Claire’s Pov

I sat alone in the woods in a fallen log of a tree, at the small clearing that Raven and I as claimed as ours by constantly visiting it and spending quality time here, talking about life and how it is for us.

The quiet serenity of the first with the birds chirping noisily was the only thing that surrounded me. It was a very welcoming escape to the tension that never seemed to leave the air back at the lack pack house.

The rustling of the dried fallen leaves as the wind tossed them about filled the air at intervals, but my mind was completely elsewhere, turning over everything that had happened recently.

I was waiting for Raven, and though I knew she would show up eventually and that it would just take a while, I couldn't help feeling a little impatient. I glanced around, wondering what could be keeping her this long because she was hardly late to our meetings.
