She’s finding it hard to get over the loss, but physically, she’s okay." I sighed deeply and rubbed my temples."I told you not to get your hopes up. It’s quite usual to lose the first one. I was actually surprised it lasted this long," the doctor added, clearly trying to console us."I don’t get it. What exactly happened? You don’t just wake up one morning and have a miscarriage," I pressed.I couldn’t understand it. One minute she was fine and doing well—I made sure of that—and the next she was losing the baby."Oh, well, that possibility isn’t completely ruled out. But that’s where your Luna comes in." His eyes fixed on Rachel, and I saw her twist uncomfortably in her seat."What happened, babe?" I asked softly, turning to look at her."It wa
Lilith’s POVFive months later…“Talia, run a bath for me. I think I’m ready to shower now,” I said, resting on the bed with my heavy stomach and a novel in hand.“I’m on it, Princess,” she replied, rushing with buckets of hot water.I tried to push myself up.“Princess, please wait—I’ll help you when I’m done!” she cried, nearly panicked.“I’m fine, Talia. I can stand on my own.” I chuckled. Why were they treating me like I was sick?“Please, let me do my job. Luna Rachel told me not to let you stand alone.”“I’m pregnant, not sick.” I laughed, sitting upright. It was my fifth month with Alpha Rowan’s first child, and the pack’s expectations were sky-high.For the first time in my life, I felt important. Luna Rachel pampered me endlessly since the pregnancy was confirmed. I did almost nothing, cautious only of getting fat from all the food.Alpha Rowan was excited, though distant. I once overheard him scolding Beta Cole for running his mouth, warning him it could land him in prison.
13Lilith’s POVTwo months later…"I'm pregnant?" I whispered.Doctor Harry nodded, his eyes fixed on the results in his hands. My heart sank, yet a smile tugged at my lips as I sat across from him in his office."I need to inform the Alpha and Luna. They’re waiting outside," he said, finally moving toward the door."How many weeks?" My voice trembled."Three weeks and a few days," he replied with a small scoff, finally meeting my eyes."Thank you, Doc," I whispered."I’m glad you’re happy, but don’t get carried away. Anything could still go wrong.""Nothing will," I cut in quickly. He gave a short laugh, muttering my name, "Lilith," before stepping out.Alone, I walked to the mirror, resting my hand on my stomach. In just weeks, I was carrying another life. It didn’t matter that the child came from Alpha Rowan and Luna Rachel’s requirements—I still felt attached. Two months since Doctor Harry’s arrival, and here I was, pregnant. He had been gentle, probably the kindest man I’d met.
