Mia's POV:
When I returned from White Hills Academy, I walked into the kitchen and found my mother, Lucy Anderson, who said, "Mia, we have guests coming today." "What? Mom, who are the guests?" I asked, gazing at her fair face. Ever since I had moved back to live with my mother in the White Hills area and gained admission to the academy—where she taught—I still couldn't feel comfortable. I am Mia Anderson, a 17-year-old girl. I used to live in London with my father, Rafael Anderson, before Mom asked me to return home and apply to White Hills Academy. The academy's area was sparsely populated, and I had heard wolves howling at night. It sent chills down my spine to know that wolves lived nearby, so I wasn't truly comfortable here. "Mia, I know you're trying hard to adjust to this place, but I promise you'll love it," Mom said softly as she walked over to me in the kitchen and held my hand. "Mom, there's nothing for me to like around here. First, there are the woods, the forest, and wild animals like wolves living nearby. Aren't you scared that one of these wolves might attack you one day and tear you to pieces? I'm so frightened at night that I can't sleep, even though people live around us too," I complained bitterly. I was wearing a short blue denim skirt, a long red sweater, and white canvas shoes. I was of average height, and so was my mother. "Mia," Mom began, her lips curling into a smile as she let go of my hand and walked to the gas cooker to check the delicious meal she was preparing for her guests. "I understand you're not happy about coming back here. If it weren't for your father, who traveled from place to place, you wouldn't have grown so distant from this area," she said, her voice filled with sadness as she checked the pot of fried rice and chicken she was preparing for dinner. "Mom, I get that you love this place—the forest, the waterfall, and the scenery of green plants surrounding us—but I don't. I want to apply for a transfer back to London. Please, I understand you and my father got divorced, and he's moved on with his life, but this place doesn't suit me," I said, stomping my feet on the kitchen floor. My mother smiled and covered the pot of fried rice she had just finished cooking. "Look, Mia, there's something I need to tell you about yourself before your 18th birthday," she said as she walked over to me. The white dress she wore barely covered her thighs. My mother could pass for my elder sister because she was light-skinned and a 36-year-old woman. "What is it, Mom?" I asked, watching her face curiously. She took a deep breath and said, "You are not really human, Mia." "What?" My eyes widened in shock at her statement. "Mom, if this is a joke, please stop it. What is that supposed to mean?" I asked, feeling my heart about to burst from the revelation. She smiled and held my hand. "Look at me, Mia. You are a werewolf—a Beta wolf, not just a human," she said, her blue eyes glowing brightly, which made me stagger backward. "Mom, please tell me you're joking. I don't understand what you're saying. How did you make your eyes glow like that? First, what is a werewolf? Do they even exist? You seem to read too many fantasy books and now believe that werewolves are real and live among us, let alone that I am one too. Please, Mom, I'm not in the mood for these jokes. Just let me apply to go back to London. I can call you on the phone, and we can video chat every day," I said, knowing that my mother found it hard to let go of me. "Listen to me, Mia. Your father isn't human either. He is a werewolf like me, but he's a researcher, which is why he traveled from place to place, working on his research. He took you to London with him and refused to let me tell you about your life here. He knew the risks if you didn't return to the pack—you could shift one day, and animal control in London might capture you and lock you up in a zoo for scaring people," she said, laughing, which made my jaw drop at her revelation. "Mom, you're scaring me right now. What do you mean that I'm not human? How is that even possible?" I asked, and she smiled sadly. Before my mother could say another word, the doorbell rang. "Our guests have arrived, Mia. Don't worry, I'll tell you more about it tonight. Your 18th birthday is just a month away, and you need to prepare to meet your mate and experience your first shift as a werewolf." "What? Mom..." I watched as she hurried to the kitchen door to open it. "Come on, Mia, my guests have arrived. Let's go welcome them," she said, dragging me out of the kitchen toward the living room. You wouldn't believe that my mother lived in this big duplex alone. After all, she was the chairwoman at White Hills Academy. I didn't want to study there, but Mom insisted and refused to let me stay in the academy hostel, so I lived at home with her and commuted to school. I was studying banking because I wanted to work in a bank in London, but now I had to live in a pack full of wolves. Anxiety crept up my back as my mother and I went to the living room door to welcome her guests. Mom had servants who worked for her and cleaned the house. She was a rich woman, and I was surprised she was still single. She had a slim figure and nice curves. I sighed as my mother opened the door. To my shock, the three bad boys from White Hills Academy—Luis, Liam, and Leon Oscar—entered the living room. They were triplets, wearing matching white tank tops that revealed their muscular abs, black jeans that hugged their long legs, and black boots. "What? Mom! What are these three bullies doing here in our house?" I screamed, glaring at the three bad boys from White Hills Academy.Mia's POV:My heart was still racing as I accompanied Vivian into the women’s clothing store."What do you think of my brother, Mia? Should I give him your contact? He’s serious about you?" Vivian asked as I selected some stunning dresses for myself. My gaze landed on a lovely blue dress displayed on a mannequin, and I admired the diamond embroidery design at the top and edges. The dress had long sleeves, but it was simple, and I thought it would suit me perfectly."Wow! This dress is so lovely. How much is it?" I asked the female sales representative, deliberately ignoring Vivian’s question about giving her older brother my contact.I didn’t want to tell Vivian yet that I thought the triplets were my mates, but I knew I couldn’t escape that reality when the time came."Miss, this blue dress costs $100,000," the saleswoman said, and I jumped back in fright."What? $100,000 for this blue dress? It’s lovely, but the price is too exorbitant," I said, letting go of the dazzling dress."We
Mia's POV:"Where are you, Mia?" Vivian asked as I answered her call."I'm on my way now. Where can we meet?" I asked her."I've sent the location to you. Hurry up," Vivian said before ending the call.Sighing, I picked up my black handbag and checked to ensure my wallet was inside. Afterward, I left the house, saying goodbye to Mom. I got into her sleek black car, and the driver, Mr. Andrew, drove us to the shopping plaza and parked."I'll wait for you here, Ma'am," he said as I got out of the car."Alright," I replied with a friendly smile, then looked around the mall. Several people were going about their business, and the sunlight bathed me as I called Vivian."Hey, Vivian, where are you?" I asked, taking a stroll along the roadside."At the mall. I've seen you—cross over," Vivian said, waving at me. I spotted her standing beside a tall man, waving her hands in the air."Over here, Mia!" she called. I grinned, ended the call, and crossed the road to catch up with her. Vivian was w
Mia's POV:"Alright? And what if I don’t want the mates? How do I reject them?" I asked Mom, watching her face intensely. Her eyes widened at my inquiry."Mia, you cannot reject your mate. It’s against the pack’s law to do that. A mate is a gift from the Moon Goddess, creating a special bond for us to love and trust each other. If you reject your mate, you risk losing your wolf, and finding another mate isn’t easy. So, I won’t advise you to do that. Even if your mate is crippled, deaf, or mute, or even someone you hate the most, you have to accept the bond. The bond exists for a reason, unless you don’t want it, but it’s not easy to move on after rejection. You’ll be in constant pain, and it might take years to heal. Take me and Alpha David, for example. Though Alpha David lost his mate, your father only left me. It’s not like your dad rejected me, but whenever he cheats on me, I feel the pain, and he surely feels mine from last night and before, since he stubbornly refused to accept
Mia's POV:"My dad wasn't going to come back. He wouldn't, and it wasn't like my mother and Alpha David weren't getting intimate. If Dad was bothered about all this, he should have been back, but he hadn't returned. I'll just reject the triplets. That's all I can do now, so I can concentrate on my studies," I said, and Molly shut me out. I couldn't speak to her again, and I sighed as I took my bath in the bathroom.Once I got out of the bathroom, I picked up a white nightdress and put it on. I then moved over to my bed to sit down and use my phone. I saw a message notification and read it. It was from Vivian Adams."Hey, Mia. What's up? Do you have plans for the weekend? We can go shopping, and I want to introduce you to someone," Vivian texted me, and I smiled as I read her message."Who is it?" I asked her, wondering if I should ask her about werewolves and why she didn't tell me about herself."Don't worry. You'll get to see him tomorrow," she replied, and I was curious."Him? Who
Mia's POV:"Why am I not happy that Leon said he'll only treat me as his sister from now on? Why do I feel sad in my heart?" I asked myself after my mother went upstairs. I sat on the black couch alone in the living room, waiting for her to return. The living room was painted white and featured a flat-screen television, a built-in aquarium, a beautiful home theater, flower vases, and colorful lights to beautify the space."It's because they are our mates, your future husbands, and you need to calm down, Mia, and follow your heart. If you reject them, you will be unhappy," the soft feminine voice whispered back to me, and I tensed."Who are you again?" I demanded, trying not to frighten the voice that had spoken to me before. I didn't know if the voice was human or a spirit."I'm Molly. Your wolf.""My wolf? Where are you?" I asked, looking around the living room, but I didn't see any wolf. So, where was she? I still had doubts that I was a werewolf. My body trembled with the realizati
Mia's POV:My cheeks flushed at the mention of begging for their cócks. "There's no way I would do that," I replied to Leon coldly, since he was the oldest of the triplets."Only in your dreams will you see me do such. I will never beg any of you bullies!" I retorted, and they came to meet me, surrounding me with their tall, masculine frames."We’ll be patient, Mia," Liam said, drawing his face closer to mine."What’s going on here, boys?" Alpha David appeared at the top of the stairs balcony and saw his three sons surrounding me like predators, making me feel hot."Nothing, Dad. We’re only trying to get along with our little sis," Leon replied as he swiftly hugged me, placing his right arm over my shoulder, and I froze."Isn’t that right, little sis?" Leon asked, leaning closer to my left ear, an inch away from my red face.I knew this was my chance to tell Alpha David the truth, but how could I say something that might disappoint my mother?"Yes, Alpha. I’m only giving them my warni
